In asia overnight markets were lower as well. The worst performer though was the kospi in korea and hong kong, down just 1 2 of 1 . Now some of the top stories this morning. History was made on the Supreme Court. I, Amy Coney Barrett, do solemnly swear. That i will support and defend the constitution of the United States. That i will support and defend the constitution of the United States. Maria yes, it was the oldest member of the Supreme Court, clarence thomas, signing in, swearing in the newest and youngest member of the court, Amy Coney Barrett, during an outdoor ceremony at the white house yesterday, this all happening eight days before the election. Barrett was confirmed by the senate 5248 with Susan Collins being the only republican to vote against judge barrett. We are one week from election day, President Trump campaigning in three states today with rallies in michigan, wisconsin and the nebraska. Joe biden will make multiple stops in georgia which hasnt backed a democrat for president since bill clinton back in 1992. The clock is ticking on mailin voting, the u. S. The Chinese Financial Technology giant is carrying out a dual listing in hong kong and shanghai, set to raise 34. 5 billion, making it the biggest ipo of all time. Markets looking to rebound today. We have fractional gains yesterday after yesterdays selloff. Dow industrials are up 23, the nasdaq up 35. The number of coronavirus cases in the United States and europe causing concern over more lockdowns which could harm economies across the globe and that was behind yesterdays major selloff. Dow industrials down 650 points. That was two and a quarter percent. The nasdaq down 190. Joining me now is the cmc markets chief market analyst, michael hughton and michael can cantorw at thiitz. Also joining us this morning, Dagen Mcdowell and James Freeman. Thank you for being here. Michael, let me kick it off with you. What do think went on yesterday . Is it an indicator of whats to come. Theres two things investors look for, growth and visibility. Right now with stimulus efforts up in the air, the election a week away, covid cases rising globally, theres very little visibility and Big Questions about growth Going Forward. So i think theres a bit of uncertainty with the market having done so well over the last several months that investors are taking a breather and looking for some guidance. Maria so what do you want to do . What are you telling clients right now, michael . Do you want to take advantage of this weakness and buy into it or do you think this could be longlasting . We want to be taking advantage of strong fundamental companies that are showing some weakness for whatever reason here. We dont think its time to swing for the fences and try to find deep Value Companies that have lagged most of this recovery so far with the hope that everythings going to turn around on a dime. I think that investors are going to continue to have to wait for a broader based economy until we get a vaccine, which hopefully is sooner than later, but we dont think its coming up quite imminently, unfortunately. So investors should stick with good fundamentals and companies that have guidance and right now in earnings season, theres 140 companies that have already reported and Many Companies have Beat Estimates but theres still a lack of guidance for earnings right now and thats troubling. Maria thats a good point because these companies dont have the visibility as you said earlier. Michael, what about tensioner period . Its in the Earnings Period. Its in full swing. Merck, 3m, caterpillar, as soon as that hits the tape, well have the numbers. Eli lilly and pfizer also reporting this morning and microsoft will report after the bell. Your thought on the Earnings Period so far and where you are actually seeing growth,. Good morning, maria. I think theres a huge amount of anxiety at the moment. I think an awful lot of the easy money has been made. We saw big amounts of fiscal stimulus as a result of the q2 lockdowns. At the moment, i think while the numbers that were seeing out of Companies Like hsbc, the u. S. Banks are better than expected. I think what investors are looking for Going Forward is increasingly uncertain so i think its very difficult to identify where the Growth Opportunities are now. At a period, i think of increasing uncertainty, youve got the u. S. Elections next week, i think theres very little likelihood of further stimulus, fiscal stimulus, coming down the pike from politicians out of the u. S. I think were too far against the election for any stimulus plan to come out of the u. S. And european fiscal stimulus, european leaders have agreed to a package of 750 billion euros. That hasnt actually been ratified yet and its unlikely to be ratified much before the First Quarter of next year which means that the central banks, federal reserve, European Central bank, are going to continue to have to try and do some very heavy lifting between now and the First Quarter of next year and i think its important that investors do not rush back into the market at this point in time because i think were going to endure a significant amount of volatility as we head into yearend. So i would put an awful lot more money into cash and wait for opportunities to present themselves. Maria and michael ca youve bn looking at growth at a reasonable price. Where are you finding it . Well, thats really an idea to look within every sector. Its notice sectorspecific. But in general, sectors that are growing that are still somewhat reasonable, you can still find some value in the Consumer Discretionary sector, in the industrial sector, one of the themes we like here is playing this rateless recovery, a recovery in Economic Activity thats not seeing Interest Rates rise and its not something weve seen for a long time. So even the Consumer Discretionary sector, an area like housing and consumer durables, obviously we need jobs to come back but as long as Interest Rates stay low, we think that can continue to help support the consumer or at least not hurt the consumer as you typically get. Maria i think its a really good point because the consumer has held up really well but i was a little concerned by that decline in new home sales that we saw this week, down 3. 5 , and wondering if that changes the story. Were going to talk about that in the next hour in the word on wall street, its great to see you both gentlemen. Thank you so much. Thank you. Maria and your morning mover this morning is hsbc, shares of europes largest bank by assets soaring this morning after beating estimates overnight. The asian bank, hsbc, Hong Kong Bank is up this morning, 6 and twothirds percent, saying it will continue of to restructure and cut costs. It might start charging for accounts that are currently free to customers. Well keep watching hsbc, particularly as we go into that huge ant ipo which will talk about coming up in the show. Coming up, history in the making, judge Amy Coney Barrett officially becoming a Supreme Court justice, democrats and joe biden lashing out. The reaction, coming up. And later, fox news senior strategic analyst, retired general jack keane is here to talk about chinas retaliation against americas efforts to deepen security ties with taiwan which beijing claims is its territory. Next hour of, the hunter biden bombshell sparked a rush of early voters wanting to change their votes. Former white house chief strategist steve bannon is here. Plus, Herschel Walkers son, weighing in on the black and hispanic vote before election day. Plus, greg stubbe gives us a look ahead to the big tech hearing on capitol hill. Youre watching mornings with maria live on fox business. Make you come alive. I can take you higher. Nonvalvular afib can mean a lifetime of blood thinners. And if youre troubled by falls and bleeds, worry follows you everywhere. Over 100,000 people have left blood thinners behind with watchman. Its a onetime, minimally invasive procedure that reduces stroke risk and bleeding worryfor life. Watchman. Its one time. For a lifetime. And im still going for my best. Even though i live with a higher risk of stroke due to afib not caused by a heart valve problem. So if theres a better treatment than warfarin, im on top of that. Eliquis. Eliquis is proven to reduce stroke risk better than warfarin. Plus has significantly less major bleeding than warfarin. Eliquis is fdaapproved and has both. Whats next . Getting out there. Dont stop taking eliquis unless your doctor tells you to, as stopping increases your risk of having a stroke. Eliquis can cause serious and in rare cases fatal bleeding. Dont take eliquis if you have an artificial heart valve or abnormal bleeding. While taking eliquis, you may bruise more easily and it may take longer than usual for any bleeding to stop. Seek immediate medical care for sudden signs of bleeding, like unusual bruising. Eliquis may increase your bleeding risk if you take certain medicines. Tell your doctor about all planned medical or dental procedures. Ask your doctor about eliquis. And if your ability to afford your medication has changed, we want to help. Maria welcome back. An historic evening last night, judge Amy Coney Barrett sworn in as the youngest Supreme Court justice at the white house in a ceremony last night following a successful 5248 senate vote. Joe biden has ruled out changing term limits meanwhile but says hell have a Commission Look at what changes could be made to the countrys heyest court. Take a listen highest court. Take a listen. There is a question about whether or not its a lifetime appointment. Im not going to attempt to change that at all. Theres some literature among constitutional scholars about the possibility of going from one court to another court, not saying the whole time in the Supreme Court. I have made no judgment, my word, my word is i made no judgment, theres a group of serious constitutional scholars have a number of ideas how we should proceed from this point on and thats what were going to be doing. Were going to give them 180 days, god willing, if im elected, from the time im sworn in, to be able to make such a recommendation. Maria joining me right now is former obama director of press advance and Global Situation room ceo, johanna mat matts mat. What do you think well hear from joe biden as relates to the court, the Supreme Court . Yeah, joe biden has a point, right. The republicans had eight months to hear the nomination of Merrick Garland under president obamas tenure and they refused. And now with eight days before the election, they pushed through a Supreme Court nominee and, you know, it really reeks of trying to steal political power and i dont think any american wants our justice to be political. We want justice for americans to be in the rights of the American People. And so because this reeks so much of political power, i think its high time that republicans and democrats who believe in justice for the American People come together and analyze how we can actually do Better Together for the American People. Maria yeah. I dont think it reeks of political power at all, actually. I think what would reek of political intervention would be if joe biden stacks the court with liberals. That would reek of politics for sure. Well, no, theyve actually they held the Supreme Court seat until they had power and then they packed the court as soon as they had power. So, i mean, Kamala Harris made the point maria they didnt pack the court. Thats incorrect. They didnt pack the court at all. I understand that the democrats are upset that this president will end up being one of the most consequential president s of our time because he was able to appoint three Supreme Court seats. I understand that. But thats not packing the court. That happens to be the fact that President Trump was in power it is, it is. Maria and available to expanding the court. Maria its not. They did not expand the court. There have been nine Supreme Court justices since 191880 1880. We still have nine since 1880. Youre talking about expanding the court. Maria liz, your reaction. Theyre not expanding the court. Theyre not expanding the court. They didnt pack the court, nor did they expand the court. Its been nine Supreme Court justices since 1880 and thats what it is today. Liz, jump in. They left it at eight for eight months. Following the constitution is not packing the Supreme Court. Youre absolutely right, maria. And it was a historymaking day yesterday, the first working mother to ever sit on the Supreme Court, someone who loves the constitution and loves the United States of america and what did Chuck Schumer say, it was one of americas darkest days. Thats how poisonous democrats have become with their politics and now you not only have the leader of the democrats in the senate and the house and the nominee for president on the democrat side all open to blowing up the Judicial Branch just because they didnt get their way, just because they lost elections and elections have consequences. Well, republicans follow through on the promises we make to the American People and we also follow the constitution. Thats why we filled that seat with the most qualified nominee weve seen in generations and we know justice Amy Coney Barrett is going to be a phenomenal justice, associate justice on the Supreme Court. Maria let me move on because there are moves in the swing states right now. Usa today poll averages shows President Trump has gained ground in nine out of the 12 swing states including arizona, florida, ohio, joe biden is Still Holding onto a lead in most states and has made gains in texas, iowa and michigan but are we seeing a repeat of what we saw in 2016, joanna, where joe biden is not going to some of the important states, hes putting a lid on it many days while the president is out speaking directly to voters . Can joe biden win this even with the fact that you are seeing this turnout for President Trump increasingly . Oh, absolutely. Joe biden can absolutely win this. Just with all due respect, liz, Ruth Bader Ginsburg was also a working mother so i am thrilled to see more mothers get power but i dont think President Trump did her any favors and i dont think hes done any of the American People any favors. I mean, were in a situation where weve got more than 200,000 deaths because of his inaction on the coronavirus. And so maria it wasnt really his inaction. It was joe biden who yeah, theyre all in play. Maria it was joe biden who said joanna, it was joe biden who said President Trump cutting off travel from china was glee know fau xenophobic. That was joe biden that said that. All right. Ladies, its good to see you this morning. Have a great day. Joanna and liz joining us. Be sure to check out my new book, the cost, trump, china and american revival, its out later today. You can preorder it or go to a shop today, because its on newsstands. Well be right back. I, Amy Coney Barrett, do solemnly swear. That i will support and defend the constitution of the United States. That i will support and defend the constitution of the United States. Maria an amazing night last night, the oldest member of the Supreme Court swearing in the newest and youngest member, judge Amy Coney Barrett. Both of them the most faithful judges on the Supreme Court, the Senate Confirming her with 5248 vote. Watch this. Today, monday, october 26th, 2020, will go down as one of the darkest days in the 231 year history of the United States senate. Tonight we can place a woman of unparalleled ability and temperment on the Supreme Court. Maria the 48yearold mother of seven will take her oath, allowing her to begin work as a Supreme Court associate justice. Dagen mcdowell, youre talking about only the fifth woman on the high court, the 115th justice. Dagen can someone explain to senator Chuck Schumer, at least show him where the line is between hyperbole and id yow y because thats dumb, what he said. Its pure and simple. It only needs a one syllable word to describe it. The democrats are in part responsible for what happened, for the ascension of Amy Coney Barrett to the highest court in the land because harry reid and the democrats got rid of the filibuster an lower judicial appointments back in 2013, so the democrats laid the groundwork for this and i just want to say, and i said this on the five last night, and i will repeat it here. That dems constantly democrats constantly talk, they love to talk about womens empowerment and respect for women but that only applies to women who you agree with them, with the liberals politically. This womans life, both professional and personal, should be lauded and appreciated and honored. She is an icon and an inspiration for all women in this country or she should be. And liberal women should speak up about that and you will never hear a word of support from them. Maria you are absolutely right, spoton. James, the democrats like to talk about women and women power except if its a conservative woman. Then, all bets are off. James yeah. And i dont think that Chuck Schumer even believes what hes saying there, to be honest. I think hes feeling under a great deal of pressure on a potential primary challenge from alexandria ocasiocortez and i think he feels like hes got to walk out on that limb of extremist rhetoric. But this appointment is of an outstanding judge, now justice, and i think we have a our book, the cost coming out, and part of the thesis is win or lose next week, this is a successful presidency. And i think this appointment really underlines that. You now have three justices appointed by President Trump who are outstanding originalists and you have almost as many court of appeals judges in one trump term as in two obama terms. It is a significant legacy in terms of the judiciary and judges who will uphold the rule of law and that should be welcomed by all americans. Maria it really should be. It was incredibly successful. Well talk more about that. We have a segment coming up, zeroing into our new book, the cost. But first, fox news senior strategic analyst general jack keane is here, hell come up next to talk about chinas retaliation against the u. S. s efforts to deepen security ties with taiwan. Well get into it coming up. Then the future of technology at your fingertips, one ceo is pre predicting the next media trend he says will dominate the tech landscape. Dont miss it. Were looking at media and tech this morning. Back in a moment. I knew about the tremors. But when i started seeing things, i didnt know what was happening. So i kept it in. He started believing things that werent true. I knew something was wrong. But i didnt say a word. During the course of their disease around 50 of people with parkinsons may experience hallucinations or delusions. But now, doctors are prescribing nuplazid. The only fda approved medicine. Proven to significantly reduce hallucinations and delusions related to parkinsons. Dont take nuplazid if you are allergic to its ingredients. Nuplazid can increase the risk of death in elderly people with dementiarelated psychosis and is not for treating symptoms unrelated to parkinsons disease. Nuplazid can cause changes in heart rhythm and should not be taken if you have certain abnormal heart rhythms or take other drugs that are known to cause changes in heart rhythm. Tell your doctor about any changes in medicines youre taking. The most common side effects are swelling of the arms and legs and confusion. We spoke up and it made all the difference. Ask your parkinsons specialist about nuplazid. Maria welcome back. We are waiting on earnings. Weve got caterpillar, 3m and eli lilly out with quarterly numbers right now. Lets get to Cheryl Casone with the numbers. Cheryl lets start with caterpillar, a dow component. The Company Coming in, it is a beat for earnings and it is a slight beat for revenue. Earnings per share estimate, a buck 18, they came in at a buck 22, stock is down almost half a percent in the premarket. And then it was down about 3 so its coming back a little bit. Revenue, 9. 8 billion, they came in at 9. 9 billion. I want to say year over year, this is 54 drop year over year for earnings per share for caterpillar. The stock is up 10 yeartodate. Down half a percent right now. Theyve got a big order backlog. Well see if they talk about that on the conference call. Lets move to the other dow component, 3m. Taking a look at that stock right now. The earnings per share, the estimate was a buck 71. They had a nice beat here, came in at 243. The estimate for revenue, 5. 88 billion. They came in much stronger than that. Were looking at the revenue estimates again, the revenue coming in 8. 32 billion. 8. 32 billion, round that up to 8. 4 if you want to. Thats on 3m. Theyll continue to provide Monthly Sales updates but theyre not giving guidance. 3m i this is just crossing. They say they dont want to provide guidance to wall street. Half of the companies in earnings season are telling us they dont want to give us guidance. And then theyre also saying they cant really estimate the full duration, the magnitude of the pandemic and the effect on business. Want to leave you with eli lilly, a lot of news has been crossing on eli. First to the earnings per share estimate, it was a buck 71. They came in at a buck 74. And then the revenue side, the estimate, 5. 88 billion. Slight miss, 5. 74 billion. Again, a buck 71 coming in on the earnings per share. So whats interesting about eli is that this is a company that they just had one of their antibody tests that was going through trials actually was pulled. Theyre saying thats a failure. That was for coronavirus patients that are hospitalized. But the company is saying that they want to continue with with trials on this antibody treatment for patients that are actually that are medium like moderate to mildly sick. There should be some kind of breath ahead for that when it comes to eli. A lot of crossing numbers many back over to you. Maria eli lilly shares down 5 as you were talking, cheryl. Actually, as you were talking, the dow industrials popped. Its up about 60 points, even though caterpillar and a 3m which are dow components are negative. So well watch those stories. Caterpillar is a real important story in terms of an indicator for the global economy. Meanwhile, we want to look at fighting terror, a u. S. Drone strike in northwestern syria took out seven alqaida affiliated leaders according to the u. S. Central command, the operation taking place thursday of last week. While the seven killed were not identified, u. S. Officials say that the move will certainly be a blow to the groups influence in the area. Joining me now is fox news senior strategic analyst, general jack keane. Good to see you this morning. Your reaction to what took place thursday and its impact. Its a positive step. Whats going on in syria is a little off the screen in terms of the American Peoples knowledge but this alqaida group in syria is one of the most for mi formidable ones e world. Theyre trying to overthrow the assad regime so they can establish a sanctuary and safe haven. The reason we have concerns about this group, from their beginnings theyve had aspirations to you attack the United States and our european allies. So from time to time when we have had good actionable intelligence, we have hit them. We did it on 15 october and we did it again very cons question anconsequentially on 22 october, as you mentioned. So this is a group that gives us a lot of concern. Were not concerned about every radical Islamic Terrorist Group in the world. Theres many of them out there. Most of them we dont do anything about. What gets us concerned are those groups that may impact the security and safety of the American People and thats what this focus is here today. Maria i want to ask you about china in a moment because we do have a big deal crossing the tape right now, xylinks is getting acquired, amd to acquire xylinks. Let me first ask you about peace in the middle east. Because the Trump Administration announced another brokered new peace deal between israel and sudan, putting the two countries on track to begin trade and economic negotiations. This coming after similar agreements organized and led by the Trump Administration between bahrain and israel, the United Arab Emirates and israel. I spoke with white house chief of staff mark meadows on sunday morning futures about this. Heres what he said about future deals. Another victory, normalizing relationships with israel. Are we going to see more countries and whats at stake . Well, we will see more countries coming in. The president has been not only a leader, but hes been very proactive on trying to make sure that peace in the middle east is really not just a dream but a reality and i can tell you that for him, its all about our men and women in the military, wanting to make sure that we dont get involved in endless wars and yet they have to understand that theres an american strength and an american might. Hes made sure that the military is wellfunded. But listen, if you had asked me even three years ago or three months ago if we would have an agreement between sudan and israel, i would not have put the odds at a great betting odd. But never bet against this president. Maria general, this has become a priority for this president. Your reaction . Yeah. Well, as weve said before, this is a major seed change thats taken place in the middle east, its introducing a new era, for sure. It is happening because of the strategic threat that iran presents to the region and that President Trump and his first visit overseas in the summer of 2017 stood in the room with 55 leaders from the region and told them i stand with you against the number one strategic threat to the region, iran. And then the next year he came out of the nuclear deal, which meant that all the arabs in the region, arab nations, and israel were opposed to that deal when the Obama Administration had struck that deal back in 2015. So that was very significant. And the other thing that is significant and that really awokeen people in the region is when he killed qassem soleimani. Because he was an iconic figure and sort of untouchable. And the arabs said to themselves oh, my, this president is really serious. So those were catalysts and theres a yearning certainly for stability, security, and economic prosperity. And thats one of the things thats happening here, maria. Iisrael has a lot to offer in terms of trading with these countries. They want israels innovation and creativity. Maria i love it. I think this is so spectacular. And significant. You dont hear a word about it on the Mainstream Media. This is so enormous. Happy to hear that there are more deals on the way as well. Let me ask you about the other major threat the United States faces and thats china. The Chinese Government announced sanctions on three American Defense companies for proposed arm sales to taiwan, lockheed martin, boeing and raytheon targeted as they plan a 1. 8 billion weapons package, the Chinese Communist party claiming that taiwan is its territory, says that the arm sales damages chinese sovereignty. Your reaction to this and what happens next with regard to taiwan and the potential of china and its overreach . Theres a whole other story developing and thats around huawei, 30 countries have already banned the use of huawei. This morning we see an enormous deal in the Semiconductor Space in the u. S. , Advanced Micro Devices or amd will acquire xylinks, creating a high computing leader, a 35 billion deal. Talk to us first about taiwan, general. Yeah, theres another 2 billion deal coming in terms of arm shipments to taiwan from the United States, very, very significant. Certainly china has been squeezing taiwan here for a long time. Most recently in the last year, since president xi won reelection in january of this year, they have upped their game in doing this. This is the right move that were taking. I think we should take another step and actually declare that we would defend taiwan, something no president has ever said. I think its high time to make that declaration. I think the congress of the United States by and large is already there. Yes, were going to see increasing tensions though as a result of it. Maria general, its great to see you this morning. Come back soon. Well see you next week. General jack keane joining us, as always, love having you sir. For more on the threat from the Chinese Communist party, go out and order my new book, the cost. ,trump, china, and american revival from myself and James Freeman who is with us all morning. Breaking news, add a vaned micro devices, amd, is going to acquire xylinks in a 35 billion deal, this is an all stock deal. Here are the details of this deal. This is 135 billion. This is going to be a big boost to the video game industry, certainly. All stock transaction, combined enterprise value of approximately 135 billion for amd to acquire xylinks. Amd says it will lead the combined company as ceo, the ceo of amd will lead the combined company. Expects to achieve operational efficiencies of 300 billion within 18 months of the closing. One of the industries that will get impacted is the video game industry. Its been seeing steady growth. It has been reaching dominant status largely thanks to a boom from the pandemic. Apple and google have gotten into the subscription industry. Sony and microsoft expanded their platforms to streaming services, gambling venues and home theaters. Joining us now is the founder and ceo of activate who is out with the 2021 outlook on technology and media. Its great to see you. Thank you for being here. Its great to be here and congratulations on the new book. Maria thank you so much, michael. It was really a pleasure. But let me ask you about how the media landscape is changing. Give us your takeaways from your most recent report in terms of how things will change in the coming year. Well, a number of things changed dramatically during shelter in place. First of all, most people increased their usage of technology and media and added almost 30 minutes a day of technology and media time. Second of all, they ended up shopping not only did they end up shopping more, doing nor ecommerce shopping but they ended up increasing their shopping of grocery and they totally blew the roof off of online grossing shipping. They bought vr head sets, they played enormous amounts of video games. Thats changing the nature of the technology business. Whats most important is video games because video games, even though this is an industry that is today 145 billion, its going to grow to 200 billion within the next three years. More importantly, its going to be a place where people spend more of their time, reshaping what people do. So things used to be able to do on the web, youre going to do inside of video games, everything from shopping to search to messaging. Maria even shopping on video games, michael . This is really interesting. I mean, theres no doubt that the pandemic has changed media and how its viewed. Are we going to be doing this once were done with the pandemic, that these media changes will be permanent and you just said shopping within video games. I was initially really surprised when i started understanding the shopping that goes on on instagram. Is that what youre talking about . Yeah. I mean, whats fascinating about it is that people are spending so much time inside of games that theres so many things that are going on. So we see concerts inside of fortnite. There have been at least four or five concerts just in the last month inside of fortnite. Weddings inside, actual weddings inside of animal crossing. Weve seen casinos inside of games like grand theft auto. So whats happened is people are their perception of real life and whats happening in games is really blending together. Maria michael, these stocks have already moved. Do you think were going to see investors react to all of this as well . I mean, thats going to be the leadership in terms of how were spending money, right . There must be tons of growth on the horizon here. Right. Whats fascinating is each of the Major Technology platforms is getting into the Gaming Business. So youve already got each of them are filling out their parts of the stacks. Yesterday facebook, for example, announced its Cloud Gaming Service which is joining Google Service as well as amazon is planning to launch a service. We believe that each of these companies is going to start to acquire Video Game Companies whether theyre big or whether theyre small, because relative to their market caps, theyre relatively inexpensive. The other thing thats fascinating is the company that has the biggest presence in games is microsoft. So you thought microsoft was just enterprise. They have all of their presence up and down the gaming stack. Maria yeah. Thats a really good point. A lot of people said what is microsoft doing in gaming when they first started pushing the Gaming Business and doing acquisitions there and in fact it was a really smart move for satya nadella. Great to see you this morning. That is a wonderful report on the 2021 changes for media and tech. As you were talking, michael, pfizer and merck came out with Quarterly Earnings. They are market moving numbers. Lets get to Cheryl Casone with more on that. Merck, i want to get to this one, the estimate a buck 44, they came in at 1. 74 and a nice beat on revenue, 1221 was the estimate that, came in at 12. 55. I want to say that their Animal Health sales jumped 9 , veterinary medicines, and they saw a big piece of strength with the keytruda drug, sales jumped 21 . The company is giving us a little positive move there as you can see on your screen. As for pfizer, 71cents was the estimate, they came in at 72, 12. 32 billion on the revenue, they came in at 12. 13. Maria, back to you. Maria all right. Well be right back. Thank you, cheryl. James yeah, its an industry question and as youve noted, theres also a strategic issue. Your top stories right now, 7 0. History made, judge Amy Coney Barrett was sworn in as the 115th Supreme Court justice in an outdoor white house ceremony yesterday. Tipping the scales for conservative judges for the First Time Since 1930. We are previewing judge barretts judicial oath happening later today. Markets moving after a solid round of Quarterly Earnings and a big deal in the semiconductor industry. The dow industrials up 1 o 109 appointments, the s p higher by 15 and a quarter. So far weve heard from 3m. Caterpillar and merck, posting better than expected earnings for the third quarter. We heard from eli lilly and pfizer. As you can see, there are the stocks this morning. Merck the only one showing a gain. This is a departure from yesterday where we saw all the major indices down sharply. In fact, the market ended off of the session lows but the dow industrials clocked in a decline of 650 points. A big tech deal to tell you about, Advanced Micro Devices is acquiring its rival, xilinx in a 35 billion all stock deal. The stocks are on the move this morning. The road to the white house, we hit the one week to go mark, americans are headed to the polls in just seven short days. President trump and joe biden hitting the campaign trail today, hard, as they begin the final push before election day. Meanwhile, stimulus negotiations losing momentum again. Time is running out for lawmakers to make a deal before november 3rd. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi continues to say shes optimistic. Congressman tom reed told us yesterday on this program if we dont have a deal by election day, we may not have one until february. And todays the day, our new book is out, the cost, trump, china and american revival out in stores right now. We are previewing some of the chapters all week long this morning and for the week, mornings with maria is live right now. European markets this morning are higher, take a look. Weve got more of a mixed story, the fq100 is up 14, the cac is down 42, the dax lower by 3 points, off of the low as the market in the u. S. Is moving higher, at the highs of the morning. So weve seen a pretty good bounce in europe. Asian markets were lower overnight, fractional moves. As you will see, the worst performer was korea, down one half of 1 . Some of the top stories this morning. History made on the Supreme Court. I, Amy Coney Barrett, do solemnly swear. That i will support and defend the constitution of the United States. That i will support and defend the constitution of the United States. Maria it was a beautiful ceremony as the oldest member of the Supreme Court, clarence thomas, swears in the newest and youngest member of the court, Amy Coney Barrett, during an outdoor ceremony at the white house, this all happening just a week before the election. Barrett was confirmed by the senate yesterday, 5248 with Susan Collins being the only gop member to vote against judge barrett. Shell be giving a judicial oath later today. We are just one week away from election day. President trump is campaigning in three states later today with rallies planned in michigan, wisconsin, and nebraska. Meanwhile, joe biden will make multiple stops in georgia which has not backed a democrat for president since bill clinton back in 1992. Covid19 cases surging to an alltime high in the United States. The sevenday average totaled more than 69,000 cases in the u. S. This is a new study is conducting that covid19 antibodies may become less effective over time, making it entirely difficult to develop a herd immunity. More than 8. 7 million cases have been confirmed in the United States. More than 225,000 have died. Sheldon adproperties include thn and the palazzo casinos and sands expo and convention center. The potential sale will concentrate the companys portfolio entirely on macau and singapore. Macau has been subsidizing the business anyway, thats where the money is. Las vegas sands this morning are up, the shares are up 3 and a quarter percent ahead of any potential deal. A big tech bundle, Advanced Micro Devices says it reached a deal to acquire xilinx in an all stock deal valued at 35 billion. This deal will create the industrys leading High Performance computing company, expected to finalize before the end of 2021. Stocks are moving, xilinx is up better than 10 and amd is lower by almost 4 . Jet you blue out with its Quarterly Earnings right now. Lets get to Cheryl Casone. Another window into how the airlines are faring in this pandemic. Cheryl theres some concerns in this earnings report. Let me give you the numbers. The estimate was for a loss of a buck 96 a share, they lost a buck 75 a share on an adjusted basis, retch ne revenue expect f 446 million, the revenue came in at 492 million. The load factor, the amount of people getting onto their planes went from 85 a year ago, its now at 42 . Thats pretty incredible. The cash burn for the airlines, thats a big thing. Jetblue is burning through you 6. 1 million in cash per day. Theyre sitting on about 13 billion in liquidity right now. Excuse me, 3. 1 billion in liquidity. We start having a conversation about the airlines without a stimulus package or any type of Government Action for the airlines. Were looking at jetblue right now. Maria its a shame they cant agree on something. I was stunned yesterday when congressman reed said if they dont get a deal done which includes aid for the air alliance this week, they wont get a deal until february. Thats going to be a tough road for the airlines. Jetblue not moving much on those earnings as cheryl just brought us. Time for the word on wall street, top investors watching your money. Joining me now is dennis garttman, ryan payne and rebecca walser. Thank you for being here. Rebecca, want to look at futures, boosted by earnings reported this morning. We are expecting a pretty big gain at the start of trading. Yesterday was a completely different story, coronavirus fears, stimulus uncertainty sent the market down sharply, dow industrials down 650 points. How should we read yesterdays selloff and are you expecting the earnings story to dictate where this market goes next . Yeah, maria, yesterday was not fun. I hate those days. Very painful. I was hoping for this overreaction kind of thing today and i think thats what were going to have so far. Unless we get earnings thats unexpected. So i think for today weve got obviously just microsoft on the tech front and a then weve got pfizer, merck, eli lilly, mostly pharm today, those kinds of things, i think yesterday was an overreaction. Im really waiting for people it was really interesting, maria, how the news hyped the case increases this weekend, it was almost like a drum beat, like oh, my gosh the second wave is here and total desperation for the markets. I dont see that. I think we need to focus more on hospitalization utilization and death rates because those are a lot better. This is not the virus that we were dealing with in march and april. Investors dont need to panic. The election is one week from today. Things are going to look better. Lets just try to maintain a sea of calm and not overreact to case counts because remember, case counts is never what it was about, it was always about hospital utilization, if its going to make the hospitals unaccessible or death rates and all of those are looking so much better even as the case counts are rising. I would like investors to be calm this week. Maria its a good point. Because when you see more lockdowns, people start questioning the backdrop, the economic backdrop that has been so strong and housing has been one of those strong points, dennis. But yesterday we saw news that september home sales missed expectations. Down 3 andahalf percent month over month. Are we looking at the Housing Market getting fatigue here . This has been the leading area of strength in the broader economy. Whats the impact here, dennis . Maria, its possible that its getting a bit fatigued. But let us understand, we were over a million annualized units in Single Family homes only a month andahalf ago. Weve dropped back under a million. Lets understand that going through from late 15 to early last year we were averaging around 600,000. So if this were a stock if you looked at the chart of housing sales over the course of the last five years you would buy it because its broken out on the upside. Also, remember, these are very small polls that are taken. This number is prone to enormous revisions from one month to the next. The fact that were at or very near a million annualized units for Single Family home sales is really quite astonishing to me. Its a very, very strong signal for the economy. People are moving out of their parents basements and buying houses for the first time in a long time and i dont see this ending any time soon. As long as Interest Rates remain where they are and i dont see them rising too much over the course of the next yea year or , Single Family home sales are likely to remain over 900,000 annualized, around 1 Million Units on a consistent basis. Very impressive. Maria this is obviously a rate story. We have rock bottom Interest Rates. Thats not changing any time soon. So well watch the Housing Market continue its leadership. Ryan, we had breaking news. Lets talk tech. Amd is acquiring gli xilinx in a 35 billion deal, thats one area of technology we are looking at this morning. Semiconductors, weve got a big deal on the tape. Also, youve got the ceos from facebook, twitter and google set to testify before the Senate Commerce committee. The Senate Committee is going to be hearing the ceos next month. Youve also got a house hearing coming up this week. Theyre going to face questions over section 230 of the 1996 Communications Decency act. A law essentially shielding them from lawsuits over o content posted t. Its clear they are not Bulletin Boards. Do you want to own the stocks if they lose that Liability Protection. I love when these big these leaders of tech go to capitol hill and we can see how much congress doesnt understand tech. I think bottom line is, its been a witch hunt for a long time. I think you want to own tech in your portfolio. I cant emphasize enough that tech is fully valued here. At this point, the tech sector trades at 30 times forward earnings. When you start looking at the overall market, theres so many good bargains out there. You look at small caps, which have basically broken out over the last couple weeks, their earnings will increase by 180 next year. So i think you have to be really smart here as an asset allocator for my clients, we are definitely diversifying out of big tech. We dont just own big tech. I think thats the smart move here because at some point here that musics going to stop. Maria yeah. But would you buy any of these stocks . Would you want to sell those stocks if they lose that immunity . No, i dont think you sell those stocks here because i think at the end of the day, look, the Growth Potential is phenomenal here. You want to take some profits of, you want to diversify some of that money. You dont sell outright because of regulation. Back in the day ibm was under a lawsuit with the government. That didnt pan out for anything. Microsoft for a long time was. I dont think thats going to affect how these stock prices move. Maria all right. We will leave it there. Great to see everybody this morning. Thanks for the word on wall street, dennis, ryan and rebecca, great word on wall street. Much more ahead. Coming up, the road to the white house. We have hit the one week to go mark. Americans are headed to the polls in just seven short days. Later this hour ill talk with former white house chief strategist, steve ban i dont know steve bannon. How its sparking a rush of early voters, now wanting to change their votes. Then, president of the former president of shell is here to talk about the oil sector and what jobs are impacted by fracking. Plus, next hour, Herschel Walkers son, Christian Walker is here, hell weigh in on the black and hispanic vote before election day. Well get a sense of his thoughts about this election and the younger generation. Plus, florida congressman greg stubbe gives is a look an the tech hearing on. Dagen mcdowell and James Freeman, well come back and talk with them when we come right back. Youre watching mornings with maria live on fox business. I cant believe it. What . That our new house is haunted by casper the friendly ghost . Hey jill hey kurt movies . Ill get snacks no, i cant believe how easy it was to save hundreds of dollars on our Car Insurance with geico. I got snacks ohhh, i got popcorn, i got caramel corn, i got kettle corn. Am i chewing too loud . Believe it geico could save you fifteen percent or more on Car Insurance. Maria welcome back. The final stretch, President Trumps campaign is making its final push, the wall street journal is making known that his camp can pick up key groups heading into election day. One group, the journals jerry sib writes about im sorry jerry selb notes is white people without College Degrees, the report says whites without College Degrees make up 60 of those who didnt vote in michigan, 64 in pennsylvania, and 64 in wisconsin in 2016. Other groups include hispanics, black men, white evangelical women and Senior Citizens. Joins us now is steve cortes. Steve, its great to see you. Thanks for being here. Of course. Good morning. Maria look, weve seen a lot of outreach to the black community. We know that. And we have spoken with a number of leadership voices within minority groups who say that the president s comments and his work has resonated with them. What are the most important groups do you think this president is trying to reach out to, to try and get his policies to resonate . Look, maria, of course we want the votes of all americans but we do also reach out in an intentional and respectful way to coalitions and interest groups. I think hispanics i might be biased, but i think hispanics will be the most Significant Group for this election and most transformational group, meaning theyre coming our way. Early polling shows a lot of success, the most recent fox news poll on a National Basis shows 42 hispanic support for President Trump. I think we can do better than that. Any number north of 40 makes the electoral map problematic for joe biden. It likely means we solidify key swing states like arizona and florida, that we win them again. I believe a lot of other states are in play that we didnt get last time, particularly nevada dand perhaps new mexico. Hispanics are benefiting from this recovery right now, this economic renaissance that flourishes in our country. Ill give you an example. Pickup truck sales, light, heavy weight truck sales hit an alltime high in september. Pickup trucks mean work. Hispanics are heavily involved in the kinds of trades that use pickup trucks. The country is getting back to work no matter what your color or ethnicity. Hispanics are a key part of it. Our owe poe meant is opponent is fumbling on this score. We have reached out to hispanics with respect. I think its working. Maria you know, its interesting that you say this because Herschel Walker came on the program a couple of weeks ago and said, look, were talking about the black vote getting up to above 2 20 of the black Community Voting for donald trump. We also had ric grenell on the program saying the gay and lesbian vote, lgbq vote is more and more supporting President Trump. We all want the same things. So in terms of categorizing this, its really the same thing all across the board. We want safety and security for our family and we want opportunities in terms of our lives and thats what i know you have been talking about on the campaign trail. Hows the president going to communicate this . The candidates are racing across the country in the seven days before the election. The president is going to arizona and the midwest. Joe biden is visiting georgia and florida before heading to high was. Steve, let me ask you. Some of these longstanding red states, like a texas, like a florida, do you worry that they are turning purple in any way . Well, listen, i mean, do i worry . Look, were always concerned, right, because i think thats the right way to operate. Lets act like were behind in states even if we believe were up. Lets make sure we hustle and earn every last vote. This president is doing that. Everyone in the campaign is. In terms of getting the message out, i think youre right. We have become the Republican Party now, a party of workers. And a party of workers, we want jobs not mobs. Last night we saw infortunate scenes happening in philadelphia, violence against cops, violence against stores. That is not the america that we want. Its unfortunately the america that joe biden would facilitate because of his disrespect for police. Every major police union in the country has endorsed our candidacy. The president is going to keep barn storming the country for the last week, taking his message directly to the American People. The affirmative case is the economy, the economic renaissance can continue and accelerate if we rehire donald trump as our nationa nation nat. Hell also define who his opponent is, as relates to the china laptop from hell issue that joe biden has not addressed. Maria the corruption on the other side has been talked about. The biden camp has not said that these are fraudulent emails. They are emails. They are his laptop. So no comment from the campaign there. Steve, well keep watching. Thank you so much. Steve cortes with seven days to go before election day. Coming up, shielding joe biden, how the Mainstream Media is giving the democrat nominee a pass. We will discuss that, why is this oppression of information in this free country. Youre watching mornings with maria live on fox business. Businesses today are looking to tomorrow. Adapting. Innovating. Setting the course. But new ways of working demand a new type of network. One thats more than just fast. You need flexibility to work from anywhere. And manage from everywhere. Advanced technology. With serious security. And reliable coverage, nationwide. Forwardthinking enterprises, deserve forwardthinking solutions. And thats what we deliver. So bounce forward, with comcast business. Its moving day. And are doing the heavy lifting, jess is busy moving her xfinity internet and tv services. It only takes about a minute. Wait, a minute . But what have you been doing for the last two hours . Delegating . Oh, good one. Move your Xfinity Services without breaking a sweat. Now thats simple, easy, awesome. Xfinity makes moving easy. Go online to transfer your services in about a minute. Get started today. Maria biased Media Coverage on the 2020 election, bill mcagain out with a new oped in the wall street journal this morning. Its titled saving private biden. He writes about the medias coverage of hunter biden saying this, quote, mr. Biden has yet to say that the emails are phony and the laptop is not his sons, then again, hes never had to say that because the media wont press him on it. The best summary of the new standard in election coverage was given by Mark Hemingway of real clear investigations, watching the press handle joe biden is like watching someone make sure a 3yearold wins candyland. This coming after 60 minutes lesley stahl pressed President Trump on the validity of the hunter biden scandal. Take a look. I wish you would interview joe biden like you interview me. It would be so good. You know what you like this, i thought. I thought you liked i dont mind it. When i watch him walk out of a store and hes walking with an ice cream and the question the media asks him, what kind of ice cream, what flavor ice cream do you have and hes in the midst of a scandal. Hes not. And hes taking hes not, no. Of course he is, its if biggest scandal second biggest scandal. The biggest scandal was when they spied on my campaign. Theres no real evidence of that. Of course there i. Its all over the place. They spied and they got caught. Can i Say Something . This is 60 minutes and we cant put on things we cant verify. You wont put it on because its bad for biden. We cant put on things we cant verify. They spied on my campaign. Its been totally verified. No. Just go down and get the papers. They spied on my campaign. They got caught. No. And they went further than that and they got caught and you will see that, les ley and you know that. You just dont want to put that on the air. As a matter of fact, i dont know that. Maria well, she should have known it, that is uninformed and inaccurate. Dagen mcdowell, this is 60 minutes. We cant verify. It was verified in the michael horowitz, Inspector General report. It was verified in the Robert Mueller report. And it was verified again in the senate intel committee. Your reaction . Dagen i want to speak to the bill mcagain column that we were quoting from, saving private biden. Ive been talking about this for months now. Heres how the press covered joe bidens campaign la la la la la la la. They dont listen. They dont want to see him. Theyre totally in the bag for him. The only thing theyre good as is essentially acting like joe bidens foot stool because he needs to rest his dogs because hes, well, not out on the campaign trail day after a day. They are heres the thing about it. The press are clearly worried about joe biden. Because they are going to such extremes to prop him up. I think they are afraid of him losing and thats why he gets the soft treatment, why theyre so busy smooching his rump and not asking any questions about, well, anything. Lee carter has talked about undecided voters need to know answers to questions like are you going to shut down the economy, are you going to pack the court, how far left are you . Why isnt he being pushed on that. I have no answer. Maria well, you do have an answer. Its exactly what you said. I mean, james, this feels like 2016 to me and thats what Christopher Bedford wrote about in the federalist. He writes all signs point to one thing, were reliving the 2016 election. A Democrat National committee engineered nomination, a press that dismisses serious questions as conspiracies and republican as racists, a campaign that scorns personal interaction and relies on technology, a candidate who is isolated, a senatorring of a smattering of lackluster rallies. The same thing happened with weiner and the clinton emails. James this reminds me of the moment when we were interviewing President Trump for the book and he was saying he wondered why they always bring up russia as the heart of the conspiracy. Why is it always russia . Why isnt it china for example. He said he concluded they all had deals in china, talking about pillars of the swamp. Obviously, thats what weve seen in the biden case. Its really stunning. You have the documents in terms of the emails, you have an eyewitness saying that in fact joe biden did talk about the family influence business and then even if lesley stahl doesnt want to accept any of the emails are real, you have documents in the senate report, 5 million payment from a chinese firm to a biden related company, 4. 8 billion going to Hunter Bidens firm. So the documents are there. The verification is there. What we havent gotten is any kind of an explanation on what all this money was paying for, other than washington influence. Maria well, thats absolutely right. Because thats what it was paying for. Remember what peter sh whitesser told me this weekend. In the emails he has, he has 26,000 emails that Hunter Bidens partner gave him, they would talk about it as the biden lift. When they were looking to get Foreign Companies to do business with them that, would say you would get the biden lift if you would pay us and get a partnership here. By the way, in october of 2020, to say that President Trump was not spied on and it wasnt the biggest political scandal of our time is just ridiculous. In october of 2020. I would have accepted it in 17, 18, before we had all the proof of it but today, for leslilesley stahl to say he wast spied on is uninformed. Coming up, 2020 and your choice, steve bannon is here, he will react to the hunter biden bombshell, how its sparking a rush of early voters say they want to change their votes. Youre watching mornings with maria, live on fox business. I knew about the tremors. But when i started seeing things, i didnt know what was happening. So i kept it in. He started believing things that werent true. I knew something was wrong. But i didnt say a word. Im maria bartiromo. It is tuesday, october 27th. A look at markets this morning, 7 34 a. M. On the east coast. We have a rally underway, better than expected earnings boosting momentum this morning, the nasdaq is up 52, s p higher by 14 and a quarter. A solid round of Quarterly Earnings behind the market moving move this morning. We did hear from dow components 3m, caterpillar and merck, posted better than expected earnings but the stocks are not moving up. In fact, they are lower. We heard from eli lilly, pfizer and glee jetblue. This is a departure from yesterday where all major indices finished lower, the dow industrials were down 2 and a quarter percent, the nasdaq was down 1 and two thirds percent, and the s p 500 weaker by 1. 8 , and this was off of session lows, by 4 00 on wall street. The 2020 president ial election is on track to break records when it comes to early voting. But the hunter biden email report and his business dealings across the world may be causing some buyers remorse. You according to the New York Post this morning and the post broke the laptop scandal, google searches for the phrase can i change my vote have been trending in recent days and they are linked to searches for hunter biden. Joining me now is former white house chief strategist and war room host, steve ban i dont know. Thank you steve bannon. Thanks for being here. Thanks for having me, maria. Maria your reaction to what were seeing now, yo according o the New York Post, people want to change their vote because theyre understanding more about what hunter biden has been involved in all of these big money deals paying him millions of dollars, potentially paying joe biden if you believe that last email that says 10 held by h for the big guy. Look, this is not about hunter biden. The hard drive from hell is about joe biden. This shows you how joe bidens been compromised by the Chinese Communist party. Financially. I mean, theres going to be more emails coming out today, more deals of the Chinese Communist party by a host of new sites, are going to be putting them up all day, directly from the hard drive and not refuted by any of the parties. Tonight, on fox news, youre going to have Tucker Carlson, is going to be out with bobulinski, again with recordings and direct conversations he had with joe biden. Joe biden right now, maria, is in the witness protection program. The reason hes not on the campaign trail is not simply the fact he doesnt have a Closing Argument, he doesnt have the energy, theyre hiding him because they understand that any question by the press at all, he has no answer for. This is only going to get worse. And the tech oligarchs are trying to suppress the information with how they do searches. Its exploding. Its exploding if you look at targeted searches, exploding in the parts of the country the Biden Campaign does not want. People are this continuin theire information thirsty for the information. This is going to be i think in the last seven days of this campaign, as you know, trumps the best closer weve ever had. Hes making a Closing Argument. Joe bidens in hiding. If joe biden comes out, the first thing he has to address is being compromised, not just corruption. Its corruption that led to compromise by our greatest enemy and that is the Chinese Communist party. Maria you know, its unbelievable. I want to get to how this is all playing out in battleground states and the president s Closing Argument, rather, but let me end with this. Can you imagine if ivanka trump, donald trump junior or eric trump weve got a list here. Received 5 million a chinese company, received 3. 5 million from the russian oligarch, the former wife of the former mayor of moss you could you, set up amoscow, set up a 1 billion hedge fund after going on air force two and meeting folks from the bank of china and getting that 1 billion infusion into hedge fund and then of course theres burisma where he made 4. 2 million for sitting on the board. This is the business deals that we he are talking about that we have evidence of from all of these emails and theres no comment about it from any of the media, no questions of joe biden. Imagine if the shoe was on the other foot. Listen, it wouldnt be on the other foot because the trump family are patriots. They wont considering doing this. You laid out ma magnificently wh James Freeman in your book which i read in one sitting because i cant put it down. It talks about the cost of what the Chinese Communist party has done to working class people throughout the country. The biden scandal has an internal industrial logic to it. Everything is wrapped around monetizing acsense to joe biden access to joe biden. They did it when he was if the obama white house. Thats the thing about bobulinski, the emails go back to 2011. He monday advertised it while he was monetized it while he was in office. He monetized it while running for office. Biden has to understand. This is not going away after november 3rd. Theres financial crimes coming out in the emails. Theyre going to be prosecuted. Have you pages and pages of this stuff. People associated with the emails are coming forward and the lawyers are freaked out about they will come forward and sign more affidavits. So the biden camp has to understand. You can keep joe biden in the witness protection program. You can keep him down there in the cave with jill feeding him lunch every day. But youre not going to be able to get around what these emails say and tonight on Tucker Carlson in front of the whole nation, i think youll have recordings and eyewitness. Maria im going to be tuning in for that, bobulinski interview, youre right. Lets talk about President Trumps Closing Argument because the president has been talking about opening up the economy. We know that joe biden says that, look, hell lock it down again if the science goes there. Theres a new article in the journal this morning, writing about how President Trump is really can win this election by reaching o out to all these groups he has already been. Go ahead. You see it in northeast pennsylvania, you see it in heavily catholic wisconsin, working class whites plus africanamerican males, hispanic, i think steve cortes is right, well get north of 40 . Biden peaked too early. Trump is surging. This will be a horse race all the way to the end. Maria you think this is going to be a message of economic nationalism, steve. Absolutely. Joe biden was selected so he could try to sell this phony populace economic nationalism of what joe biden is. Hes from wilmington. President trump is the real deal. Thats what it will be come down from. Who is in business with the Chinese Communist party . Biden cant argue that in northeast pennsylvania, in wisconsin, he cant argue that in michigan. Thats why hes in the witness protection program. They dont want him out there. President trump trump is going to close this like he close 2016. Maria what states are you watching in in order to get a feeling on Election Night that you think the president will close this . Is it pennsylvania i . Is it North Carolina . Are these the two most important or what else . You cant get away from the fact, georgia and arizona a, you have to watch particularly establishment republicans. I think thats why glorious acb last night, her coming on the Supreme Court has sent a positive energy into this. Georgia, arizona, the ones he could take are pennsylvania and wisconsin. I would look there, particularly working class areas. Northeast pennsylvania could be the key that picks the lock on this campaign. Maria oil of and energy, real important to those states. Well talk to the former ceo of shell when we come back. Steesteve bannon, great to see. Thank you for picking up my new book. Stay with us. Well be right back. Maria welcome back. Oil prices recovering slightly today after falling yesterday, to three week lows. Crude oil at 38. 96 a barrel as covid19 cases in the United States and europe are actually surging once again, leaving traders fearful as he global virus cases surpass 33 million. That impacts oil he demand. Joining us now is the former president of shell oil, john hoffmeister. Thank you for joining us. We talked a lot on this program about fracking. Give us your sense of how many jobs in america are related to the oil industry and within that, how many jobs are related to fracking. Ive got an api report out this morning, American Petroleum institute says 7 andahalf million jobs alone in fracking. What do you say . Yes. Because what that takes into account are all the people that support the fracking activity, starting with the iron ore thats necessary for the underground piping, the steel pipe and you take it to the machinists who are shaping the metal, who are building the material product that goes into the ground. I used to be on the board of a Company Called hunting, which makes the charges and hundreds and hundreds of people in texas making these charges for the fracking process. And so it goes on and on. And then its the service companies, the drilling companies, then its the engineers that design the wells. So what biden does not understand is that the process of fracking has been around for 60 years, maria. 60 years. And he wants to come along and say no, we cant do this anymore. And he has no concept of how important molecules are to the vitality of the American Economy and to the quality of American Life and to the National Security of this nation. I mean, he just bizarrely blows it all off because he doesnt understand it, to start with, and hes just using talking points from members of his staff. Maria right. Well, so does Kamala Harris. She is even more in the weeds on fracking is bad than he is. Look, joe biden is trying to back pedal out of this. He recognizes i think the major mistake he made at the debate saying hes going to transition the industry. He spoke about fracking yesterday. He went to pennsylvania to do it. But he and his running mate, Kamala Harris, have conflicting messages. Theyve been saying no fracking for months now, up until the last few weeks. Take a look. Let me make it clear. Im not shutting down oilfields, im not eliminating fracking, im investing in clean energy. Would there be any place for fossil fuels including coal and fracking in a Biden Administration . No, we would work it out. We would make sure its eliminated. Joe biden will not end fracking. He has been very clear about that. Theres no question im in favor of banning fracking. Maria the back and forth, the back and forth, let me bring go ayo ahead, whats your reacto that. Go ahead. I heard both of them say they are against fracking, multiple times. Its not new. Its their professed belief that they can somehow arbitrarily, by government dictate, create a new energy system. No. Markets create new energy systems. Not government dictates. Maria James Freeman, theyre talking about their green new deal. What is the cost of that green new deal, james . James the estimates have run close to 100 trillion on the green new deal. The biden energy plan, hes calling about 2 trillion. But i want to ask you, john, even before if bidens elected he tries to turn on the machinery to transition away from oil, turn on the regulatory machinery. We have Congressional Democrats pressuring banks not to fund energy projects. Weve had five of the six largest banks in the United States say they will not finance new drilling projects in the arctic. Are you seeing more generally banks that are now reluctant, ununder pressure from activists in democrats in congress saying no to Financing Energy . Is an effort underway for environmental reasons, called esg, which is attempting to slow down the lending. But thats a few institutions. There are a lot of sources of money out there. The industrys not going to go away any time soon, despite what a politician might have to say. Maria so real quick, john, final word here. What will the Energy Industry look like under a Biden Administration . Real quick, we have a couple seconds here. Well, it will be depressed. It will be depressed. Because its been repressed. And the American People will pay, maria. Thats the point. The American People will pay. They will be poorer. They will have a harder time getting their energy. All because of a politicians narrowmindedness and shallowness when it comes to the subject of energy. Maria all right. John, its good to see you this morning. Well keep checking back with you to see how things are going. John hoffmiceer joining us, former president of shell oil. Well be right back. Weve got the morning buzz on the other side of this. Dagen, have you seen any of these. Dagen there is one character people will remember 20 years from now related to zoom and its called the toobin, the jeffrey toobin, ill leave it at that. Maria okay. Theres this, james, the scent of Fried Chicken. Are you ready for it. Walmart is selling kfc scented fire logs, just in time for the holidays, james. Light up the limited edition log and your home will smell like Fried Chicken all day. You in . You know, this is one of those tough policy questions. Im skeptical. I understand its a popular item. But if you get the log without the chicken, i think thats ultimately going to be unsatisfying. I would get the log, get a bucket of chicken and also get the cost to read while you eat the chicken. Dagen james, i also you know what what would happen if i burned the chicken log but ate tofu. Would that make the tofu more palletable . Palateable. James you lost me at tofu. How did that get in the household. Maria its an alternative for vegans. Put the log on there and eat tofu. Today is the at a, my new book coauthorized by jails freeman the cost trump, china and the american revival is out. The book on book shelves right now all this week we will be highlighting important chapters from the book today we are focusing on chapter 2, the coup that failed, james and i examined efforts from the inside government to take down President Trump, with the narrative that his campaign colluded with russia we spoke with President Trump in exclusive interview and while writing the cost he told us took us behind curtain in terms of what he felt about the russia investigation throughout his term here it is. I never took russia seriously or two to reasons number one i knew Nothing Happened they told me but know there is some information they are asking information about russia, guys coming up to me, sir do you though he anything about russia i said what i am hearing 10 times from people would i always say, russia . What the hell do i have to do with russia . So i never took it seriously, you know, almost to the end i never took it seriously if you want to know the truth, because, was, i just thought it was false information that nothing was going to happen with russia and nobody ever worse to rush than me that interview in august this year james i never took this seriously, either but the amount of Media Coverage, on a story with no evidence, was just incredible, james. Yeah i think over last year weve seen confirmed what obviously, you were reporting very early, and what the president saw which was just this total lack of evidence, i think what is really striking when you go through the record, is how the collusion story essentially fallen apart by the time donald trump takes office, i know for a lot of news consumers looking at coverage of early years of administration not so much this network but othneither wors calls ecologically in apparently damaging we have learned so much record has come out the case had really fall apart before donald trump was inaugurated fbi getting report from Intelligence Community assessing the dossier, disinformation sending to harm United States in early months of the Trump Presidency you had the primary source for this subsource for this dossier saying that it was made up some of it was jokes, so, this anonymous story from anonymous subsource had fallen apart by the time so much media was presenting it as some rising threat to the president. Maria yeah, because in 2020, we had declassifications and declassified handwritten notes john brennan others peter strzok basically told us that this was a plot made up by Hillary Clinton to tie dob don for political opponents to russia, russia scandal the question is when did u. S. Intelligence apparatus begin working with the Hillary Clinton campaign . Because we know, that january 24, 25, 26 this was threeday interview with the subsource of the dossier in that threeday interview igor, the subso as you told fwib investigators no, we are just having brs we made it up no, we with couple embellishing, fbi knew that was garbage before President Trump settled in office John Ratcliffe joined us a few weeks ago, and went through it all here is John Ratcliffe sitting director of national intelligence. It took you, coming out just a few weeks ago, abled declassifying handwritten notes that john brennan wrote when indicated Hillary Clinton had the idea, to tie President Trump to russia. And fbi knew it it was russian intelligence believed by o former cia director john brennan to president he obama, Vice President biden then properly revered by cia to the fbi for investigation. And all related to a Hillary Clinton plan to create trumprussia collusion narrative that wasnt true it wasnt just fbi that knew that it was the Intelligence Community, and our Law Enforcement community that knew that i think everyone knows at this point Hillary Clinton did create the trumprussia inclusion, hired Christopher Steele for that purpose, it was used, in m connection with the steele dossier was used for fisa applications and all of that i think what is different when i declassified that information was first time members of congress and American People, know, now that our Intelligence Community and Law Enforcement community were aware that have information before crossfire hurricane counterintelligence investigation was opened those are issues john durham is looking at issues resulted in what we know aspects of counterintelligence investigation were illegal they were criminal. We know that. Maria yes, the criminality started in some ways, with the unlawful targeting surveillance of carter page i want to say sources are telling me we will see indictments after election i just want to get that out i just had phone calls on this yesterday i want you to look at carter page timeline carter page was invited to a ton of various conferences, i believe it was entrapment fbi says they started investigating trump in july of 2016. But look at all these meetings that carter page is invited to Stefan Halper a washed up spy is paid 245,000 in september 2015, couple months after donald trump announced president innovateing page to go conferences dropping information on them john durham conducting criminal investigation james i have already reported not getting indictments before election but i am being told now we will see indictments after election on people will who perpetrated this fraud on donald trump, why is it important james . Because these are our liberties and rights, just is incredible to me, that the media throws out all our values that we deem so important, oh, innocent until Proven Guilty . Forget it. It is trump, not wiretapped unlawfully, forget it, it is trump lets do it amazing when you think to debates, after 9 11 about how powerful we wanted the intelligence tools surveillance tools, of the federal government to be a with a lot of people concerned about possibility about abuse for political purposes here we see 2016 intelligence tools, thought go after terrorists enemies of the United States turned against associates of rival Political Campaign no question carter page was victimized we already have the guilty plea from ken clinesmith, the fbi attorney, pleaded guilt to falsifying email, this was email from cia saying page had been helpful in terms of russian information. Changed it to say opposite so that they could continue to present to court page had connections not a source for counterintelligence i hope more to learn about this, absolutely, the surveillance powers of the federal government were abused turned against the political rival. Maria so the question becomes, who is going to be a held accountable as i mentioned, my sources say we will see charges, indictments coming out after the election. And i will point out that the only time we actually got a comment from anybody close to at the Obama Administration to answer any of this is when i interviewed Valerie Jarrett, because people want to know who knew what and when, why 126 leaks in first 125 days, about the Trump Administration, coming from the former administration . I put the question to Valerie Jarrett recently you are talking about the biggest, valerie we are talking about the biggest political scandal of our generation. One administration, one Political Party, spied on another Political PartyHillary Clinton paid for widow we now know that the subsource of the dossier we now know the source of the dossier told the fbi, that it was garbage hearsay early january were in the Oval Office Meeting january 5 when joe biden said he wants to use logan act against general Michael Flynn . Were there. Of course, i was a not there you were president obamas right hand people wonder how many president he obama directed this so i ask you bid president obama direct any of this . That is not how it works that is not hour investigations work that we leave that to Intelligence Community, to bring forward, information, and and the dossier i imagine would be one pies of a much bigger puzzle all in book out right now, the cost trump, china and the american revival. We will preview more chapters later this week stay with us. Well be right back. Insulin injections can make diabetes complicated. Meet omnipod it delivers insulin through a tubeless pod. Maria welcome back, we are seven days away from election day 2020 both candidates making this pitch to the black hispanic voting bloc,a new article,in the the wall street journal, calls a trump election comeback, with these pieces it is still possible, says quote the Trump Campaign, thinks and over performance by the president among black men could approve ask decisive for him ohio georgia pennsylvania young black men in particularly have not shown high enthusiasm for mr. Biden joining me right now Christian Walker the son of former nfl player fellow trump supporter, Herschel Walker christian adequate to have you on the program this morning thanks so much for joining us. I am so excited to be a on. I have been reading a lot of your twitter, and posts on instagram, and youve been vocal in terms of your support for President Trump, and youve also done a pretty good fair amount of reporting around young people, what would you say about the support in communities that you are looking at, whether young people, young black men, Lgbtq Community how do they see President Trump a lot with groupthink they like people in groups based on identity forcing them convincing them they have to vote a certain way i thank you a long time black americans lgtpq immigrants, needing to vote for democrats, President Trumps policies, platinum plan i think a lot of black americans, americans weaking up to fact can vote for someone based on policy or dont have to vote as they traditionally have you have been a pop culture pundit or commentator i want your take on what is resonating with various communities, you are right we all want the same thing. So, we should not be categorizing but were looking at different opinions, in different groups, what do you think resonates that this president has been able to expand the tent, if you will. I think it is primarily opportunity President Trumps created so much opportunity within america through the economy he fostered brought in i think a lot of young people, especially young people in College Graduated looking for a job, really appreciate, President Trumps economy, he created for them want to see that pushed forward and continued on in a second term. I found your comments, really with such wisdom on youtube you posted a video to twitter where you take on election lets watch it take a listen i want to get your reaction you want to send white spremsy an issue think a about joe biden 1949 crime bill how that affected black america how donald j. Trump is giving 500 billion dollars, to black americas for next four years White Supremacy made up. Maria and yet christian, they keep asking him about it, in in accusatory way, this has bothered you. It extremely, it bothers me extremely it wasnt White Supremacists burning America BlackAmericans Care about law and order in neighborhood care about low Unemployment Rate donald trump created white specimenacy used by left to scare people. And in terms of black lives matter, i mean an area very submissive people get upset when you sort of poke holes in the in the message, what do you say about black lives matter . I think the left is brilliant with language, black lives matter, of course, a great name, but what they actual do dont accomplish anything for black america they are extremely violent they destroy minority communities, what have they done . They havent helped low income minority communities, actual destroyed many minority owned businesses minority owned stores even on my street in los angeles it is very frustrating that Many Democrats people on the left, fall down in worship black lives matter simply because it has a good name there are actions are abhorrent they are not doing anything for black americans they are actually helping to destroy the country tell me about the vote, do you think we are going to see a lot of people come out i mean we have already seen 50 Million People vote early. What are you expecting on election day christian . I think we are going to be a extremely surprised by the amount of minorities voting for trump we hear often from you know, leftist media that all minorities voting for joe biden this hate trump think he is racist but i dont think see that i dont hear that when talking to people i this he think we are going to see large amount of black americans come out for trump i think a large amount of americans come up for trump maybe still scared to vocalize that, outside of the voting booth. Was another around the corner . Or could it be a different story . I wanted to help protect myself. My doctor recommended eliquis. Eliquis is proven to treat and help prevent another dvt or pe blood clot. Almost 98 percent of patients on eliquis didnt experience another. And eliquis has significantly less major bleeding than the standard treatment. Eliquis is fdaapproved and has both. Dont stop taking eliquis unless your doctor tells you to. Eliquis can cause serious and in rare cases fatal bleeding. Dont take eliquis if you have an artificial heart valve or abnormal bleeding. If you had a spinal injection while on eliquis call your doctor right away if you have tingling, numbness, or muscle weakness. While taking eliquis, you may bruise more easily. And it may take longer than usual for bleeding to stop. Seek immediate medical care for sudden signs of bleeding, like unusual bruising. Maria welcome back, eyeing reelection as President Trump campaign makes final push this weekend the wall street journal makes no note that his camp can pick up key ground into election day, the journal points to white people without College Degrees, hispanicss black men white evangelical women Senior Citizens top potential pickups for Trump Campaign joining me author of a president like no other, former newspaper publisher financier conrad black thanks very much for being here tell us why you wrote this book. Thanks for having me on maria good to be a with you again, i felt that he hasnt real been properly explained case he is trapped between, his very strenuous vocal admirers, tend to think he can do no wrong, and then the other side, the most extraordinarys smear companion i have ever seen in a serious democracy otherwise highly sensible people when his name mentioned have a cou. Ocoobird fly out of their headed, nonsense. The media United States your own network, the wall street journal, New York Post exceptions, have smeared blood lesley attempted to assassinate this president since before he was inaugurated must not in my opinion have efforts crowned with success we all in principle are oppose to do assassinations that is what you have been seeing i thought to put a history i i have known him a long time business associate, and, fairly including humor rows parts including not so fellow felicitous parts, highlighting achievements i think he had best first term of any president in historyspent, roosevelt, nixon achieved more than any other president prior to inauguration except those helped found country washington Jefferson MadisonWorld Historic figures before they became president. Media failed to acknowledge any of his successes we have talked about it all morning in your book you discuss in present like no other donald trump restoring of america you highlight the president s legacy writing quote whatever happens donald trump will be one of the most vividly remembered president character of American History also among most consequential conrad because of all judges that he named to the bench, three Supreme Court judges as well, but as a former media mogul, you obviously, own he the dailily telegraph the spectator as a mogul in the media, what is your reaction to what you are seeing, in todays media . I mean they will not discuss hunter biden, and joe biden even though they were getting payouts, from these companies, tied to foreign governments while joe biden was sitting Vice President negotiating policy on the part of the United States. I mean weve got emails indicating hunter biden getting all this monday in one case saying 10 of this joint venture held by h, for hunter, for the big guy i dont know if the way they went about all of their deals, hunter held money for joe biden we dont know because job wont talk about it media wont ask him what is your reaction to todays media i am ashamed of it i think it is a disgrace further more i think it is dangerous to democracy in general not only in the United States. It is absolutely essential for functioning to democracy to have a free press cant be interfered with reasonable liable laws you dont have in u. S. Since New York Times sullivan that is a sideshow, and, in order to maintain a democracy not only need a question free press to which in which public attaches certain amount of credence respect. That is not case in u. S. Look at polling now, the regards to the media to teens 50, 70 Something Like that one american in six, thinks it is, you know, reliable, and when i relatively old not older than most viewers, a fair number of them, and when i was a young person, there was absolutely great credibility with number of the commentators Walter Whitman wolter cronkite murrow, so forth continued a long time deservedly should what we have now as far as i can see more an act of suicide than assassination press is chief victim of its own professional profoundly dishonest behavior it is a disgrace if awarded withed defeat of trump they have been conduct can go a Campaign Joe Biden hasnt run a campaign he and Kamala Harris were picked out of a ditch, by party he woulders to keep away then gave them a platform they were a match losers in selection process. Harris didnt even get to the primaries, joe came what fourth in iowa fifth New Hampshire but put them there campaign run for them by media, that is not their job the job of media is to report and to remember some distinction reporting, apart from your network your affiliated papers there is very little of that and add to that that now turned on each other sandbagged the papers, aattempting to prevent New York Post circulating facts you referred to i dont see evidence he they are receiving 9. 4 million from Russia Ukraine china caused at raugs of government policy but i this he would want to know we want to know that also, by the way, we want to know what went on with setting up of the most outrageous breach of a constitution in the history of the country, that whole trumprussian collusion nonsense closest your country has ever come to tanks on white house lawn if biden wins Durham Report will just be pushed under the rug i agree with you conrad i have been calling it biggest political scandal we have ever seen for years now incredible. You have been very good i have been watching you. Have incredible i have been watching you october 2020 lesley stahl can say no, we cant verify that really . Just extraordinary thank you so much you also did a good job she did a good job reporting on mr. Nixon nearly 50 years ago i dont know what has happened to her the interview other day a disgrace, the person released can i add greatest scandal in recent times American History was complicity both parties leaving southern border open tense of millions of people many good people but a real charge on country could come in without being documented, and, true promise to he has addressed it does he get credit for it . No . I think will from voters but you wouldnt know to it read media good to have you this morning conrad black joining us thanks, maria. Well be right back. Ok, just keep coloring there. Big tech in focus ceo facebook as well as twitter, zuckerberg and dorsey as well as ceo Google Pichai will par before federal Law Enforcement tomorrow morning for hearing section 230 of the act allows companies those companies to moderate potentially harmful content without repercussions they call themed Bulletin Board all opinions on Bulletin Board so they cant get sued thinking in terms of section 230 protected them from lawsuits joining me right now florida congressman member of the judiciary, antitrust subcommittee gregg steube great to see you. Thanks very much for joining us tell me what you are expecting to hear from tech media giants, and does 230 enable bad behavior from big tech unfortunately,s i dont think you are going to hear anything of substance they are going to try to avoid pin pointing questions i am sure their counsel counsel said act like you dont know that was never written to you are level as ceo i dont think you get a lot of information from them but absolutely you are synopsis section 230 the way supposed to work was absolutely correct unfortunatelies that is not what they are he doing we know they are completely censoring conservatives prohibiting information, are needs to go away working on a bill in the house would allow create a private because of action for anybody being censored that means Big Tech Companies preventing information from being disseminated on platforms congressman jordan joined me sunday refers to that here is jim jordan take a listen. Twitter Ceo Jack DorseyFacebook Ceo Mark Zuckerberg testifying before federal Judiciary Committee next month you have been calling for them in house for months now what are you going to do about coverup going on by the jeed first question would i ask jack dorsey why are still conditions aroring New York Post all facts you talked about are real just fact, why still censoring New York Post a publication around since Alexander Hamilton for goodness sakes so why are you doing that remedy legislation, others an Judiciary Committee does complete overhaul section ex230 brings back liability for these folks will have incentives in place so that they cant keep censoring conservatives like theyve been doing. Maria congressman steube if you even get to that, i mean face it during the 2016 election, google had changed its algorithms where you type in Hillary Clinton was all puppies rainbows Great Stories you typed in donald trump you got, you know laugh hitler, and horrible stories about him are they going to work out algorithms once again in the at a democrats favor in they have obviously, taken a side. , until held accountable doing that getting rid of Liability Protection they are going to continue to behave in this manner just conceal in a way public cant see it we know it is happening going on, needs to stop we need to do way with their Liability Protection what do you want to see Going Forward in terms of this issue . You want this to go away entirely section 230 . Or looking for tweaks at it . Would allow for private because of auction if individual feels their information was censored, for example, New York Post story where they completely twitter shut them down New York Post would have a private cause of action against twitter for doing that it would give individuals, and companies, individual private cause of action against company if they are being censored i think would you see behavior quickly change pg if suddenly opened up to lawsuits like that. By the way, you might see whole companies change because somebody mention to me craigslist when craigslist started getting sued for products putting out there, if company, declined it is a shelf itself, so this is a story to watch we certainly will be watching your actions congressional great to see you this mornings thanks very much.
