Magaziner, McKee lead first quarter fund-raising
With 2022 governorâs race in sight, General Treasurer Seth Magaziner has the most campaign cash, with nearly $1.3 million

PROVIDENCE â With a highly competitive 2022 Democratic gubernatorial primary taking shape, General Treasurer Seth Magaziner raked in nearly $300,000 in the first three months of 2021, the most heâs ever raised in a quarter.
And Governor Daniel J. McKee, the former lieutenant governor who replaced Gina M. Raimondo in March, raised about $285,000 in the first quarter, more than doubling his campaign cash.

The 2021 first-quarter campaign reports will be a critical early indicator in the race for Rhode Island Governor in 2022.
Campaign reports for the first quarter must be made public by May 1. The Democratic primary is just 16 months away.

Governor Dan McKee was elevated to Governor in February and expectations are high for his fundraising for the quarter.

It is unclear if Fung - who lobbied years ago for the insurance industry - will return to lobbying. His wife - Rep. Barbara Ann Fenton-Fung - is a freshman state lawmaker this year.
Asked if lobbying will be part of Fung s new job, law firm spokeswoman Clare Eckert said: Allan’s appointment is as an attorney and partner and he is part of the PLDO team! PLDO is a busy firm and no doubt, Allan will be busy as well.
