The team at Moranbah Airport is on a high after unveiling its new look and name.
The airport has been renamed the Moranbah âBunhdharaâ Airport in recognition of the Traditional Owners, the Barada Barna Peoples.
Bunhdhara means sky in Barada Barna language â making it the perfect fit.
The airport boasts a new diversity walkway and signage, along with a number of Indigenous heritage artefacts that have been gathered from BHP and BMA operations over the years.
New artwork has been installed at the airport and is titled
Heading Home.
It was created by Barada Barna artist Elaine Chambers to reflect what was on peopleâs minds when they head back to the Moranbah area for work, or simply to connect with the country again.
