Fort Madison, Ia-  A Fort Madison man has been arrested for multiple car thefts.
Fort Madison Police Chief Mark Rohloff told the Hawkeye that the department had received multiple reports of vehicles being stolen over a five-day period.
The thefts were very similar, with all of the cars unlocked with keys inside or having been started to warm up.  All the vehicles were later found abandoned.
At about 9 PM Sunday, a Fort Madison Officer spotted a suspect who had been previously seen in the general area of the thefts and approached him.
The suspect ran away and was eventually caught and arrested.  32-year-old Louis Metcalf III of Fort Madison was charged with two counts of Second Degree Theft and Interference with Official Acts.
