It is unclear if Fung - who lobbied years ago for the insurance industry - will return to lobbying. His wife - Rep. Barbara Ann Fenton-Fung - is a freshman state lawmaker this year.
Asked if lobbying will be part of Fung's new job, law firm spokeswoman Clare Eckert said: "Allan’s appointment is as an attorney and partner and he is part of the PLDO team! PLDO is a busy firm and no doubt, Allan will be busy as well."
In making the announcement of Fung's hiring, Gary R. Pannone, the law firm's managing principal, said: “Allan has served the Rhode Island community with distinction and is a dedicated public servant...His professionalism and leadership skills will be a tremendous addition to our firm and we are confident that he will have a significant impact with our lawyers, staff and clients.”
