FCSO to upgrade Tasers | News, Sports, Jobs

JOHNSTOWN — The Fulton County Sheriff’s Department is upgrading its Tasers.
Sheriff Richard Giardino recently requested permission to enter into a five-year contract with Axon to purchase upgraded Tasers for his department.
The contract was tentatively approved by the Board of Supervisors’ Public Safety Committee, with the full board deciding Monday.
“A total upgrade would end up costing $41.000,” Giardino said.
Between 2016-2020, he said the sheriff’s office purchased and/or maintained nine Tasers for the department at a cost of $26,510 — an average of about $5,302 per year. He said the sheriff’s office has a total of $10,600 regarding Tasers in its 2021 budget.
