Major tech companies, apple, microsoft all topping 3 and that had the nasdaq 300 points, dow industrials 439. Joining me right now chief Investment Officer jim and Dagen Mcdowell and Strategic Wealth president mark tepper. Jim, let me kick it off with you, what do you think is driving investors . I think right now whats driving investors is momentum, whether its positive or negative. The tech trend likely holds so long as the covid19 issues that basically correlate in technology center, we think they do. We think volatility would be constant and increase as we make our way to vitriol of november election and we think the some cautious optimism is that the Economic Data that we are seeing, current data that we are just seeing not just domestically and globally, they were in slow recovery and not no recovery mode. We think this is perfect time to be both disciplined in terms of your diversification across sectors but also make sure that your Asset Allocation is well diversified and we will see what we saw lest last week. Maria do you see growth continueing through 2021 . We will see a spectacular rebound for quarter. I wouldnt suggest that we are off to the races. I think the economy is clearly supported by fed, fiscal and what we call furlough stimulus, all of those are beginning to look like shaky leg, that said, as we enter 2021, hopefully knowing who our new leader is, we suspect we will see a massive infrastructure spend no matter who wins the election, also technology, super highway, we think theres reason to be optimistic if the economic numbers begin to show slowness or weakness as we enter into 2021. Maria all right, lets turn to tiktok and china. Tiktoks parent bite dance in talks, this follows Chinese Government steps to put new restrictions on exporting ai complicating the talks, Companies Like microsoft, oracle, walmart, all considered potential buyers, jim, your reaction of whats going on which seems like an economic soft war between United States and china. It feels like its not going to get any softer any time soon. We think that something has happened in the last 10, 15 years and that is that the Global Economy between u. S. China both economically and politically to ultimately play nice when it comes to trade but getting there will not be pretty. This is yet another example in which countries can manipulate individual companies to their negotiating, assumed associating benefit. We think dont think this kind of plot will dissipate soon, we will see more of it. Net, net, we see both countries are looking for a win both for selfinterest reasons and for their ability to grow their economies. They can do that with each other growing in the same direction. Maria all right, you mentioned the broader outlook. We are getting jobless claims out, 8 30 a. M. Eastern. Estimates call for 846,000 unemployment claims last week. Certainly good news to have it under a million. Open job post negotiation the u. S. Leveling off and sign of easing momentum in labor market, what are your expectations for jobless numbers and how does this play in terms of Investment Outlook . We will think we will continue to see and consumer is the driver of our economy and employee consumer is absolutely key. We think that there are downward pressures both on hiring and rehiring that have yet to sort themselves out so thats an absolute cautionary flag for us. All that said and done we continue to have not watch consumer setting but what they are actually doing and we continue to spend at reasonable levels and spectacular levels on the biggest investments they have ever made, mainly homes and cars. Maria and thats, of course, enabled by rockbottom Interest Rates. We havent spoken about that on day we are waiting on the ecb. Theres not a lot of alternatives when you rates at zero. Thats absolutely right. This is a recovery built on fed and fiscal stimulus, you take those crutches away and we would be in absolutely dire straits. We are going to support from our fed and from our government and ultimately from panes to rehire, all that said and done its not an economy standing on two legs, not by a long shot. Maria we will leave it there. Jim, thank you so much, sir. Jim joining us there. Check out Fitness Company stock flexing muscle this morning. Record high, out at the close tonight. He knew how dangerous it was. All of the deadly disease ripped through our nation, he failed to do his job on purpose. It was life a bathe betrayal of life and death betrayal of the American People. Maria he told woodward he wanted to play down covid19 back in march, joining me right now michigan congresswoman Debbi Dingell, congresswoman, thanks so much for being here. You met with the former Vice President after his speech last night, tell us about it. It was good to see him but he was very focused on two things, one, covid disrupted all of our lives and no one feeling it more than he because hes being and i think he was feeling very intense and good and passionate and everything joe biden is about a day in michigan with all the conflicting feelings. Maria now, i want to get your take on how michigan feels about joe biden but with all due respect, lets get reality into this, when the president decided to stop flights from china on january 31st, joe biden called him a xenophobe and around the same time nancy pelosi went to chinatown and said we are having a great job in chinatown because everybody is on top of each other, come down and join us, but to say that, you know, joe biden and nancy pelosi and the rest thought that the coronavirus was so serious is a little much. Congresswoman maria, i will take that on. Im the person who wrote the letter. You remember in midjanuary because the auto industry, i represent them, its located in wuhan. If you remember the administration was checking people at some airports. We had direct International Flights and i asked questions then, why do we have flights, people coming from wuhan and arent we checking and what they both were doing and what nancy pelosi was most physically doing was ensuring that we not have a backlash against anybody who was chinese the way i worry about when something happens and the community i live with is attacked and something very different. We need to focus on what the problem is and not then have reverse retaliation against anybody who is asian decent which has happened in the country and keep that from happening. Maria joe biden introducing his plan he says will save american jobs, he used the opportunity to bash the president s policies as well but its the same policy, lets take a listen. One, trump has hasnt stopped companies from closing plants and sending overseas and two, rewarded companies to cut jobs and failed to invest at home with billions of dollars of tax breaks and 3 hes awarding more and more federal contracts to foreign companies. President trump has broken just about every promise hes made to the American Worker. Maria so congresswoman, do you think this is going to fly given the fact that Everybody Knows joe biden has been in government 47 years and he approved and pushed things like nafta which sent all of those jobs to mexico . Congresswoman i think that the workers know that joe biden cares about them and that nafta was evolved a long time and i wont be afraid to say, well, you know how we feel about trade deals. We have discussions about those. The billionaires tax cuts, incentivized people to go overseas. I think the pandemic has people understand what a supply chain. You and i understand it and a lot of other people dont. They suddenly realized how dependent we are on other countries for basic needs like ppe, gloves, masks and medicine. Maria but debbie, you approved this stuff, youre a congress woman. You cant you cant have an arms length distance and say, oh, yeah, this is what happened. You were there and so was joe biden. Trump is an outsider and he didnt agree to any of this stuff. Congresswoman didnt agree, he helped craft bill and just for my own district he said he would keep jobs here, i have a steel plant that layed off 1500 jobs just at the beginning of the year and another plant in hometown that eliminated 350 jobs about 2 months ago. We are still seeing that shift to jobs overseas for a variety of reasons. Maria i understand, congresswoman, did you vote for nafta . Congresswoman no, i didnt. I thought it was a terrible bill but i maria but thats what im saying, joe biden. But, look, its a Political Year, i understand we are going to see what sticks and throws to see what sticks and throws things to the wall, i love all of the time. I have to call it out its a lot. Take a look at what he said back in february. You know, its a tricky situation. Its indeed, it is. It goes through air, bob, its tougher than the touch. The touch you dont have to touch things, but the air you breathe the air. Thats how its past and its passed, its tricky, its more deadly than strenuous flus. Maria the president saying in march. I always we wanted to play it down. I still like playing it down because i dont want to create a panic. Maria President Trump defending his words at the white house yesterday, watch this. Im a cheerleader for this country and i love our country and i dont want people to be frightened. I dont want to create panic as you say and certainly im not going to drive this country or the world into a frenzy. Our numbers compared to other countries of the parts of the world, its been an amazing job that weve done. Maria Dagen Mcdowell, let me get your take on this. I interviewed President Trump in january of this year in davos and it is true that he wasnt necessarily appearing to be believing that it was this dangerous, significant event, coronavirus. I think at the time we didnt know all enough about it but lets not forget a week later he did stop all travel from china. Dagen which was roundly criticized by many people on the left. As you pointed out, joe biden called it, he talked about trump hysterical xenophobia and fearmongering and had the gull after talking about the travel ban and later disease has no borders. I just want to say this, the reaction that youve seen from liberals and the leftwing media is hysterical dishonesty in regard to these interviews that President Trump did or dishonest hysteria only triggered obviously by anything that President Trump says. I just karl rove wrote a column a while back called the left covid memory hole and i want to go down memory lane briefly about some of the things that people said, people who are losers to joe biden. Ronron klein, opposed the travel ban on january 28th, called it premature. Zeke emmanuel said january 30th, confidant, take a big breathe, slow down and stop panicking and being hysterical. I could go down the list, february ron klein played the likelihood that covid would become a serious pandemic. Emmanuel called said there had been an overreaction february 20th, i emmanuel said warm weather would come and just like with the flu the coronavirus would go down. Nancy pelosi telling you need to come out and nancy pelosi urged tourists in San Francisco to come to chinatown. She wasnt talking about a backlash toward Chinese Americans or chinese individuals and residents here in the United States. Again and again whether its andrew cuomo, you go down the list of of what people were telling america. Andrew cuomo was busy helping kill thousands of elderly people in march, but, again, thats trumps fault or fox news fault or mother natures fault or the New York Post fault. You want to talk about taking responsibility, lets start with individuals who had a hand in killing people and thats right on andy cuomo. Maria yeah. Yeah, thats what i said pretty much not about cuomo but pelosi and biden to congressman Debbi Dingell and the other thing is i feel like its just this week or last week where we get new jobs plan from joe biden that is firing up the Manufacturing Base in the United States. Thats been what President Trump ran on on 2016 and what is pushing as well. No differentiation whatsoever from the rest of the media in terms of what really took place here and what is behind these interviews because youre right there was so much pushback from everybody on the left about this. It is a Political Year and certainly feels like it. Coming up dagen just really quickly. The goal was to not panic people and that happened anyway. Maria yeah. Dagen again, thats what a leader does and he shut down travel coming in from china and that was something that people on the left opposed and called him names and they were busy impeaching him. Never forget that. Maria yeah, yeah. For no crimes, by the way. The articles of impeachment were not even crimes, its just been extraordinary the resistance that this president has faced from the getgo and, of course, we are once again in a Political Year and the race for the white house is on, what america could look like under joe biden versus President Trump, we will compare the policies, thats where we look, policies, not personality. Back in a minute. Sions. Stocks by the slice from fidelity. Get your slice today. Stocks by the slice from fidelity. Im making pizza on kings hawaiian mini subs. Yum kings hawaiian. Futures are searching for firm direction. We are solidly negative. Dow industrials down 119 points. Nasdaq is now negative down 35 and s p lower by 14. Wall street seeing a banner day yesterday. Nasdaq surging almost 3 after entering correction territory. European markets this morning look like this. We are waiting European Central Bank Decision, it is expected that the ecb will leave rates unchanged. The dax end exhigher this morning by 23, ftse 100 down 45. Asian markets mixed. Here is cheryl casone. Cheryl good morning, two mall Owners Simon Property Group agreed to buy jcpenney out of bankruptcy for 800 million. Jcpenney filed for bankruptcy in may after temporarily closing doors after covid19 lockdowns and hasnt turned a profit since 2010. Average pay 150,000 a year. Amazon says these jobs are not related to the massive hiring it usually does right before the holidays. Taking a look at amazon in premarket. Stock down more than a quarter percent. Ups expanding its workforce, looking to bring on 100,000 Seasonal Workers to help handle an expected avalanche of holiday deliveries. Package handlers, drivers, lets take a look at ups in premarket, maria. Stock is up a little more than half a percent. Those are headlines from the newsroom, back over to you. Maria all right, cheryl, thank you, joe biden taking a page out of President Trumps playbook focusing on manufacturing jobs in michigan. Yesterday biden slammed the president saying that he has not kept his promises to the American Worker, take a listen. So to reach, 1, trump hasnt stopped companies from closing plants and sending jobs overseas. 2, hes rewarded companies that have cut jobs and failed to invest here at home with billions of dollars in tax breaks and 3, hes awarding more and more federal contracts to foreign companies. President trump has broken just about every promise hes made to the American Worker and hes failed, hes failed our economy and our country. Maria joining me right now is black voices for trump, 2020 adviser board member veterans for trump 2020 and women for trump and cochairman of project 21 stacy washington. Great to see you, stacy, also joining me democratic strategist Jason Anthony nichols, great to have you, thank you so much to you both for joining us. Jason, let me kick it off with you. You heard joe biden there, how is joe biden going to explain on the campaign trail that hes been in government almost 50 years, 47 years and throughout that he has been encouraging businesses to send workers overseas to make it more Cost Effective . Jason well, i think one of the things he will do he will explain his record and explain it correctly and that is the Obamabiden Administration actually gained 166,000 manufacturing jobs each year whereas joe biden excuse me, donald trump has lost 1800 factories. Theyve shut down under his leadership. Thats prepandemic. When we talk about post pandemic, we are talking about 740,000 manufacturing jobs lost under his leadership, so he has the he has to do the explaining. Its donald trump who has failed the American Worker and carrots and sticks, essentially. If you want to manufacture and you want to create american jobs and you have a plan maria jason, its just not true. Its just not true. Joe biden has been in government for 47 years and he voted for nafta, he sent jobs over to mexico. President trump has made jobs his number 1 issue. Thats why he won 2016 and when he constantly said america first, america first, we want to get jobs, hire america, buy america, he was criticized roundly by the left, so what youre saying just doesnt add up. Stays write, stacy, your reaction. Bidens plans for america will lead to higher taxes across all income groups. We are talking about the tax hikes and comparing that to the jobs plan and policy that he has and not only does it not add up but its already been proven that he doesnt know what to do with the economy. The biden economy which was the obamabiden economy was the slowest economic recovery hes ever had in the country, so we have a proven record with President Trump and we can contract that with a proven nonrecord, 47 years of malfeasance and wrong action, poor decisions and things that have hurt americans from biden. Hes running for the presidency for the third time, maria, i dont know how anyone, especially someone who is black the way he denigrates us and we dont have diversity of thought, let alone a black person think of voting for joe biden. Maria look, i know that this is a Political Year and people will be throwing things on both sides that may or may not be true. We are just trying to keep it real here. Thankthank you so much to both r stating both sides. Coming up u. S. China tensions, atlas founder anthony ward is here, push to prevent National Security risks and economic war between u. S. Maria welcome back, rising tensions with china. U. S. Canceled a thousand visas calling security risks. More than 300,000 chinese nationals study in the United States. Joining me right now is the founder and author of the atlas organization. Hes the author of chinas vision of victory. Jonathan ward. Jonathan, good to have you this morning. Thank you very much for joining us. Good morning, maria. Good to be here. Maria you have been so spot on on this topic and you wrote an oped that says America Needs a grand strategy to beat china, lets begin with economic containment, lets talk about that first, what kind of economic containment are you referring to . Absolutely, maria. I mean, ultimately its an economic contest. The only way that the communist party of china can achieve goals to become dominant power in the world is if it surpasses the United States economically. Theyve planned to do this for decades and seen on the horizon and many people say surpassed the u. S. Economy by 2030 and covid has given them advantages of that. Bottom line we will have to shut down economic growth. You cant have an adversary nation like this continue to go grow, continue to go benefit from integration with our economy, continuing to benefit from Technology Transfer and engagement with us in Strategic Industries so ultimately we will have to close chinas access to Capital Markets and western technology and to any sort of advantage it gains through engagement with us on Strategic Industries. This would be key thrust of u. S. Policy so that we can regain initiative in the broader competition, remain the worlds leading economy and ultimately win the contest with china. Maria you know, most people would say its not another countrys business to get into a foreign countrys issues and the United States should not be dealing with what china is doing with its own people, but what you are saying is so critical for people to understand that china is a different situation. China wants to be the number 1 super power in the world and its a communist country. They abuse their people. They are tracking their people, they are locking up those people who do not do it their way like use the Chinese Government as their quote, unquote, religion. Youre not allowed to honor god, et cetera. So most people i would think after understanding the issues would say they want america to stop china from becoming the world dominant super power. Jonathan well, we cant let it happen. Every couple of generations you have this challenge, nazi germany or the soviet union tries to seek global power. Truly, society is where government is repressing and we understand the concentrations camps. Thats the other side of it. They are converting their Industrial Power and economic power into military power, thats what we are fundamentally doing with this. Decades engagement with china and created a military super power thats preparing for conflict with its own neighbors and with the United States itself in addition to human rights atrocities that they commit by nature of system. All of the measures that we have to take to start slowing rise of china. This is critical. We will need a Growth Strategy for ourselves. We will need to build towards the next horizon, our gdp and economy and we will need to look at how do we get to 30 trillion. Stay ahead of china. We have to wage the contest throughout 2020 and make sure we are in the lead and they are not. They plan to surpass us in the decade. Maria these are exactly the issues that Corporate America looks at, jonathan, you know that. Corporate america says, look, i want to grow and that creates growth for america but the growth is in china. Look at disney and its mulan film. Ban of import of cotton and they are also going to be banning other import from chinas region over the forced labor and the Human Rights Violations going on where 1 million uighur minorities are locked and look beyond selling to 1. 4 billion people and recognizing the security risks in dealing with china. Jonathan mulan is a great example. At the end of the movie they are thanking the entities that are in charge of concentration camps after filming there. You have to remember that americas companies, you know, they won world war ii. They won the cold war. They had been such an important part of u. S. Triumph and success and victory throughout the past century and suddenly we are in this moment where because of the appeal of the china market, you have markets corporations running in the opposite as u. S. National interest, u. S. National security and we have to get back on the same thing. I think there has to be a reckoning in every board room as to what 2020 really mean and what u. S. China contest means and why its vital on the side of the United States. Maria real quick before we go, i want to point out that the ccp is still pulling audiotape stops to get investments from American Companies into china whether itd be ipos, data going public and then theres the enormous ipo group that will be going public in hong kong. I know that there are efforts here to slow down investment going into china, the Trump Administration has stopped the thrift fund as well as Railroad Retirement funds, make the case why you believe this should be a warning to those people wanting to invest in Chinese Companies, where is the money going . You cant become a giant company in china without close ties to the communist party. We are basically funding the rise of existential adversary and we have to stop. Cheryl we will leave it there. Jonathan, great to have you this morning. Jonathan ward, preorder my new book, the cost, trumpchina and american revival. Hope you will check it out. It will be out this october. Hes serving a 22year sentence for his part in murder for hire plot against rival carol basking. You watch the series, what do you think . Dagen he was reportedly assaulted in prison recently so hes struggling with his incarceration, obviously, but our sense of time has been so during the covid shut downturned upside down that this was a, you know, kind of captured our fascination early on in the pandemic shutdown but seems like it was five or ten years ago. Maria the president telling fox news host sean hannity last night he put on a brave place publicly for the countrys sake. Joe biden is slamming the decision, calling it a life and death betrayal of the American People. He lied. Thats wrong. Totally irresponsible. Totally irresponsible. What should be the consequence for that . Kick him out of office. Maria and here is what the president told me back in davos, switzerland on january 22nd of this year. I dont think they should be worried. This is one person out of tens of millions of people that travel and we Just Announced it yesterday and its all taken care of and chinas working very hard on the problem. President trump threatened to ban tiktok in the u. S. By september 15th if the business is not bought by an American Company. Microsoft, walmart and oracle are in talks. Maria it is time for the word on wall street. Joining me right now is National Securities corporation chief market strategist, art hogan, Phil O Orlando and back with us, u. S. Strategic Wealth Partners president and ceo, mark tepper. First up, markets this morning pointing to a lower opening. Things have been worsening in the last hour, markets rebounded yesterday following this weeks Major Technology selloff. Major tech Companies Like apple, amazon, microsoft, seeing a 3 rise yesterday. Art, whats your take on whats going on with technology and whether or not this could be the trigger for a longer, drawn out selloff . You know, i think thats a great question, maria. I think the way we look at it, though, is clearly technology has been the leadership. Thats what weve used in the pandemic environment. I think weve been quite evident to us that theres new technology that has made life workable and work from home environment and clearly sponsorship of those equities probably has gotten a bit ahead of itself. Where we entered last week, the rsi on the nasdaq composite index was close to 90 which is 20 handles higher over what we consider overbought. Thats worked its way down to 40. Weve taken excesses out and the single stock moves were more drastic. We can be more comfortable with valuations right now. As we get better news on reopening and vaccines and therapeutics and testing, perhaps a rotation out of these tech names have have been sponsored unilaterally and up and to the right since march 23rd, wanes and bit and we retate into the more economically sensitive and theres probably more valuation to come out of tech right now. Maria so if youve got all these uncertainties, art, do you want to allocate money to stocks here going into the election or do you want to wait to have a better understanding of what the policies will be . Yeah, another great question, marie y i dont think making a bet around the election has ever been a winner, as you go back over the last 5 of of years. Change 50 years. Changing your Investment Plan because of the election is probably the wrong idea. We want a balanced portfolio thats diversified. You want economically sensitive cyclicals. I think that rides through any of the volatility, sees through the fall election cycle, through the u. S. China Technology Cold war were going you through and through the ups and downs of Getting Better news and better readouts on vaccines. Maria let me turn to the economy. We have the weekly jobless claim coming out at 8 30 a. M. Eastern, calling for 146,000 unemployment claims in the last week, job postings in the United States leveling off at the end of the summer, its a sign of easing momentum in the labor market according to the journal this morning. Phil, your reaction to what weve seen in terms of the economic backdrop here and any surprises you see coming out of the jobless claims numbers . So we just had our Macroeconomic Policy Committee meeting at fe federated hermes e 7 million level. Were looking for 850,000 today. The labor market is moving in the right direction. I would reference the jobs report we just got on friday for august which was terrific. In two particular regards. The rate of unemployment came down to 8. 4 for august, from 10. 2 in july. Remember that the Federal Reserve in their fomc meeting in june told us that if everything broke right, maybe we could get the rate of unemployment down to 9 or 10 by the end of the year. Were heading lower. Thats good news. The household survey, we added 3. 8 million household jobs in august, that was triple the level we saw in july. I think the reason for that was the expiration of that 600 unemployment bonus that expired at the end of july. Folks said look, ive got to support my family, im going back to work and i think that phenomenon is going to allow the labor market to accelerate at a healthy pace. Maria look, if we dont get another stimulus package, phil, does this market trade down . How important and impactful will another stimulus package be . We do think we need another stimulus package. Right now, phase four is on life support given where the two sides are. I mean, the situation right now is i think the republicans have put out a 300 number, Speaker Pelosi is still on the 600 bonus and i with the election coming up, i dont know that were going to see Much Movement on that discussion. Maria all right. Then theres china and tiktok, mark, the apps Parent Company can bytedance reportedly in talks with the u. S. To avoid a complete sale of the u. S. Division. The Chinese Government taking steps to put new restrictions on exporting a. I. , this seems to be complicating the talks. Microsoft, oracle, walmart, all considered as potential buyers r er uthr u o. If tiktok gets shut down, users will leave, even if its shut down for a week or two. Users will leave and head over to instagrams reels. China has been stealing our it for years. Now theyre concerned about exporting Artificial Intelligence to us . Come on. Were concerned about tiktok sharing data with the ccp, its obviously a National Security threat. My kids are using it, right. We own both microsoft and walmart, two potential acquirers. I dont think the company fits within their business models. Twitter was mentioned in the past which we also own, i think that would be a better fit. If tiktok gets shut down, i think the winner is facebook. Instagram rolled out reel as a tiktok competitor. I think thats where users would flock to. Maria you dont have any worries that where you own in tech, thats where the growth has been in this market. Thats where the growth has been. Thats where were going to continue to see the growth. Most of the stocks have come too far too fast. A lot of the stocks i mentioned, theyre up 30, 40, 50, 100 this year, in a year where we just experienced the worst recession since the great depression. Would i put new money into those right now . Probably not. You need to identify a price where you believe its reasonable and wait for it to fall into your lap. Maria of course. Art hogan, phil orlando, mark, youre staying with us. Stimulus stalemate, Senate Republicans newest covid19 relief bill set for a vote later this week, the legislation includes a 300 a week unemployment boost through december 27th, it includes funding for state governments, schools and Small Businesses and it forgives the Postal Services 10 of billio10 10 billion loan. It does not include another round of stimulus checks. Joining us now is senator, former reebok and Dollar General ceo, david purdue. Great to see you this morning. Thank you for joining us. Does this bill have a chance . I wish it did, maria. Today is going to be a sad day for america because after we compromised to get cares act and we did it in a true bipartisan way a few months ago, what were seeing now from the other side is just outright object of instructionism obstructionism because were in the political season. This is a bill that needs to get done. The Small Businesses need relief through the balance of the year. We need to get our schools moving. This bill were proposing focuses on getting us back to work, getting us back to school and beating this virus. Maria all at the time that there are politics lacing everything right now, going into an election. Thats one of the issues. Is there anything that you think your side can put on the table that the democrats will agree to or of do they just not want another stimulus package before the election . Well, i hate to be jaded about that. Im trying to make this observation as a true outsider here, that the evidence that they really believe its in their best interest not to have a solution before november. You know, getting people back to work does not fit their mantra that this thing is all going to hell. What weve got is an economy that wants to move. Ten andahalf million new jobs have been created in the last four months in this rebound. Our kids need to get back to school but we need to get them there safely. We have 50 billion for testing, Vaccine Development and future treatment. The obstructionism is blatant. Its the same thing weve seen for four years with the judges. We had the cares act, in a moment of crisis we saw bipartisanship. We need this just as badly now as we did in april. Maria what do you think is going on with the Senate Election . Senator, look, a lot of the things youre saying resonate with our of audience, you know, its true that you want to make sure the economy gets back on track. Were going to have to live with this virus and open of up schools and yet you look across the country and the senate races and people are worried that the republicans are going to lose the majority. How are you feeling about the november election . Im cautiously optimistic the. This is an unsettled year. We had an impeachment, virus pandemic, we have a recovery going on, weve had the huge cares act. They dont like the anarchy they see in democratically run cities right now. Theyre very concerned about public safety. Theyre concerned about their kids and schools and theyre concerned about how to get this economy going again. President trump has demonstrated in the last three andahalf years that we know how to do that. I think thats one of the key things on the mind of voters as they go to the polls in november. Maria and in the middle of this, the president is pushing forward with his policy, the u. S. Will withdraw more troops from the middle east. The commander of u. S. Central command saying that u. S. Troop presence in iraq will drop this month from 5,200 to 3,000. An announcement expected later this week. Your thoughts on this, senator . Well, i spent a good bit of time over there and talked to the president about this. This is a continuation of his measured approach to downsizing our involvement in these foreign wars. Its what he said during the campaign. Hes been saying it consistently for four years. Lets put that in perspective. In january of 2017, the world was a very dangerous place because the democrats under joe biden and barack obama had cut military spending by 25 . Weve reversed that now. Were rebuilding the military. We just gave the military the largest pay increase in a decade. So this president has demonstrated he fully supports having a strong military. We have allies ayou lining with us right now aligning with us, investing further they their selfdefense, in nato and asian ports. I think were headed in the right direction in both those counts. Maria all right. We will leave it there. Senator, always a pleasure to see. Thank you, sir. Thanks, maria. Maria well be watching the developments. Senator david perdue. Coming up, banning facial recognition, important story, one state taking action. We will bring it to you. Hitting the links, more americans teeing off during the pandemic. Youre watching mornings with maria live on fox business. Well be right back. The big events are back. Xfinity is your home for the return of live sports. Maria welcome back. Banning facial recognition, portland, oregon will immediately halt the use of this technology for local police and City Government but will also ban private businesses that serve the public like Grocery Stores from using facial recognition as well. Devices can still be used in private homes. Dagen, this has been an ongoing issue throughout various locales that the worry is that its being misused. Dagen this is the broadest ban by any city in the country as it appears right now. Other cities including oakland and San Francisco have banned the use of facial recognition technology. But this includes governments, say, local Law Enforcement but also businesses that serve public use. So but i just want to highlight in the left wing looniverse if you will, the misplaced priorities. This is what the city council is most concerned about right now . Not the rioting and unrest, a city that has looked like a war zone, literally for months. A governor of oregon thats resisted bringing in the National Guard in an active role. And a city the city council stood by and watched portland burn and done nothing about it. So i would just raise the question, is it are they acting now of to ban this to prevent Law Enforcement from actually figuring out who these protesters are and arresting them . And putting up a roadblock for the feds . Again i would expect to see a great deal more charges coming from the federal government, from the Justice Department under the travel act. People crossing state lines to commit violent acts. And also trying to prove that these are racketeering enterprises, that these groups of protesters are in fact groups, organized groups. I just raise that issue here. Maria yeah. Its a really important issue that you raise. That is exactly the reason, dagen. You know that, so that people do not know who is on the protest lines. Thats what they did in hong kong. They banned any use of cameras or so you wouldnt know they were trying to cover their faces because the Chinese Communist party put cameras everywhere around hong kong so they would know who is on the protest lines. Dagen so is the Portland City Council accusing the federal government, local Law Enforcement, of being like communist china . I dont know. Theres got to be a line like we believe in Law Enforcement and the rioters and protesters theyre violent anarchists. Theyve not been charged or of prosecuted by the local da, mike schmidt. So thats a huge issue. I just question the timing of why the city council would do this now. Its a sanctuary city in myriad ways including a sanctuary for rioters and criminals. Maria thats a great point. Mark, what do you you think . Here you have a situation where every night youre looking at a situation that looks like baghdad in 1990 and yet were talking about facial recognition. Mark yeah, i mean, its a dumb fight to be fighting but, you know, look, there is no doubt that facial recognition is an imperfect science. I mean, i understand where theyre at least coming from. I know whenever my wife posts pictures of my oldest daughter on facebook, facebook tags my daughter as me. Ive seen is firsthand. From a security standpoint, it can certainly provide some direction even if it does get me confused with my daughter. The issue has always been racial biases and the potential misuse and it kind of reminds me of the Innocence Project which has fought back against bite mark analysis which would prove to not be very accurate in convicting criminals and the Innocence Project used dna to exonerate convicted prisoners. So, look, i mean, this facial recognition, i think it can give you guidance. It can lead you in the right direction. You cant use it as a basis for a conviction. Were fighting the wrong fight here. Maria yeah, exactly. Quick break and then General Motors and uber team up for a souped up partnership, we will have it for you after this short break. And then covid19 forcing Corporate America to evaluate employees and productivity. Were taking a look, right after this short break. Stay with us. Ooh baby,. Its making me crazy. Its making me crazy. Uber is down slightly in the premarket. I just rode in a tesla via uber, it was lovely and very quiet in new york city. Maria thank you so much. Companies are looking forward, covid19 forcing Corporate America to evaluate their workforce and productivity. Many businesses adapted to a new work flow and culture virtually. Joining me on the phone is the global chairman of ernst young, ceo, carmine desidio. Great to have you. Welcome back. Tell us about the Way Companies are adapting. Youre calling it the three cs of covid. Yes, thanks, maria. Great to be here. Sorry im on the phone and not live. We had a little bit of an issue. Its all about connection, culture and community and when we talk about connection, its actually all the surveys of out there that our clients are doing as well as ourselves have been changing, more and more people now do want to get back to an Office Environment or at least an environment where they can collaborate with their coworkers. So the surveys now are almost 50 50 where two or three months ago people were much more afraid. And also of, coming into past the summer months, at least in the northern he hemisphere, ceos and leaders of companies are worried about product activity, mental productivity, Mental Health of their employees. I do see a shift to make sure people are getting back to offices. I like to look at this by sector. The tech sector, anyone who is connecting us more virtually as consumers, theyre not so concerned on this and theyre doing he very well in this environment, so forth. Anyone who is connecting us more physically, whether thats entertainment, airlines and so forth, they are anxious to get everyone back. If i look at the Financial Services sector, some of the large banks in new york, where some of them early on said we dont need office space and so forth, now theyre going the other of way. Now theyre saying, we need to get our of employees back in the office, its a productivity issue, a Mental Health issue, its a compliance issue. So we are seeing things shifting. In europe, maria, theres our offices in london are open now, offices in europe are open of, we had 20 to 30 capacity. In the u. S. Were behind in terms of opening offices. Were looking at how to do that as well. Maria do you think this was a surprise to companies that having employees work remotely is actually working, that many are more productivity than before and do you think that were going to see a change in terms of how work goes, you howe work and whether or not were going to see more people working from home . Yes, the answer to that is yes. There is no doubt that it was a surprise in terms of how well things have gone and how people are able to work from home. The i do think the pendulum would shift way over and i think has shifted too much and so while i think that people will continue to work from home, there will be a balance. We always had people we were very flexible with our people, people were able to work from home. I think in other sectors maybe not as much. But thats going to increase. So i could see even when we get more normalized in general, 15, 20 , maybe even more, 25 on any given day of people working from home. But it will not be where were at 5 50, 60, 70 . That i dont think will happen. I think people are realizing for innovation, collaboration, for Mental Health, in particular young people. Many surveys weve done, young people want to be back in a offices, they dont want to be stuck in an apartment, they want to make sure theyre building a business network. Another thing were finding, talking to our clients, when were leveraging relationships that we had in terms of business, its very hard to develop a relationship via zoom or any of the technologies and so i do think that thats going to shift. I do think also that working from home is here to stay in a bigger way than what we were used to pre the pandemic. Maria how is this changing the real estate situation . I know a handful of managers are renegotiating their real estate space, they dont want the high end, 60 Story Building anymore. They dont need the space. How does that affect things in real estate . And what is your expectation for an economic recovery . Feels fragile in the United States and around the world. Were waiting on the ecb right now to tell us about the eurozone. Were waiting on jobless claims in about an a hours time to give us a sense of whats happening in the u. S. Give us your sense of the economic recovery and what working from home will mean for the real estate space. On the economic recovery, theres no doubt we believe there will be a sawtooth recovery and so it will recover. Theres so much stimulus going on around the world. There will be some pentup demand. But it will be choppy going forward. And so obviously things like a vaccine and anything like that will be helpful. But the imf has global gdp decreasing by 5 , in the u. S. Theyre saying its going to be 8 . I think thats going to evolve as we go forward over the next quarter to two quarters and it will be choppy because there will be situations where there will be more breakouts of the pandemic, there will be issues. I think it will be a steady stream up over the next year or two in terms of a recovery. In terms of real estate, i do think real estate is going to change, in particular i think suburban real estate, even from an Office Perspective will look attractive again as well as the actual configuration of office space will change. There will be a lot more of convening space, versus things like cubicles and so forth. In the short term, its interesting, people really want to get their people back. Some people have had to take extra space temporarily because of the distancing involved. And others are looking at how much space do they need in terms of cost. Maria okay. We will leave it there. Carmine, great to get your insights this morning. Thanks so much. Thank you, maria. And very happy to be on. Maria thank you so much. Chairman of the ey. Indoor dining coming back to new york city, restaurants can begin serving tables inside at 25 capacity beginning september 30. Joining me right now, new york city Restaurant Owner and the father of lady gaga, Joe Germanotta. Welcome. Hi, how have you been . Maria ive been well, thank you. How have you been, more importantly, given this shutdown in new york . What is this reopening and this ability to operate inside mean for your business, joe . Well, you know, im speaking probably not just for myself but for everybody. I mean, you know, 25 is, what, slightly more we have slightly more than 25 now in outdoor dining. So september 30th when it gets cold in new york well lose the outdoor so were actually going to lose seats. Right. So i mean, the governor and the mayor gave us a great big nothing burger. Thats my opinion. Maria yeah. I mean, thats what i was thinking yesterday as well. What is 25 . But tell me, joe, how would you deal with the fact that we need to be social distancing, that we need to be Wearing Masks . Thats really the idea behind the 25 , right, to ensure there arent too many people in one space and that we are not sitting close to one another. So have you already addressed that in terms of changing the way you operate . I did. I did. You know, we spaced out the tables with six feet, in addition to that what we did was we hung plexiglass from the ceiling so theres physical dividerred between the tables. We made sure the pathways were sufficient enough so people werent close to other diners. All the staff received the guidelines, masks, gloves, et cetera, et cetera. But ive got to share with you, maria, the guidelines that we received were very vague. I mean, theres one guideline in there, i dont even understand, it says some part one person in every party has to have Contact Tracing on. I mean, i dont even know what that means. Maria yeah. Yeah. I mean, it is an extraordinary new normal, really, joe. New york city mayor bill de blasio is warning if the five boroughs hit a 2 covid19 positivity rate, officials will reevaluate Indoor Dining. So how are you ensuring that youll be able to operate and get through this if youre not even sure if the Indoor Dining is going to be longterm . Well, look, we can all only do the best we can. The problem is, i think not necessarily for myself but for many owners its going to be that 25 capacity is not going to be enough. All right. And its not going to carry them through past through the end of the year, for sure. We dont understand why 5 50 is everywhere else and you know its going to be hard not only on us, but it affects our landlords, it affects our food purchaspurveyors, food costs wio up. I cant bring back more employees. Im probably going to have to raise prices again. Its got a Ripple Effect throughout the city. Health is definitely an issue. We do understand that. We have to have a chance to survive. Maria you know, you mentioned landlords. Another Restaurant Owner told me landlords are no longer sympathetic. The Balance Sheets are destroyed with deferred rent into 2021. Even the ppp money is treated as taxable income and all of the both 50 of independents are under serious pressure and may very well close in the next 90 days. Do you feel that kind of pressure that we could actually see an industry get much smaller because were going to see closings . And you mentioned the landlords. Does that runnin ring true to y . Im sympathetic with my landlord. I try to send him something every month, all right, because i know hes getting hurt. If i cant send him everything, i send him something. And as far as closures, i believe were probably going to lose 35 or 40 of the restaurants in new york city and its really sad because the restaurants were probably the primary employer in the city and were the lifeblood of new york city making a comeback and as usual maria youre right. As usual, i think the mayors looking for another way to stall our economy and take money out of the hands of Small Businesses with fines and et cetera. They already said theyre going to send undercover inspectors. So basically somebody could look in a window, an inspector could look in a window and the next day i receive a summons in the mail that says there was an offense and heres a 10 of thousand dollars fine or 10,000 fine or were suspending your liquor license. But the hang seng shanghai composite in china lower, Dagen Mcdowell mark tepper has been a busy one. Dagen amazing interview with Joe Germanotta talking more about restaurants reopening best interview on that he was terrific i want to get into it real impact to jobs and economy. President trump is defending himself following the release of parts of interview with bob woodward he revealing president downplayed covid19 to avoid panic joining me Senate Small Business Entrepreneurship Committee chairman member of the Senate Foreign relations Senate Appropriations committee marco rubio great to see you he thank you very much for joining us. Thank you that is a lot of jobs, isnt it just read. Owe got a lot of jobs, i know that youve been working on so much in terms of getting stimulus reacting to accessory with stimulus i recognize you have been doing a a lot in terms of Small Business give your reaction, to what were hearing from bob woodward what president said did once covid was was pretty much known to all of us. Well, look i havent read the book i am we have so much going on here i am not going to probably read it or here in books out let me say a couple things i did listen to part of the audio okay, what first of all, what the president did, i mean despite what he heard on that tape they did ban of entry from china, they began to move the operation in government ultimately will mobilized private industry to have ventilators one time a real atmosphere would have a shortage we are going to have a vaccine faster than any time in the history of the world going to be a real vaccine not a fake russian one, so these are all things that have happened mobilized. And deserve credit for it now do i prefer the American People have been told, more fully sort of risks threat early on sure, i think, there is alleges risk if we had done that january early february could i guarantee we would have seen same reaction being when we did china travel ban criticism china flexibility from impeachment rob people, multiple Media Outlets down balleting the virus threat to the country, so, that said i think hindsight few extra weeks on front end having done more about it would have been helpful but i dont think that negates all the positive things that they have done to help respond to to truly impressive historic challenge. Meantime, the president has been first president to pushback on china its bad behavior you have been working a lot on this i will talk to you about this, case protecting intellectual property has become top of the agenda, the u. S. Revoking visas more than 1,000 chinese nationalize, a state Department Spokesperson notinging that those banned are high risk graduate Students Research scholars representing a small subset of those entering the United States, for education, senator, what can you tell us about this you have been at forefront of protecting our information from china. Tie calling on treasury secretary Steven Mnuchin to review the acquisition of an american Nutrition Company gmc, to Chinese State pharmaceutical companion how does this happen. First of all, that company one of the things Chinese State owned enterprises have been able to do go in as investors sort of buy up Companies Get ahold of them in distress people say who cares [a Vitamin Company gmc it is about data gmc holds dalt on millions of americans if anyone has o gone to gmc a account take down phone number Purchase History information, payment history data, personal data on individuals, are probably the most valuable commodity in the world everything on Data Intelligence National Security the way we sell commercial products delivery medicine to turn over to a country like china that has a clear, not just Economic Policy but predatory seek not system over tick United States but document geopolitical power in the world selfinflicted the data that will belong to the Chinese Government. Same issue when it comes to hotels, there are hotels, that are owned by Chinese Companies, when you go up to check in, they are taking your picture taking your data, all of this data mined, is Chinese Communist Party Tracking that tracking american citizens . Well most certainly have ability to if they wanted it any Company Tells chinese Company Tells you that is not true is being disingenuous chinese law basically says if we tell you we want data you have to give it to us the issue with tiktok not videos it is data they are collecting extraordinary amounts of data, on the people using it, and and it happens to be younger americans today teens 10, 15 years from now National Security leaders 25 years from now ceo Important Companies that gives information not just about them but people in lives, most 14 year olds dont the own their own phones that phone is provided to them by a family and parents others again i cant emphasize enough how important data is in 21st century, and how being able to steal it operationalize it the way Chinese Government can poses a dlaet to this country. Really, really important points that you are making that data can be used against us used empower Chinese Military a list that is owned by chinese milt huawei, many of them why so important we learned earlier this week that now, the Chinese Communist party has built a larger navy than United States. United States Government microsoft worked for the department of defense we dont own microsoft we dont own at t dont own google amazon, the case of companies, they are structured like independent but you no company in china is independent none they are all under control of of government if you are one of the Companies Technology company you are now, providing like huawei, service for Broadband Service 5g so forth they have to be strategically okay located near american you installations or make cameras installed in military facilities opportunities for backdoors china just uses a backdoor get into camera internet 5g network, have a realtime presence in our country near military bases here our basesaround the world, through companies they control and have to do whatsoever Chinese Government military tell them to do so it is a very dangerous situation, it is important. Maria which is why you have been aiming to stop of or limit amount of investment into the Chinese Military, from the United States. You know in terms of stopping investments into china that is what president tried to do with stopping the thrift fund for investing in Chinese Companies that are in many cases Building Military equipment, did that with Railroad Retirement as well what is your take on big ipos coming there is xpang, chin data, the group going fub in hong kong is this going. Absorb u. S. Investments in china to power military. Do you think Corporate America unsdz maybe they should start thinking National Security issues when it comes to americas safety not welling widget its to 1. 4 billion people. Some company do many dont they are looking for rate of return want value for shareholders, good quarterly pom investing in companies almost exclusive access is attractive to them that is a blind spot for us also driving American Investment dollars away from creating jobs, places that our country deindustrialized gutted towards bullying national, pose a threat to National Security think into are ony. Members u. S. Military have funds invested for retirement in that fund that money is used to invest in companies that are building weapons designed to kill them that is how ridiculous it is. That is ridiculous, the senate aiming to pass stimulus plan today 00 a week for unemployment through december 27 where are the sticking points does this bill have life do you think this is actually going to pass . Well it should because will make things better that is this the thing we cant do everything, we can do something to make things better that will help people it is ultimately probably going to become law identical nancy pelosi senator schumered my addition they are better off doing than nothing go nothing for dept they will proclaim donald trump vote against republicans in november that is calculation theyve made as long as that is the calculation they hold, i think they are going to object to doing anything, and made that decision a while back unfortunate i think rankandfile democrats are ready to do a detail but not allowing them to negotiate or talk to us as a result, Small Businesses individual americans, schools, all going to be hurt not getting funds that are right there we can vote on it mass it because Nancy Pelosi Chuck schumer have decided, that it had is better off for them in november, and joe biden if we do nothing so things get bad and donald trump gets blamed for it. That is a sad state of affairs, as far as your role on senate intel, committee i want to ask you about thank you russia he probe waiting on jun john durhams investigation we know fbi briefed committee february 2018 when clear dossier was garbage did fbi lie or really not not have candor with Senate Intel Committee when it records findings on dossier yes, yes, members fbi staff met with members of the Intel Committee staff did not brief members individually if you go through final volume shows you what we said one thing report basically points to i pointing do perhaps single biggest piece interference was steele dossier prepared by foreign foreign sources tried to inject it into campaign fbi gave it credibility when she should not gave it credibility against advice strenuous objection of Intelligence Committee told hymn dont use this stuff fbi moved forward on it anyway there needs to be he consequences for that. Hillary clinton paid for that dossier during election year, one political party, digging dirt on another senator marco rubio great to see you this morning. Thank you. Thank you. Well be right back. State of 2020 race am i guest hopes for republican nomination in 2016 this time around she is voting for joe biden. Joining me right now he former ceo of hewlettpackard, former republican president ial candidate herself Carly Fiorina thanks for being here. Great to be with you maria thanks for having me. Maria i think when you were running for president what you were saying resonated so much with so many people. About the power being concentrated at the top the Decision Making tell me why you were voting for joe biden, knowing what was so problematic to you back then really resonated with people do you not see that with joe biden . I see it with donald trump. I think there is no question that power continues to be concentrated in washington, d. C. , republicans democrats have been guilty of that as i said in 2015 and 2016 i mean look at, for example, how money was distributed during the pandemic, all of that money came out of washington, d. C. , with Donald Trumps name on the checks. We should have done instead block grant that money to states who would have been more able to target it not towards Pension Funds mismanaged in too many states but smul business ask, and individuals i think power continues to be concentrated in washington, d. C. , and, yes, it is a problem. But maria i come from the world of business, as do you. And in business, results count. And i think the results sadly of this president are clear whether pandemic, whether it is Foreign Policy whether it is current state of the economy, where i think longlasting damage is now being done, i think the results are clear, and i think sadly we need to fire him in november although i voted for him last time around. So carly do you think now that you are seeing a situation where it is really trumps failures that you are talking about, that is causing you to vote for joe biden, or do you see policies that biden has that you believe will resonate . Is this a vote against trump . Well, i think it is a little bit of both honestly yes, i think it is a vote against trump and his results but i also think it is a vote against his leadership style i have said many, many years leaders solve problems they change order of things for the better, in order to solve problems a leader collaborates, always with others, including those that they dont always agree with. What joe biden has done, i dont agree with joe biden on everything, but what he has demonstrated over a lifetime is that he has the humanity and empathy to collaborate with others hes done it over a liberalism i think he will do it now honestly we need humility empathy in public life. Because that is what draws people together we got a lot of problems, are we need to solve them. And it ticks i think leadership to solve them he sadly i think donald trump has failed every test of leadership. Is it carly quick as we wrap up if you were to see the bidenharris ticket succeed is there any reason to believe joe biden doesnt carry through on four years for the a first term and that Kamala Harris becomes president would you be comfortable with that . Well that is a wild hypothetical maria i learned in politics not to answer how about wild . It is not being wild given what we heard from joe biden. I think it is i think it is pretty wild i pi joe biden looks vigorous on campaign trail, i think donald trump a few years behind not that long ago Michael Bloomberg running more senior i think 70 plus different today than several decades ago. I totally agree with you one hundred percent living longer but really talking about gaffes joe biden has made speculation around his wherewithal, in terms of what were hearing from him is not really the age i agree with you. I think donald trump has made a lot of gaffes but i am more concerns about donald trump, for example, telling bob woodward february e7 Global Pandemic is deadly stuff telling American People seasonal flu was worse. We will leave it there great to see you this morning thank you so much, much more on mornings with maria stay with us. Well be right back. Im hector. Maria welcome back Indoor Dining coming back to new york city, restaurants can resume seating customers. I had provided 25 capacity will happen september 30 temperature checks at door facial mask wearing social distancing rules no bar seating at all Dagen Mcdowell lets talk about this what do you think . That listening to Joe Germanotta talk about rules being extremely vague that is going to be one problem, quite frankly, the vile dangerous conditions that you see in every new york city neighborhood in our streets, are really i think forcing the governor and mayors hands on this, it be ability and also the fact that you have that report that about twothirds of new york restaurants will go out of business start going out of business by the end of the year unless they reopen indoors there is a problem of rent you have raised over and over again. That 25 capacity you will still have restaurants going under because they cant pay their rent without, you know, being able to fill up but in terms of idiocy that weve heard of governor andy cuomo just recently i think last week he recommended that the City Council Speaker cory Johnson Assembly task force, 4,000 Police Officers to enforce social distancing in if restaurants. So that is more important for the police than actually arresting criminals in new york city. Unbelievable, unbelievable that that is what task force is going to do, meanwhile, people are getting robbed, attacked, and crime numbers are skyrocketing, you mentioned lady gagas father Restaurant Owner Joe Germanotta was with us last hour said 25 capacity is not enough. To save the industry, i agree. I tweeted about that the other day. These companies are still going out of bismarck what about the comment he has a to look behind his back to see what spies are outside watching waiting for any break in the rules, or to come and give them a fine look, new york needs the revenue mark right. So main concern are they going to either shut you down or fine you to try and make a couple bucks . Look. I dont understand where they came up with september 30 first and foremost why not do it now, in 25 , is to let not enough i dont understand why i dont insnot 50 , at 25 especially when you get to mid october, where weather gets dicey, these restaurants are going to go out of business so this is completely devastating it is ruining peoples lives putting restaurants owners out of business. What i dont hear enough people talking about, are the other unintended consequences of economic shutdown overe Drug Overdose are up suicides up divorce rates up all this stuff this is what happens when people are locked at home, when sheltered from other people, when businesses go bellyup outside of their control. Dagen i want to put outog. Maria even worse. Dagen i want to point out something positive though. In my neighborhood garages are full people have come back. Of the you know i dont know where they are working a lot of businesses arent there is a lot of corporate offices have not reopened but people do seem to be coming back, the restaurants on the streets, seem to just based on daily observations seem more crowded, maybe that helps offset the crime. Maybe that help offset the kind of just general mayhem that of you in the streets because more people he will who are out, that you have , you know, people criminals are less likely to attack somebody ferry fear that well people that you get tackled by crowded of new yorkers had enough i thought a good sign to see. We do root for new york i just dont root for the leaders who have turned this city into a hellhole a living nightmare for those people just want to work and care about their safety. What is it going to take to break the city out of what is going on in terms of the crime, and in terms of the massive need for revenue . I mean is it an election . Is it Mayoral Election or does it happen sooner. Is it it will get a lot worst knowing people who grew up in new york in 1970s this can get much worse than it is right now. Maria well that is sad to hear, and, you know, we will see if he mayor de blasio is elected again, or if the public will actually say you know what we need change, given the crime numbers given the loss of business, and recessionary feel that you are seeing, good to hear that you feel more people are out and about, and certainly going back to work, i think the Real Estate Industry is going to be very different, of course, weve got economic numbers coming right now initial jobless claims hitting the jane to cheryl casone. Cheryl yeah, so we are coming in higher on initially claims than expected this is for week ending september 5, estimate 846,000 new initial claims we came in 884,000 new initial claims, now, the continuing claims numbers that ticked a little bit higher 12. 925 estimate continuing claims came in at 13. 358, we are looking for data on ppi right now, we are looking at august ppi you consumption up. 3 a little bit better than expected, for consumption if you look at core numbers this is all crossing right now, if you take out the core number final demand, i told you about for the core food and energy yearoveryear looks like it came in, at right here. 6 ,. 6 giving all numbers crossing right now but, again, looking at the the rest ppi numbers quick month over august 8. 2 i gave you that yearoveryear looking for decline. 3 regular streamlined ppi came in loss. 2, the monthovermonth for august excluded food and energy gain. 4 looking for. 2, 2 core ppi yearoveryear looking for. 3 i gave you that number. 6 quick send it back to you and panel we were at 59. 29 million claims since pandemic began this takes us over 60 million, initial claims, this is in line by the way, the initial claims number with fact job postings down 20 yearoveryear in employment fir include selfemployed gig workers the government instituting when pandemic began maria, back to you. Thank you so much cheryl we are watching a market that has really not moved all that much on these numbers although we are off the lows, dow industrials down 92 nasdaq up 47 points exclusive interview other side of the break founder of Anduril Industries exclusive announcement on drones we will be right back with you dont miss it back in a minute. Ount you choose instead of buying by the share. All with no commissions. Stocks by the slice from fidelity. Get your slice today. Maria welcome back, the most intelligent drone yet breaking news dproj Anduril Industries this morning, reporting and launching its ghost 4 Drone Program this is autonomous military drone flown from anywhere in the world, joining me right now to talk more about this in fox business exclusive is the founder and dur ill Palmer Luckey great to have you this morning thanks for joining us. Thanks for having me. We know that this is the latest in a see are indices ghost products tell me why this drone in particular so is unique. Sure one men and women serving on frontlines fighting for freedom deserve very best Technology Previous versions used by u. S. Forces allied forces including uk role future Commando Force quite sometime as worked with them asked what do you want to see in a drone only available in chinese drones o ghost, are, the best drone in the world, it could be flown from anywhere like predator similarities end fully autonomous wroen used by anyone in the world carried in small backpack, are packs into a case smaller than incredible almost nearly silent can fly for over 100 minutes, from standard battery pack importantly treat more like a real person in real aircraft because of onboard ai core remote controlled, going out finding people, going out tracking a vehicle, patrolling perimeter autonomously do in swarms as well designed from the start to be a teaming base aircraft you can have dozens planes controlled by single operator capability gamechanger for military operations. Palmer i know another capability can operate underwater and i know that you work with various officials to find out what they need in terms of this technology, ghost 4 drones can communicate with each other; right . That is right they can swarm together communicate with each other collaborate on complex tasks, as for underwater government is totally waterproof saltwater xroof proof ii mmerse in water not able to swim in the water with you you drag it along it is part of effort to make this thing, to with survive rigors of military, heat, cold weather proof making sure can survive any kind of wet or dry conditions, and that is something that most drones dont have the military drones, something we talked about before, in fact, that china for the last 10 years has been dominating in on dr. Spies, best droned my by Chinese Companies, to the point you have military units, blowing away drones that cost hundreds of thousands of dollars to use chinese drones that cost hundreds of dollars ghost four means for the first time in a long trooim United States is back on top when it comes to portable drones. This is really important because this story, and your announcement today is not just an innovation announcement this is also a story, about china. And the fact that u. S. Has been so reliant on china even if it comes to drones this is a military product, as the ccp Chinese Communist party is trying to over tick United States become number one military power. Yeah, huge problem even a lot of the u. S. Drone companies owned up going to china for all manufacturing, leaning heavily chinese supply chains development components, there is a point where you have to realize that most American Products are really chinese products we tried to do something very different with this designed in u. S. Made in u. S. Relied on supply chain that is all critical components are coming from close allies of the United States, korea, japan, germany, united kingdom, and that is the right way to build things, for commerce where security implications are huge i think you and i have a lot of agreements on this also in Networking Telecommunications United States needs to get of reliance on Chinese Technology ghost 4 is one step towards doing that, the nice thing in the oppose the getting off chinese drones, meant using inferior technology now the best solution is the american solution. I am very proud of that. This is really important, and you should be proud of this when i came to visit you, at your headquarters during my special on Artificial Intelligence we talked about how china was very close to winning on a. I. , this is pictures of you showing me some of the drones in the drone zone, at Anduril Industries let me ask you Corporate America does not seem to get it palmer you are a patriot you want the most innovative best things for the u. S. Military, because you recognize, the threat, others do not you and i have a conversation, about google how google employees just balked at fact google working with government what do management do canceled walkway from department of defense, your company got that project, you worked with department of defense, that is at the time you said imagine if during world war ii our American Companies said i want a footheld in Imperial Japan not going to work with u. S. Government imagine what that we have meant you think about these things in terms of working with United States government. Yeah, that is why i started the company i started the company because i saw a really disturbing trend for the first time in American History most Innovative American Technology are refusing to do work with department of defense, whether competitive reasons pr, so i wanted to the Defense Technology Companies Like major, being i didnt feel able to lead the way, in areas like autonomy in robotics he they are good at some things they arbitrary good at everything i wanted to start a company where i take people from hightech Companies Put them to york in a newtype of Defense Product company we use our own money to decide what to build who you to build it what is done the build things government wants doesnt yet believe are possible they are still in Science Fiction that is why i started the company i want United States to have best technology i want us to be ready to during like we got to write rules around use of Nuclear Technology in warfare. Just extraordinary, that corporations do not recognize the National Security threat that is Chinese Communist party another thing didnt get any press when it happened was google acquired boston dynamics this is one of the most important robotic companies right what happened with when they acquired boston dynamics they cans oeld all defense contracts they hood with u. S. Government. Well, really big problem with that is creates a lot of problems for other Technology Companies too because you have to understand inside Pentagon Department of defense there is a contingent that only the traditional defense contractors to do all this work, when google was getting even boston getting in contact we do tractors detractors saying we should not give to them they have this will abandon us unfortunately proven right harder for Companies Like mine to harder for small innovative american businesses, because they are afraid that they are afraid Technology Companies are basically going to abandon them in time of need, that is why it is important for business leaders, technology leaders, to stand up, like i see with jeff bezos actually, say you know what were going to military america is special we are American Company also a have access to our best Technology One of the reasons i have respect for jeff he knows what side he is on taken a side not going to be cowed, because of that United States can rely on him. And i want to be in the same position. I like that what you are going to keep going innovating, and regardless of what is happening behind closed doors at pentagon, you are going to come out with the best product you have done again with ghost 4 can gratts, thanks very much for announcing exclusively right here. Maria. Good to see you, thank you so much. Well be right back. Closed doors at pentagon, you before money, people traded goods. Tools, cattle, grain, even shells represented value. Then currency came along. They made it out of copper, gold, silver, wampum. Soon people decided to put all that value into a piece of paper, then proceeded to wave goodbye to value, printing unlimited amounts of money as they passed the buck to the future. Thats why its time for Digital Currency and your investment in the grayscale funds. Go digital. Go grayscale. An extra 15 credit on car and motorcycle policies . How will the nfl look different on fox . Well, if i hear the word unprecedented one more time, i may kick it out of my dictionary completely not unprecedented kicking nfl off tonight on on time safely in kansas city as far as i know there are going to be some fans in the stadium in kansas city tonight looking off to fox nfl sunday with biggest game of the weekend between tom brady drew brees, sunday afternoon. That is going to be biggest game going to be a lot of eyes on big game sunday, eric what is going to be different how should we expect the game on sunday to look different now that weve got new protocols in place to ensure safety . Maria not going to look that different. The the shots on the field going to look exactly the same as if not better because we actually have more access on the sidelines you can put cameras no, probably better places than at stadiums were actually full honestly going to sound as good going to look as good on the wide shots in certain stadiums you are just going to see some signage rather than fans we are actually in our bearslions game testing, a full sometimed of virtual fans on wide shots, just to see if that mix it more exciting, and more normal. 1y50 a yeah, that sounds great that it is not going to look so much different, eric i want to get your take on impact of sports and interruption in business how severe significant as we look forward more normalization in the future stay with us a short break then your take on Business Today and impact on business of sports coming back we will talk viewership right after this. Maria welcome back, we are back with my exclusive with fox sports ceo eric shanks i want to talk viewership what i always say sports, is the highest premium price intellectual property of all. There is a reason that it is priced at premium because that is where the eyeballs are having sports go away during this pandemic is a big deal, characterize that deal for us, and also going into the pandemic, i know that there were lots of renewals expiration of Media Partners what does that look like fox, of course, leading elf pattern given thursday sunday night games the game of the week. Are you expecting changes in terms of digital competitors i know everybody wants from amazon to facebook. First question in pandemic, in early march when everything shut down just like anybody else running a business tough to run a business when supply completely rinse runs out filling airways with, nascar drivers just kind of getting by until actually nascar came back as came back first, are along with nascar, now you get from under supply to what a lot of sports fans are seeing past weekend with the kentucky doctor bee nba playoffs nhl from desert cup running over more sports than you can keep track of an appetizer until this weekend nfl kicked off, and business, the marketers we rely on for advertising, we know that demand is there from viewership from marketing standpoint, demand is good in the sense that there hasnt been a lot of big places, for the big marketers reaching audiences, we love being the nfls biggest partner. Fox was literally 26 years ago, fox sports at least was born to do football we didnt exist until we got nfl rights, in 1994 we like to think fox is football fox primarily a place for americans to come watch football whether nfl or college. And, you know, the talks are ongoing. We would love to reach a resolution that keeps us in premier partnership spot with nfl quitehonestly the universe came out, broadcast television reaches 96 1 2 all americans in u. S. Far exceeding any other technology, actually, other than radio, so oldfashioned radio reaches more people every week, than any other technology, in america. Critical point. Dagen you talked about sports desert that we were all experiencing, in this spring now embarrassment of riches. Talk about how your juggle the production for all of these gigantic sports and sporting events coming in the fall. Well you know from the operations level there has been Silver Lining i am sure at fox news i know that you know we see same thing, in that we are doing things now in ways we never thought we would have to do them. We are learning, that there are some things actually better, for example, we are producing 16 events, in the next 36 hours, some of them are produced onsite some are produced not onsite just having the camera people there, the audio people there producers, talent elsewhere. Maybe not even in same place around the country. And then there are some events where the majority of people are onsite but we have lets say 25 or 30 workforce back here in los angeles, doing things like replays, graphics, and so what happens then one person can actually go do the pipe the packersvikings game replay later in the afternoon, those folks can do the bucs game against saints, connectivity the cloud enabled us to do a lot of things we are going to keep doing going forward. I dont think you have Marketing Muscle you dont have that kind of euphoria, when it comes to digital, that you are providing on a broadcast level in terms of all of the hype, and pomp an circumstance around the broadcast show quick let me get mark in here. Mark . September the in my opinion best month of the year great weather return of football, unfortunately, you are going to have limited fans, when you have less opportunity to attend a game more people are going to watch on tv, and you look for excitement elsewhere, so, my take big winners Sports Betting industry this is where the money i is senate. Maria and you say eric . Well, as you guys know, we were the first Sports Media Company to go allin, on sports wagering we have prospect, that you guys place a bet for this weekend as well as pennsylvania and colorado and more states to come but sports wagering is not only great business but also a way to keep fans more engaged. So when you have ten bucks, 20 bucks on the maria i know its very interactive and weve got lots of guests on wall street. Eric, great to see you,
