>> ainsley: we begin the final hour of "fox and friends" with a fox news alert. we are in the fourth and final day of a temporary ceasefire deal between israel and hamas and we're learning both sides have concerns over the list of israeli hostages and palestinian prisoners to be released today. >> steve: four more were released yesterday, bringing the number to 40 over the last three days. right now, we have team coverage with a look at the palestinians being released. first check with trey yingst outside the schneider medical center in israel. trey. >> trey: good morning. i want to start with an update. we understand there are disagreement between israel and hamas about the final list that will include more hostages being released from gaza. the qataris and egyptians are working on the final day of the ceasefire and trying to extend this ceasefire for more prisoners to be released. three thai nationals have been released. nine children brought to the schneider hospital with two mothers that are receiving treatment and said to be in good condition. among that group, abigail edan that israeli-american citizen talked about so much following the brutal massacre on october 7. both her parents were killed. just yesterday prime minister netanyahu speaking with president biden about her case and others. earlier today we spoke with one grandmother reunited with three of her grandchildren taken into gaza on october 7. take a listen. we hugged them a lot, again and again and again. we cry a lot. we laugh a lot. it was like a -- like a wave, like a storm, all the feelings flow up it was amazing. >> trey: mix of emotions for so many israelis trying to make sense of what took place. that mother lost her son, but was reunited with her grandchildren. prime minister netanyahu meeting with elon musk at the border with gaza. they visited the small community to see the aftermath of the massacre, back to you. >> brian: thanks so much take a look at who has been release on the palestinian side. >> lawrence: more palestinians are releguizamoed, who are these people? >> brian: we know what they have done and who they are. numbers first to get a look. the number will get up to 150, currently 117 are out. >> in 2007, they say there are 1000 palestinian for one israeli life, we set prez dense for. 39 released thursday, friday and saturday. >> brian: here is a list of 300 eligible and 30 were children. original rly were 33 women. here is what we can say about some prisoners. >> lawrence: some have been in jailed for attempted stabbing, social media incitement and supporting terrorism. >> brian: if you support hamas, you support terrorism. number two, they keep saying on other channels and ws, these people were sentenced for throwing rocks. don't think so. >> lawrence: different from the israelis, innocent darwish held in jail for seven months, accused of throwing a petro-bomb at soldiers. >> brian: this woman, 23 years old -- by the way, most of the men are in their teens. convicted over a stabbing in jerusalem, served eight years. she will be out. i don't know if this is reform opportunity or get better at terrorism. >> lawrence: sentenced to eight and a half years for another attack with a knife on a border police. she was only 16 at the time, they call her a freedom fighter. >> brian: when you are capturing a nine month old and taking a four year old and taking an 80 year old, how does it compare to this? these people have been convicted and caught in a court of law in israel in the west bank for committing crimes and the way they get out on three-to-one margin is to take innocent people who wanted to have brunch on october 7, instead they are dead, wounded or captured. >> lawrence: part of the concern, will the folks return to terror? this person was detained for throwing insen iary device and convicted in court. >> brian: there could be more getting out today, there is a problem with the list on both sides, the list of 300 israelis said we are willing to let these people out tlchl is this woman, a burn victim. 11 years in prison for attempted car bombing. could be suicide bomber. >> lawrence: she said there was something going on with her car, the battery was malfunctioning, of course it was a bomb found in the car. >> brian: these are the people getting out. i don't know if prison is a reform opportunity, but they are out and about and oftentimes they reoffend. back to you. >> steve: today, cyber monday, set to be record-breaking day today. >> ainsley: jeff lock has been tracking the trends and joins us with details. hi, jeff. >> good morning ainsley and steve. remember the days when you had to wait for the store to open, now you can spend 24 hours per day on the phone. take a look at the numbers, pretty crazy. 12 billion we're going to spend online today, an increase bigger than we thought about 6%, that comes after what i would call cyber black friday, that was last friday, we spent $10 billion. that was an increase of 7.5%. on thanksgiving day, we spent 5 billion that day, a big increase. we talked to gene marks who tells us it's been incredible holiday shopping season, but don't expect it to last. >> it's been a great year in 2023, consumers are spending and traveling and making up for years they lost during covid, it will start catching up. >> you remember cyber monday started because people go back to work on monday and bought things online 59 work. now you can buy on your phone and mobile phone cyber spending has gone up 14%, 3.3 billion on this holiday. as to what we're buying, well, you might guess electronics is the number one thing. clothes is number two. i like to try my clothes on. toys and hobbies and beauty and health is what we're buying and buying a lot of it. i guess we don't care things cost a lot of money and we're concerned about the economy and all that stuff and buying anyway. guys. >> steve: we are indeed. you are there plymouth meeting, my kids would go to that mall right there. when we saw black friday and they are suggesting today's cyber monday could be bigger inin sales than black friday. people buy onnow. >> cabbage patch dolls, wasn't that great? i was at the mall on friday and everybody was calm, walking through, dressed up, times have changed. >> brian: willing to make a bid on a walkman, they are on sale right now. >> lawrence: do they still have those? >> i have two at home, if you need one. >> ainsley: i think my parents have every old electronics in their garage. you can throw this away. beta-max, they can't, they have to hang on to it. >> steve: thanks for breaking that down. >> glad there are old people that remember like me. >> steve: you left out pet rocks. >> lawrence: did y'all do shopping? >> ainsley: i've done a lot. >> lawrence: there were a lot of good deals, i saw a lot of 20 and 30%, even 50%. >> steve: my wife and i went shopping on black friday, >> ainsley: was it crazy? >> steve: no, there were places that were 60% off, deals were good. the white house now, joe biden is tanking in certain numbers, particularly with the economy, the white house is pushing back and saying the economy is not bad, look at black friday, it was really good. number one topic we were out and about with peter and his family, people would talk about is how much stuff costs. we're concerned about world events, impact of bread and butter issues to the president, it will take a toll when you look at groceries up 20%. >> brian: they don't want them talking about bidenomics, electricity is up, radio and gas is up 50% and plumbing and heating. utility bills, no one talks about that, they talk about gas in the car. people say, what happened and call the gas company, that is the price now. >> lawrence: the white house keeps explaining to american people what reality is. think about it, folks traveling to the grocery store to prepare dinner and then you got gas bill traveling to see your loved one and then you have house full and electricity is already up and they are saying that is not true. we know better. >> ainsley: it can be stressful, especially if you are a parent and you have two or three children. you are worried about saving enough to put them in college and worried about some people worry about putting gas in their car or putting food on the table. there was a woman from pennsylvania, mckenzie, she posted this video on tiktok and was emotional how expensive it is to live a normal life. she has a great job, she's a full-time nurse. her husband has a great job and it is not enough. we can relate. listen. >> i feel like my husband and i are doing everything right. we both have good jobs, i'm a nurse, i'm a registered nurse, i work full time. he works full time. we just got paid this past friday, right? we pay the mortgage. bought some groceries, put gas in the car. and guys, it is tuesday and we have like $200 or $300 to last us until next friday. >> steve: she is expressing what others are. i was at the grocery store yesterday, pot roast is $10 a pound. a three pound pot roast dollar 30 and it used to be $9. it is so expensive. the guy next to me in the grocery store in new jersey was talking when he goes to the grocery store, he goes home with two bags of groceries for $100 and it used to be $50. a lot of people are blaming joe biden. things were cheaper before things got so expensive. >> lawrence: if you have a family member, you know what it feels like, folks are working and they are just short. >> brian: it is self-inflicted because of oil and gas. they want wind mills and solar panels to provide everything and wind mills have been ineffective and don't want to do nuclear. there is progress on small nuclear power plants that have gone into state after state, there is hard time with regulation and don't want to do anything to make people's lives better. it is agenda driven. >> lawrence: people expect middle-class joe to be a little different on policy. folks are living paycheck to paycheck. we had mckenzie on the program yesterday, here is what she had to say. >> i'm glad my voice was unintentionally empowering to people to speak out and say me, too, and share we're all in the same situation with economy and price of groceries and gas and just the struggle of middle-class america where we're working our butts off and have nothing to show for it. prior to covid i was working at a state prison and we did not struggle as much as we do now and i make more than i did then now. >> ainsley: your dollar doesn't go as far. >> lawrence: i spent time with sean for the holiday, i had the show the next day, we're in the grocery store and everyone coming up to us, do you think something is going to change? >> ainsley: sean said more people recognized you than they did him. >> lawrence: not true. they were upset with state of the country. these are independent voters that live in new york city. they are saying, do you think this election will be the election that turns this around? >> steve: the thing about mckenzie, she said, look, we make a good living, we have money to pay the gas and the mortgage and can buy groceries, but that's it. we are heading to christmas and she's got kids, where is money for gifts going to come from. the white house has to dig themselves out of this deep hole. the white house and economists say numbers are better, maybe that is true, people don't feel it. >> brian: i don't need to see a bar graph or pie chart, the fact fox anchors have to shop together. i was told i have to shop with bret baier and pick out groceries together. who do you have to shop with? sandra smith? that is the big story, put that on tiktok. >> ainsley: i'm glad rachel interviewed her and she told her story. it shouldn't be that way in america. if you are a registered nurse, i thought nurses got paid a lot of money. it looked like they had two children in the picture, if you pay for kids, you have a full-time great job and it is still not enough to make ends meet, that should not happen in our country. >> steve: that is the american dream. i will go out and get a family and make money and now -- >> ainsley: everything is going up you no, my sister's rent went up $300, she is a teacher, that is a lot of money. >> brian: carley, we'll toss to you now. >> carley: i'll go to the laundry mat with bill hemmer. brian will fill in for him. more news to get to. former first lady rosalynn carter motorcade, will head -- scheduled for wednesday, carter released. he referred to her as latest, not found. emily was not lost, she was kidnapped by a terrorist organization. an algerian immigrant was questioned. hi, piers. >> i don't have to go shopping with brian, do i? >> ainsley: next time i come to london, we'll go shopping together and make brian jealous. >> having seen brian's wardrobe, it will not go well if i go with him. >> ainsley: what is happening in ireland? >> in relation to the prime minister and what he said, it was extraordinary, he tweeted part of a statement in relation to this little girl emily hand. whose father touched all of our hearts. he thought she was died and he said he was pleased she was dead not suffering at the hands of hamas and then told she was not dead and the pictures. finally his little girl back. however, no part of this story involved a lost and found scenario and prime minister of ireland tweeted she was lost and now found. there has been outrage around the world from the israeli and jewish communities and from ireland. she was taken from a kibbutz, nine years old, she was with her friend having a sleep over. taken for 50 days, held captive by a bunch of terrorists. he then referred people to his wider statement and i read that wider statement and three extraordinary things. he never mentioned hamas in the statement, never refer to people who did this as terrorists and he never condemns them. prime minister of ireland doing a terrible tone-deaf tweet and failing to categorize people who did this in the proper way or to issue any condemnation of what they had done. i think that is shameful dereliction of duty as prime minister. >> ainsley: 360 words and referred to emily as a hostage later in the statement. when the prime minister was criticized, theyed it was a biblical term, lost and not found. this is a little jewish girl. that was not lost on the community and israel. people are criticizing him, the media is not covering the stabings, what is the overall picture there and what is going on? >> another terrible situation happened a few days ago. you had an alggerian migrant known to the police. he had been caught with a knife and he was known to be trouble. he had become an irish citizen, but a potential problem. he goes beserk in the street and attacks a young woman, three children and one is critically ill. huge outrage from the people over the way it has been handled. there were bad scenes in terms of the way the mob behaved on the street after this and no one would condone the violence seen and it is fine to say that is not what people should be doing. trying to understand over what has happened here, growing concerns, about the flood of migrants intoi ireland as all over europe, he didn't seem to be concerned, concern was about reaction to what had happened, not the perpetrator or what this person had done again, the prime minister of ireland seemed tone d deaf, incapable of making the right call or right statement, one domestic and one on the international stage. big questions he has to answer about his leadership coming from his own people. >> ainsley: thank you so much. watch piers everyday at 4:30 on fox nation. the suspect accused of shooting three college students near university of vermont is appearing in court. alexandria hoff has the latest. >> alexandria: investigators say two students were wearing cafia, traditional palestinian skafshs and speaking arab ic. 48 year old jason eaton has been arrested near the scene in burlington, vermont. he is accused of openings fire on the students. the suspect did not speak before shooting. all three victims remain hospitalized, one attends brown university, one university and one trinity university, all of palestinian decent and in burlington to visit for a thanksgiving holiday gathering. burlington police chief says it is easy to see why this provoked concerns over a hate crime. he said there is more to learn. the department reached out to federal authorities to work with them on this case if that is the case. >> brian: thanks. now this, missouri senator eric eric schmitt pressing the army for back pay to soldiers discharged for refusing the covid vaccine. these mandates destroyed careers of brave volunteers. this as army sends letters to soldiers booted from service inviting them to rejoin. you have the opportunity to correct characterization of your discharge. senator eric schmitt joins us now. why does this matter to you? >> on individual level, these men and women volunteered to serve our country and built careers, these are our heroes and they were dismissed and disrespected with this covid tyranny. as we face charges with adversary like china, we have recruiting problems and the idea we dismissed these people. they need to be restored with back pay and apology from secretary austin. secretary austin had no plan to recruit the folks back, we want to make sure individuals are treated with respect they deserve. >> brian: this might be bipartisan, i would hope democrats would see what you see. army goals, short of recruiting. smallest army since 1940. 60,000 shy of our goal in 2022, 45,000 shy of our goal in terms of recruiting. goal was to get 65,000, we got 55,000. we need a reason to attract them. new army secretary will begin to do that. there is a lack of worry and concern about the size of our fighting force. money is there, people aren't. what is going on. >> i am glad you bring numbers up, i'm on armed services committee and we face china that has a bigger navy than weep have now, they are in space, the challenge is real for national security. we got to get away from divisive politics. they want to spend $140 on dei dividing military men and women. we are fighting that, too. we have to have the best fighting force in the world and maintain with people we need. what we shouldn't do and separate people by presser and press. time to come together as a country and say, we should support people, give them back pay and full rank and be all we can be. >> brian: can we see a commercial that makes the men and women look heroic, not in cartoon fashion working to get as many hostages out as possible before ceasefire ends. they were taken to the children's hospital outside of tel aviv. nine children are here along with two mothers receiving medical attention and psychological attention. among that group, abigail edan, the four year old who marked her birthday while held by hamas inside gaza. both her parents were murdered on october 7. she is a symbol of hope and reminder how brutal hamas has been. eleanor today we spoke with a grandmother who came to visit her grandchildren, here is what she had to say. >> hug them a lot. again and again later to see hostage released from gaza. today israeli prime minister netanyahu met with elon musk, the pair visited the border communities, a reminder of the massacre that took place on october 7. steve. >> steve: trey yingst live in israel, thank you. it is a long road ahead for the hostages, as they learn their communities are destroyed in many cases and family members and friends murdered. that includes four-year-old abigail, her parents were killed in front of her last month. a journalist based in southern israel and abigail's father roy was a close friend. good morning. >> hi, good morning, thank you for having me. >> steve: you bet. the story, abigail is on the cover of "new york post" today, safe at last and talks about how she was delivered from evil. you have known this family for a very long time. roy, your cameraguy for 10 years and there is a bond between you two that has to be so heartbreaking. >> yes and knowing that abigail is back home with her family where she should be, i think roy would be happy, at least that. it is so heartbreaking. she's with her family and she's smiling. she was very hungry. they weren't fed well at all. she has no idea what happened to her two parents. we don't know the extent of her knowledge about everything that happened, but she's looking forward to meeting her two brothers, her brother and sister who hid in the safe room in a closet for 14 hours. they thought that she was dead, as well. they couldn't be more thrilled to meet her. >> steve: indeed. last time abigail saw her father was when her father used his body to save her life. >> yes, he shielded her and he held her for the last time he was shot and she ran cover with his blood to the neighbor's house where a man a wife and family were also released. he got them back and they are side by side. their bedrooms in the hospital are next to one another and his wife, she really treated abigail as one of her own and i'm just so happy she had that. she had someone to hold her and to hug her because over 50 days, the family and actually everyone in israel because abigail really became this symbol of such an innocent child who was snatched from her home by monsters, by the terrorists of hamas. i was so happy she had them to be by her side. >> steve: she's been the world's four year old, everybody it just gets you right there. i understand somebody asked you to go to the family house and just look for important things and ironically in the house abigail lived in, you found a book, the mighty abigail, right? >> oh, wow, i think i'm going to cry. but yes, the title in hebrew reads "abigail the great," and in english, it is just "my hero," i think, it is an author from texas, i believe wrote this book and in the book abigail saves her father and wants to be his little hero and i just keep thinking of how roy saved and protected her and it is just i'm speechless. i read the book and just couldn't stop crying. i think he's -- this is when he can rest in peace, now that he knows abigail is safe and with her family and it is such a lovely book and abigail, she really is great. she's a hero, her and all the other little children and i think we shouldn't forget there are so many other hostages over there, mothers, children and we still need to fight to get them out. >> steve: absolutely, thank you very much. >> thank you. >> steve: all right. switching gears. coming up, antisemitism attitudes, mob of students in queens rioting this week, forcing a teacher who attended a pro-israel rally to hide in her office. let's check in with what happened at the high school in queens last week after a teacher said she felt she had to hide because a protest was happening inside the school. videos have gone viral. they happened last monday before the thanksgiving break. students who participated were waving palestinian flags and chanting free palestinian. the teacher felt she had to hide to protect herself. employee was quoted as saying i have worked hard to be supportive of our entire student body and advocate for our community and shaken to my core that called for violence against me last week. new york city schools are now investigating exactly what happened and the mayor eric adams of "new york post"ed online quote the vile show of anti-semitism at hillcrest high was motivated by ignorance, fueled hatred plain and simple and not tolerated in any of our schools let alone anywhere else in our city. we're better than this. we'll see if the school steps up security or does something different as kids get ready to those two aren't facing off this year it will be the future. >> ainsley: their policies are so different. policies on taxes and homelessness and covid and energy policies. nice to see the comparisons of the red states/blue states. so many people are moving out of blue states heading to florida and texas. >> lawrence: desantis has the record and newsom has the personality. and so it will be a battle of each of the policies but also a battle of the personalities. if it was all policy donald trump would be president. people selected joe biden because they liked the personality. desantis will have to make conservatism palatable for the american people. >> brian: you have to watch everything that gavin newsom said and ron desantis said and think about the arguments in realtime. you can't
