from there. good afternoon. i'm martha maccallum here at fox news head quarters in new york. a stone's throw away from rockefeller center. a lot of news breaking at this hour. so two new released hostages. we'll have details in just a moment. we're waiting for more. this is the hour where we start to see the vehicles rolling and a whole new day for these individuals who are finally breaking out of a horrific captivity that began for them on the horrible day of october 7th. in new york, on the right-hand side of your screen, they are marking a day of solidarity with the palestinian people. there's been 700 protests since this all happened. we're going to show you what's going on live in the streets as a bigger crowd is gathering near the tree lighting. first, the idf is confirming that hamas has freed this mother and daughter today. a 73-year-old and 50-year-old. they're duel israeli russian citizens. that was a separate get dealt with by those two countries. so so far we have seen women and children, which was the first priority for these releases, released and united with their families, which is very good news. a lot of them are coming back to news that they had no idea of in terms of whats a happened to their families. so it's a bitter sweet mixed blessing, but obviously they are so grateful to be released. so now we understand that israel and hamas are considering keeping this going. opening a new phase of this truce. that's when we might start to see some nine americans who are all believed to be men who are being held released. that's a big priority for this country. military members also are believed to be in the next potential group. so israeli government spokesman avi hyman is with us live. first we go to nate foy in northern israel. hi, nate. >> hi, martha. there appears to be a delay in the transfer of ten israeli women hostages to the red cross. they're still in hamas' hands awaiting transfer to the red cross. we're working to learn why there's a delay. we'll keep monitoring that. you mentioned the two women that hold citizenship in israel and russia who are already in israel on their way to the local air base. take a look at this video. they spent 54 days in hamas captainivety. they were kidnapped back on october 7 from their kibbutz along with the daughter. so it's a mother and daughter and the daughter's son and girlfriend who remain in captivity in gaza right now. their release is considered a gesture by hamas to russian president vladimir putin who refuses to condemn the october 7 attack. this despite horrible sorries as the psychological story on hostages is more clear. take a look at these next pictures. some hostages were beaten, others lost weight. a 9-year-old little girl that was released sunday is afraid to make noise. listen to this. >> she only speaks in whispers because she was conditioned not to make a noise. she thought that she had been held hostage for a whole year. her faith is gaunt. >> just heart breaking to hear there, martha. the aunt of this 12-year-old boy calls hamas terrorists monsters who beat her nephew and watched -- forced him to watch video of the october 7th attack. this is the humanitarian crisis continues to worsen in gaza. this week three u.s. military flights will deliver humanitarian supplies there. u.s. secretary state antony blinken arrives in israel tomorrow as negotiations for a longer pause in the fighting continue. you mentioned it, martha. not only will the negotiations center around the release of american hostages, but also they're focusing on possibly releasing israeli men, even idf soldiers. so far israel has had to release three palestinian prisoners for every israel woman or child hostage. we'll see if those numbers change and we'll continue monitoring the release of the ten hostages that is currently underway. back to you. >> martha: we'll look for some new information on that. thanks. good to have you here, nate. with that, we go live to tel aviv and israeli government spokesperson avi hyman. thanks very much for being with us this afternoon. you obviously are watching this extremely closely. do we have any idea what the hold-up is? we've been waiting to see the other ten be released for the last hour or so. >> martha, thanks very much for having me on. sadly we've seen these games before. these psychological games by hamas. as if it wasn't enough that on october 7 they plowed through our borders, butchering families, burning entire families alive, killing children in front of their parents, parents in front of their children. if that wasn't enough and if it wasn't enough to take 240 hostages, now they have to play with the families, releasing children, leaving the parents, releasing parents, leaving the children. this is hamas. we know who we're up against. until those people are on israeli ground, we don't know their fates. >> martha: it's interesting to look back at how we got here. the priority of these hostages. initially what we heard a lot from the israeli government was that the first priority was to eradicate hamas, to end the threat, which is very important to israel and to release the hostages. there was a big movement a ground swell by these families. we have an image of avi brodich that kicked off this movement. he was sitting in front of a building with a sign. i think we have that image. that just said my family is in gaza. really the families pulled together so tightly to insist that they be the priority. even if it meant a pause in the fighting. what can you share with us about him, about this movement and about how you balance it with the fight. >> martha, contrary to that, from the very beginning of the operation, there were two missions of this war. one is not above the other. one is to destroy hamas militarily and on a government level to ensure that they do not rule gaza to free gaza from hamas. the other side by side is to free the hostages. we'll free the hostages if we need to do tamil theirly or free them as we're doing them now through this deal. if the deal breaks down, then we'll have to continue with the war and we will continue with the war and work to free the hostages. that is our mission. we stand shoulder to shoulder with israelis. wore all on the same page. but hamas needs to be something -- needs to go back to history. we need to secure our border from those savages because they have said they will do it again and again. that's where we are. >> thanks, avi. we'll be watching closely if we get an indication of the hold-up. we know from hostages that have been released, they say when they're in the vehicles, they're still obviously terrified because they don't know where they're being taken at that point. that's the limbo that these other ten are in right now. so avi, let us know if you get anymore information. thanks for being here. we'll speak with you soon. thank you. avi hyman from the israeli government. also breaking today, hamas claiming that its youngest hostage, this 10-month-old baby boy, kafir babas, who so many people have been praying for, there's some reports that he and other members of his family, his brother and his mother, may have been killed. major spielman from the idf will answer questions on that next. l, because i know so many of you have served our country honorably. one of the benefits that we as a country give you as a veteran is the eligibility for a va loan for up to 100% of your home's value. if you need cash for your family, call newday usa. with automatic authority from the va, we can say yes when banks say no. give us a call. for almost 100 years, harry and david has been making gourmet gifts to share with loved ones near and far. because giving is about more than a day on the calendar. we believe the world would be a better place if we all shared more. harry and david. life is a gift, share more. your heart is the beat of life. if you have heart failure, entrust your heart to entresto. entresto helps improve your heart's ability to pump blood to the body. don't take entresto if pregnant; it can cause harm or death to an unborn baby. don't take entresto with an ace inhibitor or aliskiren, or if you've had angioedema with an ace or arb. the most serious side effects are angioedema, low blood pressure, kidney problems, or high blood potassium. ask your doctor if entresto is right for you. dear moms and dads, what you have achieved here today is going to help us and our futures. it is why we're coming up on stage to collect your diplomas. mom, love you always. vo: when you graduate, they graduate. visit finishyourdiploma.org to find free and supportive (car engine revs) adult education centers near you. (engine accelerating) (texting clicks) (tires squeal) (glass shattering) (loose gravel clanking) . >> martha: more news on the ten hostages that there's some kind of hold-up. wire not sure exactly what it is. we'll continue to dig into that forry for you. right now the israeli military is investigate this heart breaking claim by hamas that 10-month-old kafir bibas, the younger of all the hostages who spent 1/5 of his life in their captivity and his mother and another toddler, the little boy in the middle, there's reports they're killed. everyone is hoping and praying this is not the case. the idf says the cruelty of hamas is on full display as everybody in the world has watched this family and others. so let's go live to tel aviv and major doran spielman. major, good to have you with us today. we all sort of catch our breath when we see this report. what can you tell us, what do you know? >> first of all, thanks for having me. this is as you mentioned a heart breaking story from the get-go. one of hundreds, but especially given the ages of the sweet little children on october 7th, the two children and the mother and father were in their community located a few kilometers from the gaza strip when terrorists yanked them out of their beds. a video was taken -- >> we have that. >> showing mother holding this little baby and her son to her chest. and that's the last we've seen of them since they were hauled enough to gaza. particularly cruel gesture, even -- >> martha: this video -- i want to show people this video that you're watching. this is sheree and her two sons. she was in the bomb shelter with her boys. that's why she has a blanket wrapped around herself and both of them. this is hamas with their hand on their family taking them away from their home and the husband was seeking safety. he put all of them in the bomb shelter. so what do we know now, major? how do you go about confirming this report from hamas? >> we do have -- we have initial information at the beginning of the week, which we did release that they had been traded by hamas to another organization and they were being held somewhere in the southern gaza strip. today hamas made this announcement that they had been killed. again, our hearts are with the family. we're assessing this based on all of our intelligence. both people on the ground, the information, all the ways that we've been able to gather intelligence now. part of that are the reports that hamas puts out. but we know the reports have often been wrong. we're hoping that this one is wrong. this is another example, not only was this family ripped out of their beds and the video that you showed us, but they were kept in an area by hamas strategically to protect them. the terrorists use these families to protect them. if they were hurt, it is just another example of how low hamas will go in order to try to cover their terrorist efforts. even a 10-month-old baby is not out of question for them. >> all right. thanks, doron spielman. thanks very much. we will continue to wait for more information. obviously very hard to deal with hamas and get clear communication despite the fact that these exchanges keep going on. thanks very much, major. >> thank you. >> so after causing major disruptions and 75,000 in damage to the historic new york city public library on thanksgiving day, officials are once again at this hour on high alert in midtown manhattan for pro-palestinian protests that are designed to flood the christmas tree lighting, their words, when they promote this event. we'll take you live to midtown manhattan as the crowds begin to gather next. i thought what happened in connecticut yesterday was extraordinary. connecticut is a blue state. they have not had a republican governor in 12 years. the last time the state house had a republican majority was 1986. you weren't even born. 1986. and the democratic governor yesterday said we're on a plan right now to get rid of our gas cars in 12 years but we don't have a plan to make it work. they pulled the plug on it literally. at the same time, he had the 3,000 auto dealerships that said slow your roll on this whole idea about electric vehicles on america's newsroom earlier today. dana and i had a guy on new jersey. normally in our dealerships, a new car will sit there for three months. then we'll move it. our electric vehicles are sitting there for 12 months. he called tesla a vanity project. a vanity purchase for people that got the extra money to buy a second car and most people are not like that. they don't like it cost more money to set up a charging station in their house. even though you get deep discounts on electric vehicles, they're not moving them. this is a big push here in colorado. it's happening during an election year. you know where his voters are when it comes to climate change. he is still trying to make this happen. the market is saying, as they said in the letter yesterday, pump the brakes. >> martha: you've seen it in the u.k. and other places as well. tapping the brakes as you said on a lot of these projects because when they start -- it's almost like they didn't calculate how difficult and costly these things would be and do a very basic cost benefit analysis as to whether or not it works. i just have to wonder with these wind turbine projects in the ocean, will they start bailing them out? >> good question. you and i talked about this more than a year. of disruption ther must be at the base of these did your combines on the floor of the ocean to make sure that they can withstand the force of a hurricane wind. it's extraordinary. i think green energy will be here eventually. but you can't get there before it's time. i think that's what the market is saying. the other thing to keep in mind when the president comes out talking about bidenomics. he's in congressional district three in colorado. democrats think they can flip lauren boebert's seat. that was the closest election we had. that's part of the reason why he's there today. realtor.com came out with a measure of what they think will happen in 2024. keep in mind right now, everybody says the economy is issue number 1. it's number 1 for pocket books for people all across the country going in to this election season. they believe the real estate market will have lower prices by 1.7% for a home. now, that may matter to some people. but 1.7% really doesn't move the meter. they predict by the end of 2024, we'll be through this election, they think interest rates on average will be 6.8%. right now you're 7.5. higher than that. so half a point might matter to some people. but i just don't think it's going to move the meter when it comes to this economy. >> martha: bill, before i let you go, we're in the middle of supporting two very big war efforts. one in europe and ukraine and the other in the middle east with israel right now. you have a prime seat to ask some serious questions about all of this at the reagan defense forum tomorrow and through the weekend. tell us about that. >> well, we've been doing this every year for some time now. it's a great opportunity to get in to the minds of not only political leadership but those in the military business in america today. what is extraordinary to me, every year we go, there's a different topic top of mind. last year was hypersonic missiles. the concern was that we're behind china and russia, which we still are. this year now you have these -- you know, feels some days like the world is on fire, whether it's ukraine, or the middle east or whether it's iran or whether it's our u.s. forces under attack seems by the day. you have china and taiwan. there's so many hot button issues for this reagan forum that we will dive in to it. >> martha: thanks for coming by. good to see you. a coalition of more than a dozen religious groups backing israel and jewish people everywhere. we'll speak to the man leading that charge in the face of a lot of opposition next. my mental health was much better. but i struggled with uncontrollable movements called td, tardive dyskinesia. td can be caused by some mental health meds. and it's unlikely to improve without treatment. i felt like my movements were in the spotlight. #1-prescribed ingrezza is the only td treatment for adults that's always one pill, once daily. ingrezza 80 mg is proven to reduce td movements in 7 out of 10 people. people taking ingrezza can stay on most mental health meds. ingrezza can cause depression, suicidal thoughts, or actions in patients with huntington's disease. pay close attention to and call your doctor if you become depressed, have sudden changes in mood, behaviors, feelings, or have thoughts of suicide. don't take ingrezza if you're allergic to its ingredients. ingrezza may cause serious side effects, including angioedema, potential heart rhythm problems, and abnormal movements. report fevers, stiff muscles, or problems thinking as these may be life threatening. sleepiness is the most common side effect. it's nice. people focus more on me. ask your doctor about #1 prescribed, once-daily ingrezza. ♪ ingrezza ♪ veteran homeowners need cash but worried you can't get a home loan because of your credit?
