>> harris: it's election day for 37 states. voters across the country are headed to the polls and casting their ballots in state level and local elections and keeping an eye on today's major races, including two that are very close for governor. battles for control of senate legislatures and in new jersey and virginia. democrats and republicans are looking to gain momentum ahead of 2024 and when the white house in both chambers of congress will be up for grabs. '24 is going to be odd. this is "outnumbered," i'm harris faulkner, here can co-host kayleigh mcenany and emily compagno. joining us today fox news contributor tammy bruce and "fox and friends" co-host brian kilmeade, author of "teddy and booker t," brian kilmeade. voters set to decide tight races for governor, in kentucky cameron looking to unseatandy beshear and brandon unprecedented looking to become first democratic governor in 20 years. republicans in new jersey hope to flip both chamber of the state legislature and have not controlled either in two decades. they need to win six democrat held seats in the senate and seven in the assembly. commonwealth of virginia, every seat is up in the general assembly, every single one. republicans are looking to gain full control of the commonwealth legislature for the first time in a decade. education and parental rights and republican governor glenn youngkin does well on the topics and he says it is time for his party to finish the job. >> truly all blue has taken a right turn and we have to finish the work today by holding our house and flipping the senate. they have no plan to create jobs, no plan for family and parents, no plan for making communities safer, no plan for transforming behavioral health, we delivered on every single one of them. >> harris: tammy. >> tammy: what is interesting here, you have got, i reflect on 2022, there is this presumption and presume republicans are going to do well. we hope this is going to be a statement, these elections about what americans are willing to put up with. all these are local races and depend we cannot say we are not them, glenn youngkin has a great record, we know what he wants to do. there is abortion issue, democrats did well in in 2022. specific thing. that has been softened a bit because americans found out we can make a difference at the state level. are republicans going to make their case about what makes them different, how will they make a difference if they are running away from trump, they are not, get dragged in or can they say specifically it is about parent rights, american rights, safety, crime and education. the economy, they can attach back to democrat policies they can be changed and changed quickly. >> harris: it is about the candidate, daniel cameron has gotten hot with voters there. he's been out a lot and gotten key endorsements, maybe endorsements don't matter, he can help. >> kayleigh: he's a phenomenal candidate, i met him and recognized he is a rising star on on the cusp of beating an incumbent governor, a popular one, some polls show him up. what i'm looking for is number one issue black voters, mississippi, 40% black population, any leaning toward republicans? suburban women, lexington and virginia, do they come out and have republicans won them back? biggest thing tonight is state of ohio, issue one, abortion ballot, pro-lifers lost every initiative since dobbs, but tonight may be different. i talked to someone involved and he said, there is strong hope, not certainty, pro-choicers, the yes, yes abortion until birth. that is implication of ballot language, yes have 3-1 advantage. no's are confident in this, for first time they dropped, they have seen it drop below 50% mark, they believe within five points of prevailing and they need five points in voter turnout. last point, in the end, this is projected to be close race and not a blow out like we've seen in every other state. >> harris: what would change on abortion issue for republicans to squeeze the gap down? >> kayleigh: two things. you have governor dewine at top, strong, solid republican governor who has given voice to this issue. you have had pro-choice women come out and say this is too far. had pro-choice women saying this is too far. >> harris: finally, makes sense. emily. >> emily: it is fascinating when it comes down to it, it is really about activating the americans who feel there is such a cataclysmic disconnect between who is representing the school board, local and skiet levels and how they feel and the value they have at the kitchen table and with their children. so many of these close races to be had, issue are parental rights and education in schools, it is about you being able to raise your children in the way you want. it is important, think about sam harris, he came out and talked about this liberal podcaster that says the unlikeability factor of trump, talking about national election, will prevent so many people from voting for him. i will cut off my nose to spite my faith, his policies were healthy for the state, however, i can't bear voting for him. at the state and local level, self-titled democrat, pro-choice women, that have drawn the line in the sand, what point will they say enough? the way i want to raise my children, visibility i have to the curriculum, control i have over secrets in school and so many issues that really hit home, that trumps my allegiance to the democratic party and we have a cohesiveness, it is up to the individual to say, it stops here and i take control back. >> harris: that is critical, i live in the state of new jersey, usually cobalt blue, ads they are running are jaw-dropping and the topics you are talking about. our kids were locked down almost as long as new york and california. so we got to see a lot behind the scenes with our kids and woke talk on the zoom three years ago, so on and so forth. all that dwindled into ads that are effective for voters, seen places like new york and new jersey, look at candidates higher up the tickle like lee zeldin who did better in new york city, projected for decades for a republican running to have done. it is interesting, those issues play a role. another issue that plays, governor sununu told me this, let's watch. >> we don't do early voting in new hampshire, people show up on election day and we have highest voter turnout in the country. to your point, where efforts are allowed, play by the rules and be aggressive. they had success in california in 2022, new congressional seats, they focused on early voting and allow ballot harvesting in that insanity. those are rules, play by the rules, if you don't, you will lose. play by the rules, get right leadership and win elections to get back to normal. >> harris: it is about owning the talking points. >> brian: glenn youngkin on the docket for that, he acts like a democrat, vote early, vote early. >> harris: it worked. >> brian: he he flip keeps the house and flips senate, it will work. trump did not trust early voting, we said don't do it and now talking about it. glenn youngkin is all in on it. he talks about changing things from blue to red, rhode island did that, interesting to see, bruce blakeman is nassau county in new york and he's republican. and you have -- who did not work well with trump during the pandemic and that seat is up, he is term limited out. ed romaine is slated to win that. only thing left and trump within nine points, he will never win new york, i got it, no one won in four years. slowly, but surely, people waking up, that is interesting and i bring up winner of the governor's race in kentucky, i think is odds on favorite to be future of the party. beshear for democrats, donald trump won by 25 points, he can't recognize joe biden in a lineup, will not bring up his name. >> harris: he said it again yesterday. >> brian: this side, cameron, if he's able to get that seat back that will put him in a good spot. >> harris: successful state attorney general. had a lot of -- >> brian: impact. >> harris: quickly about donald trump inside the city of new york, have you looked outside? the crime is pretty bad. have you seen all the people sleeping on the sidewalk and -- >> brian: can't miss them. >> harris: people in sanctuary building, that is trump talking point right there. build the wall. >> brian: he's problem they got to sue in the city. he's the problem they put on trial. >> harris: we'll see. yeah, i hear you. coming up, a jewish man has died after a protest. it's one of the latest disturbing details in the horrific rise in antisemitic threats and attacks across america, we get into it. okay eve ryone, our mission is to provide complete, balanced nutrition for strength and energy. yay - woo hoo! ensure, with 27 vitamins and minerals, nutrients for immune health. and ensure complete with 30 grams of protein.
