Meanwhile Federal Reserve considering this with senior fed official randy saying the coronavirus pandemic is not behind us, fed Richard Clarita saying theres more the federal bank can do. Dagen mcdowell, michael lee strategist, michael lee, former republican president ial candidate steve forbes. Great to see everybody this morning, thank you so much for being here. Tom, let me get your thoughts on what we heard from the fed yesterday and then, of course, all of the news of spike in coronavirus cases, what are you seeing from the money end of it, how are the investment flows . Absolutely, its two worlds absolutely, maria, we have one of the decisions where tough Economic News surely earnings concerns, however investors remain confident, we have seen 225 billion in new money going to etfs this year which is great prompter for Consumer Confidence and Investor Confidence and you point out a very important thing. The money has been going into a certain sector of the market, work from home stocks, traditional fang stocks, microsoft and you look at the nasdaq which makes up 8 of the nasdaq 100 stocks. We as a country are doing the best in this environment and actually thriving and many of the Tech Companies are moving up their growth plans because of this environment. Theres some other etfs like arkk and Cloud Computing by global x, which has Companies Like zoom, spotify, all companies that we are hearing hit new highs as this market and internet market and work from home market continues to expand. Maria yeah, of course, we are moving into the earning season, michael lee jump in here, we will get banks next week, secondquarter season will that start to dictate when Second Quarter begins . Tom, my question for you what has been the most surprising flow into etfs which is earning sector either in equities or fixed incomes that really shocked you . Tom well, the great thing, michael as you know the fed has stepped up and bought etfs in corporate and high yield side, areas of fallen angels where they supported highyield stocks in the forms of etfs to really provide backstop and then back to Technology Side its just amazing the amount of money thats flowing into the qqq, nasdaq etf, the s p 500, almost 20 has made up the fang stocks and if the fang stocks werent there we wouldnt see the rebound that we are seeing. Its down 10 overall so we have bifurcation in stocks across the u. S. Maria thats a good point, tom. Let me ask you about the backdrop. Did you hear anything about all of the fed speakers that we heard from yesterday about where we are in this economic recovery and when you expect normalization. I seep saying that larry kudlow told us 2 weeks ago that the Third Quarter we will see growth of 20 . Thats that is a real difference from what we are seeing in the Second Quarter which is, of course, contraction, when do you expect growth once again in this economy . Its really unclear because most companies arent giving us the transparency that weve expected in the past, maria, and you know that, one thing we can be confident of, though, if the fed and the government need to step in again, theyve kept some powder dry and we can expect that to happen. We can see that confidence in wall street. Maria interesting when you keep talking about 10 trillion in stimulus between the government and Federal Reserve. Steve forbes, jump here in. Steve tom, im wondering would the tech part of the market be hit by the prospect, when would it be hit by the prospect if the democrats take the senate, im surprised they havent taken that into consideration with higher taxes, all the things that bring about slow growth. Why isnt the market reacted more to that possibility when you look at the polls . Tom steve, its a great point. I think the only saving grace here is these Technology Companies enabled america to actually thrive in many cases during these challenging times. You think about the Financial Adviser industry, 350,000 Financial Advisers around the country forced to work from home, run their businesses, deal with their clients, hand holding going while kids are running around and because of technology and companies that we talked about they are able to operate where maybe 10 years ago that wouldnt happen. A lot of concern as we get closer to november if it looks like the democrats are strong. Maria all right, we will be watching certainly, tom, good to have you this morning, thank you so much. Tom lydon. Coming up this hour meet crypto currency entrepreneur and former child actor now running for president. We will get his 2020 platform coming up and next hour former new york city mayor Rudy Giuliani here to talk about recent spikes in crime about the country. What can be done about it . Lee zeldon joining me about the fbis pushback on chinese cybercrimes, we heard from the director of the fbi yesterday and this morning acting department of Homeland Security, secretary chad wolf talking about inyeahing violence and combating china all coming up right here much more ahead. But first up dr. Mike is here to talk about toxic Hand Sanitizers and how your blood type could affect your coronavirus risk. Dont miss that. Show on the water, plan for floating Movie Theater. Maria welcome back, fbi alert director Christopher Wray warning that chinese efforts to steal american information are growing at a shocking rate calling them one of the largest transfers of wealth in Human History, watch. Weve now reached the point where the fbi is opening a new chinarelated counterintelligence case about every 10 hours. Of the nearly 5,000 active fbi counterintelligence cases currently underway across the country, almost half are all related to china. Maria wray added that if you are an american adult, china has likely already stolen your personal data. Joining me right now American Enterprise institute researching fellow zach cooper, zach, great to have you this morning, thank you so much for being here. Another really important speech yesterday from the fbi director Christopher Wray. This follows a similar speech recently from Robert Obrian and youre going to get another speech from the secretary of state and the attorney general within the next 2 weeks, we see the threat, our audience understands the threat. We have been talking about this for over a year in terms of what china and the communist party has been doing. What is the u. S. Going to do about it . Thats a great question. What we saw in 2015 the chinese promised they were going to stop the behavior and as you saw yesterday from director wray it hasnt stopped if anything he would argue that it has accelerated. I think the administration will come under increasing pressure to put this at the top of the agenda and thats going to put more pressure on the trade deal. There were provisions in the trade deal to try and address this but if the behavior is continuing itll be difficult for the president to continue forward with that deal. Maria so one of the things here is that china is trying to leap ahead of the United States in Significant Technology advancements like ai, quantum computing, et cetera, but theyre not ding it in terms of working with the United States or trying to educate its people about this, they are just stealing it. This is the first time we have seen major government have an official strategy, espionage and theft but thats exactly what the Chinese Communist party is doing. Thats right, and i think to stop it we are going to have to really put the relationship on the line and i think thats what the Obama Administration tried to do in 2015, but werent willing to actually pull the trigger and put penalties and now thats the task up to the Trump Administration. Theyve taken real action recently, they have put in places director wray outlined whole investigation that has gone after many, many people who have been involved in this behavior back in china, many of them are associated with Stateowned Enterprises with the federal government directly, even with the People Liberation army and cyber hacking and i think thats not going to be enough. This would be a bigger issue particularly as people think about the scope of this behavior as director ray has said and others, this is the largest theft of anything in Human History, Something Like 250 billion in intellectual property theft, a year from china. Maria yeah, and what theyre doing is they are using our intellectual property that they stole and then they are using it to actually compete against the very companies that theyve stolen the intellectual property for. A couple of months ago i mentioned that they are stealing data about medical advancements and they are filing patent with that information that they stole to beat the very companies that they stole it from to get a patent. Its actually incredible. What about the thousand talents programs because this is one of the issues where china has exploited, the thousand talents program, the chinese federal government tryies to entice scientists to bring science and innovation back to china, how do you do it, do you do away with the thousand talents programs or Sportsman Program . Things like thousand talents where i think there are serious questions to be asked. Director wray outlined a whole series of individuals who were part of the thousand talents program. They were incentivized to bring information back to china, to bring knowledge and know how to china and in some cases do it covertly and one case as jot lined yesterday individual got 50,000 a month covertly to bring information and to do the same thing that he was being paid by the u. S. Government to do here in the United States. That kind of behavior absolutely has to stop. Maria right. I think we have to differentiate that from the positive work which is, you know, sometimes the students being here and studying and bringing money into our university system. Maria right, and thats the trick, how do you differentiate who is working for the ccp and who isnt. I dont think you actually can. What about the issue that the white house officials warning federallyadministrative Retirement Plan for Railroad Workers against investing in Chinese Companies saying additional sanctions can be ahead in return for chinas role in spreading the coronavirus. National security adviser robert brian and director of National Economic Council Larry Kudlow wrote this letter. The nrri trusts investment in prc expose it is Retirement Funds of Railroad Workers to significant and unnecessary risks. Zach, this is similar to thrift fund where the president wrote to thrift fund and said stop investing into companies that are either sanctioned or working for the Chinese Military building equipment that may very well be used against the United States one day . Thats right, i think that this is just the beginning. We are going to see more pressure on folks to divest from these kinds of funds because they think that theres real risks especially when companies havent been audited. Exactly. Great to see you. Zach cooper, we will be right back. Now is the time for a new bath from bath fitter. Every bath fitter bath is installed quickly, safely, and beautifully, with a lifetime warranty. Maria welcome back, civil activists leaders slamming facebook and ceo mark zuckerberg. The groups claiming that zuckerberg seemed to show no sign to curb questionable speech on facebook. Dagen mcdowell, your thoughts . Dagen facebooks own auditors, outside legal team that looked into this essentially said the same thing that facebook is doing too little on civil rights concerns and too reactive and slow in addressing hate speech, voter suppression, other problematic content on the platform. This is in the wall street journal today. Weve known this for years and now you have advertisers boycotting facebook. Theyre essentially using the current mood and their own virtue signaling as cover to costs during pandemic then they would probably be cutting costs anyway. Advertisers are seeing noble, just when people were committing suicide and murder on live stream on facebook literally for years where a man killed his infant child on facebook 3 years ago. Where were all of these companies then . In terms of civil rights, i will point to this, that these companies, these progressive towers of wealth of prosperity, google and facebook to name two, have all locked out black americans when it comes to hiring during their entire existence. The rich liberals are actually a problem but they get a pass from the media, when will that end, and the numbers bear this out. If you look at facebooks overall workforce, 3. 8 workforce is represented by black americans in technical jobs it is 1 and a half percent. So thats where if you want to talk about spreading the wealth, opportunity in this country and really lifting up all people, thats your problem and start at the stop of these liberal leftwing Technology Companies. Maria yeah, rather than destroying infrastructure and taking down statutes lets put real money to work in terms of helping lowerincome communities, where is the actual work in terms of changing and making the workforce more diversified . You make a great point . Dagen i asked a Top Executive that, probably a couple of years ago, i asked him that privately and i said, you grew up in a rural part of the country, why dont you put tech centers in that where you grew up to give these areas even before the pandemic among black men, they had unemployment rates that were 20 or even higher and the response to that was, its just disgraceful. Maria yeah, instead, you know, we have in rural areas of america right now hauwei and now we are realizing the threat that is hauwei and that is what is being used. Theres infrastructure in this country in rural areas of america and those people are being surveilled by hauwei. I guess it makes sense. Its hard to drink with a mask on in the plane, maria. Those are your headlines. [laughter]maria yes, it does. Its a false narrative to take comfort in a lower rate of at that time. Theres so many other things that are very dangerous and bad about this virus. Dont get yourself into false complacency. Maria one expert says that americans will likely need to wear masks for, quote, several years. Joining me right now dr. Family medicine physician mikhail varshavski, aka, dr. Mike, what do you think of this mask issue, are we Wearing Masks for years to come . Doctor i think we have to as dr. Anthony fauci said, we have to respect this virus. Weve gotten very complacent in the safety that we are seeing that theres a lower death rate despite the fact that we are having more cases, but the reason why thats problematic is even though we are having less deaths or lower death rate we are seeing more and more morbidity which is higher hospitalizations, worst outcomes for those patients over time because any time they get sick with the virus obviously youre having symptoms in those moments but you also have lasting illness. When you come out of an icu setting just because you didnt die doesnt mean all is well. So we are going to be wearing the masks for the extended future especially when the flu season comes around. The fall is really close, maria, and we are going to have the common cold, the flu, coronavirus mixed in there, its going to be really a difficult time for a Hospital Systems so the things that we can control we should control and that means wearing your mask. Maria yeah, i think its really funny what the journal wrote about yesterday and that is dagen mcdowell, you saw this oped, the japanese routinely wear masks and they wear masks to ward off hay fever and colds and because of that and the constant wearing of masks theyve actually been able to avoid the worst effects of this pandemic without mandatory lockdowns, dagen, because they are used to wearing the masks, they always wear the masks. Dagen dr. Mike, like it or not, you have a long way to go, the medical community to convince people that they need to wear a mask because i think you need to highlight actual proof that wearing a mask prevents spread of illness. I went to a Grocery Store in the rural south and maybe half of the people in the store were Wearing Masks. Youre supposed to. The Grocery Store chain says that youre supposed to cant come in but they are not policing it and you will get into a fistfight if you tell people to put a mask on. Whats upset to go me, dagen, you have individuals on one side individuals yelling at folks to wear mask and frankly the medical community, we dropped the ball in the beginning by telling folks to not wear masks, we are seeing that these arent going to protect you. We actually did that correctly because at the time we didnt have evidence that those without symptoms can be spreading the virus so much but as weve learned more weve updated our guidance but because of this change, weve confused folks, i urge the general public, crust in the cdc, we are out in your best interest. We want to protect you and limit the spread of the virus and while wearing is uncomfortable, it is not dangerous to your health and it does shorten the spread of this virus. Maria yeah, it does protect you and everybody around you. I want to ask you about blood type and blood type playing a role in the covid protection. People with type 0 blood are 35 less likely to develop severe coronavirus symptoms while those with type a blahed 45 to see severe symptoms according to new study, dr. Mike, what do you say about this, should we be concerned about the blood type impact here . Doctor i dont think this has any practical applicability to the general public because we have seen different results in different studies and some blood types do see higher risks and some lower risks theres no fullproof protection. I dont want someone who is blood type o, oh, i can walk around without a mask. This is for researchers to look into potential avenues for us to create treatments for covid19, nothing more. Maria all right, what do you make about these Hand Sanitizers and the dangers to some of them. The fda has banned 5 more sanitizers in the United States for using methanol as active ingredient. Fda is warning that ingesting this chemical could lead to death. This follows fda banning 9 other products for the same reason. Dr. Mike, what should we look for sanitizers and what are is best sanitizers and what to avoid . At least 60 alcohol based sanitizers but methanol is not acceptable use. Methanol can penetrate your skin and if you ingest it it can lead to nausea, vomiting, headaches, what you should look at for rubbing alcohol. These are acceptable forms of alcohol in Hand Sanitizers. This is a shame that companies are trying to cut corners. We have seen it with price gouging with masks and now addition with sub standard of methanol. These companies should really be punished. Maria thats terrible, thankfully the fda is out with their list on what to watch out for. I know we will see you in the show if we really need 10,000 steps a day to stay healthy. Thats what we have been told. We will talk about that later, mike, thank you so much. First, you might have seen him in first kid, now hes running for president. Joining us right now the former child act orbit coin entrepreneur brock pierce, great to have you this morning, thank you so much if being here. Tell us why youre running, whats your platform . Well, im running because im deeply concerned about the state of our nation right now. I feel we are very polarized, i feel this nation is very much divided and i think we need messages and i think we need leadership that can reunite us as a country, and thats the big part of it as i think theres an opportunity to deliver an Important Message for all of us to focus in on really basic principle, whats right, whats wrong, what are our values, what are are principles and as we decide what we stand for we have a foundation that will allow us to be less manipulative and find path Forward Together left and the right. Maria how are you going to deliver the message . What are the messages that need to resinate . Give us the focus of your campaign. Why should you be president . Well, im a Small Business entrepreneur making big things out of nothing and i think entrepreneurs built this nation and i think entrepreneurs and innovators are the ones that are going to get us out of our current situation. For example, most of my career has been in technology. I think theres no question that technology has affected all of our lives and its only going to continue to do so and you need to understand the tools of the 21st century. Maria i think theres a good point. Look at kanye west, how do you differentiate yourself from him, hes also an entrepreneur and feels there should be different messaging than what is out there right now . Kanye and i are clearly tapping into the same thing and really excited to see his his running as well. Hopefully collectively we can deliver a powerful message to the american at a time when we think we need it. Covid19 has brought us together around a shared issue in a way that i dont think weve ever been brought together before. Great time to be delivering a different message that will allow us to move forward. Maria let me bring in steve forbes, he too ran for president. Get to go more technical level, how are you going to get on the ballots of 50 states since many filing deadlines have passed, have you filed with the bureaucracy and grubby things like that and also are you prepared for the really intense examination of everything youve done in the past, everything youve done will be held against you. I can tell you from experience, are you prepared for that . [laughter] well, im definitely prepared for the scrutiny and understand that through this process that every mistake that ive made in my life will be deeply investigated, put under a magnifying glass but im an open book and im certainly prepared to answer any questions on any decisions and clearly ive made mistakes and ive got the battle scars to prover it and they give me determination. In terms of question of sec, we have filed and we will be in the majority of the ballots and thats immediate short of work that we have to do as deadlines continue to hit over the next dozen or so weeks. Maria brock, are you still dealing in crypto currency . Do you see crypto currency as the future for america . Brock well, i see Blockchain Technology as something that can positively impact the world and our nation specifically. The current aspect of that is tool that can deliver financial inclusion, an idea that we we could have ubiquitous and if we were going to redesign needs, likely include computer, cell phone, Internet Connection and basic financial tools. Onethird of the population today doesnt have basic services, limited access to Financial Services things like credit. The problem very much exists in our country today. Whenever youre driving around and you see Check Cashing stores, payday loans, large percentage of the population in the country that do not have the tools necessary for the pursuit of happiness. Other things and tenants of technology is transparency. Maria sure. This is a really important point and i know that youll be able to communicate that quite well. Brock, its great to see you, we will be watching your campaign, best wishes. Thank you, sir. Thank you. Maria brock pierce joining us there. Quick break, much more ahead. First a programming note. North Carolina Congressional candidate Madison Hawthorne will join us friday live as part of our panel. Dont miss it we will be at 7 00 a. M. Dagen how is the robot useful because anybody with half a head stops at the liquor store on the way to the hotel, so you already come with bottles in your suitcase, so i dont need anybody to deliver vino to my hotel room. Joining me is keith fitzgerald, Danielle Hughes and also here all morning, michael lee. Great to see you guys, thank you so much for being here. Lets get to the word on wall street. United airlines under pressure, the Company Warning employees in an sec filing of potential furlough as covid19 batters the travel industry, united also revealing how quarantine requirements in new york, new jersey and connecticut are hurting bookings. Keith, your reaction . I think this is a bad sign. This is a canary in the coal mine, reminds me of march all over of again. Its not just the travelers, its the personnel, the ground handlers, the catering. This has the potential to be a lot worse and really put a lug nut in the gears of recovery. Maria yeah. And then these stocks are down sharply and with no sign of any recovery there, with traffic still down sharply. Meanwhile, this. Federal reserve officials commenting on the coronavirus pandemic yesterday. A senior official said the covid19 crisis is not behind us. This, with fed vice cherry charred klarita weighing in, saying theres more the central bank can do to support the economy. Danny, whats your reaction . A lot of fed speech yesterday. Jay powell told us rates will be near zero until 2023. Thats right, maria. Great to see you. Its a big concern. The fed has said they have tons of tools at their disposal. I have to believe them, given the fact that trillions in stimulus has helped move the markets so far ahead. The recovery seems to be leveling off. The banks that were all tested last week came out okay and that was because of the crisis in 2008. But i think that theres more bankruptcies, theres more concerns in the future and so the fed has its eye on that and thats concerning the street. Maria anybody want to buy banks here ahead of the Bank Earnings next week . Ill go with one, maria. I think Interest Rates are too low. The yield curve is too maria im getting to you in a second. Michael lee, im getting to you in a second. You said you would buy the banks going into the week of earnings, right, keith . I did. I would. I would go with jp morgan, very selectively, and thats it. Maria okay. Because thats obviously the Leadership Company and they had obviously smooth sailing with the stress test as well. Wall street eyeing the 2020 race. A citigroup survey finds 62 of those polled expect former Vice President joe biden to win in november. Its a sharp change from the 70 that expected President Trump to win when polled back in december. How do you think wall street would react to biden winning, michael . Lets go through some of his ideas, Elizabeth Warren is apparently going be the key voice on the economy, she wants a wealth tax and higher taxes for everybody. Yeah. Maria, i think a biden presidency would be a disaster economically. I would say this last month or so has not been the best for the president. However, lets just go back four months to what wall street was thinking about Michael Bloomberg. Wall street was convinced Michael Bloomberg was going to be the next president. I think he spent a billion dollars to get five delegates. I think a lot of wall street lives in a bubble in the Financial Services world. I think if biden were to win, you would see the weaponization of every single government tool and administration to move forward with the radical left social justice agenda. So id say for the wealthy with what the fed has done, well continue to see the bifurcation of america into the haves and have notice. Not nots. Wall street will suffer. Maria sounds like you think wall street right now believes the policies of President Trump are going to stay in place because i dont think we would see record highs day after day for the nasdaq if the market truly believed that biden would win right now or maybe its just too soon to make such judgments. Yeah, well, i think what the fed has done, you know, during the Obama Administration, although you did not see any years of 3 gdp economic growth, wall street did very well. I think thats feddriven. At some point that will run out. You cant really fight the fed regardless of what were going to get from the next administration. Maria michael, were you saying you wanted to buy the banks going into the earnings next week . No, i dont. I think the yield curve is too compressed. I think we still dont know enough about loan loss, loan loss reserves. I hope they do well but i wouldnt put my hand in the fire right here. Maria and danny, youre agreeing with that notion . I am. And you know, theres a lot of handcuffs on banks right now just in terms of what theyre allowed to distribute in terms of dividends, wells fargo is probably likely going to cut their dividend. Some of the other ones are safe, goldman actually increasing some regulatory capital just so they could pay out in the Third Quarter. But lets watch the future. That doesnt bode well for investors. Maria keith, final word from you . I disagree. Respectfully at that. I think that jamie dimon really has his finger on the pulse and he will find a way of all the bank ceos to get this economy moving and that bank is going to play a Critical Role in that even if weve got some selling of to come in the future. Maria all right. Well, well talk more about earnings. Its just kicking off next week. Weve got a lot of time for that and we will get back to it. Great to see all of you. Keith fitzgerald, Danielle Hughes, michael, stay with us. Well take a break. Much more ahead. Coming up this hour, Rudy Giuliani is here to talk about the recent spikes in crime across the country, what are the solutions. Newly announced 2020 hopeful kanye west says he is in it to win it. Once a staunch supporter of President Trump, west told Forbes Magazine hes taking off his red maga hat, running under the banner called the Birthday Party because when he wins its everybodys birthday. The rapper saying i would run as a republican if trump wasnt there. I will run as an independent if trump is there. West who admits to never voting says he has already picked wyoming preacher michelle ti d b a ll as his tid ball as his running mate. The interview is in Forbes Magazine. Its a must read. Lets get to steve forbes and hear more about it. Steve. Steve well, it was a four hour interview with our chief content officer, randall lane last night. We just posted it a few hours ago. And he covered everything, one thing he didnt get into was the tax policy but he hit the Democrat Party for being really holding down blacks. He hit planned parenthood, said its a White Supremacy plot to hurt black birth rates. He was covering you find it on forbes. Com. He was covering everything. When asked about getting on the ballots, since many of the deadlines have already passed, he said he thinks the Coronavirus Crisis can be used as a lever of getting on the ballot, saying, hey, we couldnt have collected petitions anyway so let me on. So its going to be very interesting. He seems intent on doing it and he said he would run as a republican if trump dropped out but hes going to do it as an independent. Hes not satisfied with either party. He certainly took a hard hit at joe biden for what joe biden said, if you dont vote for joe biden, youre not black. And thats going to hurt biden, that kind of attitude. Maria yeah, lets talk about that. Because the quote in the piece, heres what he says. A lot of times just like Political Parties they feel all blacks have to be democrat. This man, joe biden, said if you dont vote for me then you are not black. Well, act like we didnt hear that. I just gracefully suggest you all bow out, trump and biden gracefully bow out. I am in service of our lord and savior jesus christ and i put everything on the line to serve god. Its interesting, dagen, because he did so much to help donald trump and now here he is remember all the pictures of he and his wife, Kim Kardashian in the white house, around Prison Reform and here he is telling trump to bow out. Dagen i can never guess what kanye is thinking or doing but i like the fact that hes running simply because i can say that i saw in concert a president ial candidate. [ laughter ] dagen i actually saw maria when did you go to his concert. Dagen i went to a concert with one of our producer years ago. We saw lupe fiasco with kanye being the headliner. Allin, let them fight it out. Maybe kanye will bring interesting ideas to the table, above and beyond. I think its interesting that kanye talked to forbes, mr. Forbes, because theres been a spat over kiley jenner not being a billionaire and that was on forbes. So hes not owe posed to talk opposed to talking to your publication. Maria you know what i think steve i think thats good. Maria yeah. I mean, for so long, the Africanamerican Community was really benefiting from President Trumps policies. Remember before this pandemic, you were talking about record unemployment lows for the Africanamerican Community. Is kanye resonating with that community or do you think theres still support in that community, steve forbes, for President Trump . Steve i think its going to depend on what happens in the next few months, particularly with the economy. If that moves in the right direction and President Trump sticks to the themes that he outlined in that speech in south dakota on saturday, before mount rushmore, not get sidetracked on these tweet fights, yes, i think he could get above average support which would help him in wisconsin, michigan, and several other states. Dagen privately, republicans are worried about losing the senate. Privately, a lot of republicans are worried about losing the senate if he keeps up this picking fight unnecessary fights and gave a terrific speech at mount rushmore, then went after Bubba Wallace in what was an appalling and untrue tweet. Maria he definitely made a very good speech at mount rushmore. I think that the patriotism element will be an element going into the election. So if he sticks to that, i agree with you. Because that speech resonated with most people. Coming up, cinema complaint, theater chains are suing new jersey amid restrictions over coronavirus, were going to get into it when we come right back. My name is janelle hendrickson, and im an area manager here at amazon. When you walk into an amazon fulfillment center, its like walking into the Chocolate Factory and you won a golden ticket. He screams, mommys work when the pandemic started, we started shipping out all the safety stuff that would keep the associates safe to all the other amazons. All of these are face masks, weve sent well over 10 million gloves. And this may look like a bottle of vodka. A group of major Movie Theaters taking the state of new jersey to court on what it calls unconstitutional closures due to the coronavirus. Chains include amc and regal, claiming a First Amendment right to reopen. Theaters are part of new jerseys phase three reopening which has yet to start. Joining us right now is senior judicial analyst judge andrew napolitano. This is an interesting case, judge. Whats your take . Well, its a very good morning, maria. Nice to see you. Its a very interesting case. Its the first case in the nation in which a group of theaters, these are publicly these theaters are owned by publicly traded corporations, have banded together. This includes almost every theater in new jersey. Their argument is simply this. If you allow churches to open and shopping malls to open and walmart to open, as long as they maintain social distancing and wear masks, by not allowing the theaters to open of you are discriminating against the theaters and the theaters, because they exist in a Communications Industry have a First Amendment right of to communicate the visual images on the screen. They also point out something very interesting which is i dont even know this even though i live in new jersey. Theaters are rented out to Church Groups in new jersey. Under governor murphys executive order which this litigation challenges, a theater could be used for a church on a sunday morning, but not for a movie on sunday afternoon. Now, that is absolutely a discrimination which is without a rational basis. Maria yeah. And it seems like the kind of thing that youll see more lawsuits because you can make this case in any number of situations. Yes. I think their goal is to get some sort of an accommodation from the governor. The case has been assigned to a federal judge in newark who will probably proceed rapidly on it but i would think that the governor does not want to lose this case and he will lose if it does go to court. I think he would prefer some sort of a negotiation and accommodation and thats probably whats going to happen. Maria let me move on to something that i know our audience wants more info on. Jeffrey epstein, the confidant, ghislaine maxwell, will have her bail hearing and arraignment later this week. Judge, your take on this, where is this going . Well, she did the right thing which is to hire a former superstar from the office that is prosecuting her. If anybody can negotiate a deal for her, he can do that. He spent 10 years in that office. At the time he left, he was at the top of his game and was receiving the most coveted assignments like el chapo. I would think he knows what he can do. I characterized her as the living the living little black book. She knows everything that the government wants to know, whether its about Prince Andrew or anybody else who was alleged to have been involved with epstein. I would imagine that later on today hes going to sit down with his former colleagues who are prosecuting her and say let me tell you what we can give you and you tell me what you can give us. Shes facing 35 years in jail. The evidence of her guilt is substantial. Whatever kind of a deal he can cut for her, that substantially reduces that exposure, will be exactly what she hired him to do. But that will bring other people, like perhaps Prince Andrew. I dont mean to pick on him. Hes just the best known of these others that were allegedly involved and of course he denies it. That will bring other people into this picture, into this criminal case which just keeps expanding. Maria yeah, well see if she, quote, unquote, commits suicide, judge. Hmm. Maria well be watching. You have interviewed because i was you have interviewed dr. Michael bodden who was convinced that Jeffrey Epstein did not commit suicide, that he was murdered. Maria thats exactly right. Good to see you this morning, thank you, sir. We have a big hour coming up. Former new york city mayor Rudy Giuliani on the other side of this break to talk about the surge in crime nationwide. Weve been down, up, and were mixed again. The dow futures right now down 7 points, nasdaq futures are up 33, and the s p futures right now up just about 1 andahalf points. A little uneasiness as investors eye coronavirus spikes across the country and rising tensions with china. This follows a selloff yesterday, which ended the nasdaqs threeday streak of record highs. Check Global Markets this morning, in europe it is red across the board. Take a look, there is concern growing that the European Union cannot unite on a plan, hungarys Prime Minister says the eu is unlikely to agree on a Stimulus Program at next weeks summit. The fq1 liste100 down 14, dax d. Asia overnight markets were mixed. China continues to run, the shanghai composite extending the winning streak to seven days. New york state finding Deutsche Bank for his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein. Cheryl casone with those details. What a story this is. Cheryl Deutsche Bank is going to pay 150 million for not properly monitoring the activity in epsteins bank account, despite what the department of Financial Services calls ample information the bank had about the circumstances of epsteins earlier criminal misconduct. The Department Says Deutsche Bank missed hundreds of transactions which included payments to russian models, payments to people identified as coconsistent poo spicoconspiro cover womens school tuition, hotel and rent expenses. Deutsche bank as you can see right now in the premarket is trading up almost 1 . And those are your headlines from the newsroom, maria. Back over to you. Maria all right, cheryl, thank you so much. We are looking at spikes in crime, crime surging in america cities right now. New york city reporting a violent 4th of july weekend, 44 shootings just this weekend and 11 homicides. For the month of june, new york city experienced more than 200 shootings compared to less than 90 one year earlier. That is a 130 increase year over year. Mayor de blasio is blaming the rise in crime on coronavirus. Joining me right now is the perform new york city mayor, Rudy Giuliani. Mr. Mayor, its always a pleasure to see you. Thank you so much for being here. How does de blasio get away with blaming this on the coronavirus when we know the entire bail reform was changed and youve got criminals being processed and then sent back on the streets . Isnt that part of it . Well, i know coronavirus is a very dangerous virus but i never heard it committed homicide. Doesnt shoot a gun. Those 8,000 people he released from jail and the 10 or 12,000 who were put back out on the street, unprecedented. Never happened before in new york city. Maybe the reason he took hes basically taken what was given to him to save his large city in america and now were challenging chicago as a killing field. Its a tragedy. The man is a disgrace. And the governor is way past the time he should have removed him. I mean, this is not this is not even debate albany longer. People are debateable any longer. People are dying because of his incompetence. You can go back to the coronavirus where he made absurd decisions. We could talk about this, which hes been eroding the Police Department for years. Now he did away with the three most important things that reduced crime for me and eventually for bloomberg. One, the com stat program has been gutted by the way he streets commanders. Doesnt listen to them. Number two, he has done away with the broken windows theory which he thought he was smart enough, smarter than wilson and kelly and the thousands of places that have used it to reduce crime. And he wasnt. And number three, hes completely lost the confidence of the police. They dont trust him. So Police Officers im not saying they do this but im going to guess that maybe they do. They delay a little longer going to difficult scenes because they dont want to get in the middle of a problem because hes going to kill them. I mean, hes going to take their job away and try to put them in jail. Its a disgrace, maria. And maria theres also the other cities with democrat mayors go ahead. Maria no, no, please, you go ahead. Youre right, the democratled cities are seeing the same thing. Yeah. I mean, chicagos been there for years and chicago still has more murders and more shootings by a lot per capita than we do. Chicago is completely off the charts. Its just ridiculous. They have a mayor who really doesnt know what shes doing. I mean, shes unbelievable. Then we can go to atlanta where the mayor is pretty good. But atlantas outofcontrol. Another democrat mayor. I dont know, maybe that has a chance because that woman shows some kind of leadership. Philadelphia, cleveland, all democrat cities have this gigantic crime wave going on. There was coronavirus in other places where republicans are governing. Somehow republicans know how to prevent coronavirus from murdering people. Maria unbelievable. And youve also got dont forget San Francisco where its not just crime but its also homelessness all over the place. I want to ask you about the protesters. The protesting amid coronavirus, last month new york city hired 1,000 contact tracer workers to help monitor the supposed coronavirus. They are monitor the spread of coronavirus. Theyre not asking people who tested positive for coronavirus if they participated in protests in new york city. In other words, they dont even want to know when theyre tracing where have you been, who have you been with, they do not ask have you been on a protest line. And this maria rear not allowed to ask, did you get coronavirus as a result of protesting, i guess. I mean, were not allowed to ask. This is the Democrat Party thats dedicated to follow the science, follow the science. You follow the science and you trace every one of those people. In fact, the biggest single event that could be responsible for the spike are the thousands of and thousands of people that marched together in many, many cities all over the country, spitting in each others faces when they were yelling and screaming. As they went along, the masks started to come off. The last two that i saw couldnt be more than about 20 had masks on. So how could that not have contributed to the coronavirus if were told we cant go near somebody, one person. But they can go near hundreds of people . I mean, its a big lie. It shows that there are a bunch of phonies and the whole thing is a political game for them. Its a political game. If they were interested in saving lives, they would treat the people in the protests the same way as everyone else. But theyre not interested in saving lives. Maria were supposed to be politically correct, i guess. I guess its politically correct to say oh, no, its not no problem with the protests. Scientifically wrong, though. Maria i mean, its the antiscience. Maria george floyd died on ma. On may 26 i said okay, theres all these protesters in the street, lets wait for the inoculation period in two weeks and see what happens. It was three weeks before we saw spikes. I mean, its so obvious what has taken place. Youre seeing 35yearolds get covid19. No kidding. Look at what has just taken place in terms of the protesting and in the face of this, mayor, youve got the Defunding Police movement, right. Democratic this is you have to tell me what youre thinking about this. Democratic congresswoman, the squad members, Rashida Tlaib and eyandismthe act would clash fl funds for local Police Departments and put money towards healthcare, education and housing. Your thoughts on this, because ilan omar had a whopper of a comment on this. Whats your thought on whats coming out of these congress womens policy playbook here. These congresswomen want to undermine the United States of america. Its been their plan from the beginning. Black lives matter is an organization with a plan that americans dont read. Their plan is to overthrow our government and replace it with a socialist government in which reparations are done, in which we are going to theyre going to discourage the nuclear family, theyre going to have abortions for everyone, black people will get salary for the rest of their life and not have to work, white people will not. I mean, you just go read those things. And the leader, ms. Kolars is a self avowed trained marxist, their goal is to overthrow our government as we know it and i think this has to be on the ballot in the sense that joe biden hasnt stood up against black lives matter. Joe biden hasnt said anything about this violence. Hes asleep. I think this becomes a campaign, you want to preserve america, you vote for trump. You want to live the way new york and chicago and the autonomous zone were living, vote for him. Maria yeah. So its the breathe act. Ilan omar gave a speech. She says we must begin the work of dismantling the whole system of o oppression. Shes calling for the dismantling of the American Economy and political systems. Before you go, solutions, give me one or two things the mayors need to do right away. Well, the mayors need to hire more police. They need to tell the police theyre going to back them and support them. And theyre not going to roll over every time black lives matter makes a phony claim of police brutality. Floyd was a legitimate claim. Whats going on in atlanta in the other case is a completely phony claim. That Police Officer was totally justified in shooting a person who was shooting at him. And the mayor should stand up for that Police Officer. You have to back your Police Officers when they are being falsely accused and most often theyre falsely accused because criminals put in complaints to try to get off from the crimes theyre committing. And youve got to know that as a mayor, if you want to save real people. We saved when i was mayor, and bloomberg, more black lives than any mayor or group of mayors in the history of the United States, ever. Thousand, thousands. Theyre getting black People Killed out of negligence. Maria what a sad state of affairs to look at really a sad state of affairs to look at new york city today. So many years after its a tragedy, its a tragedy. Maria Rudy Giuliani its a tragedy. Thank you for being here. Well see you soon. Great job, maria. Maria mayor Rudy Giuliani joining us. Thank you so much. North Carolina Congressional candidate madison kawthorn will be here friday live on the panel. Dont miss that. Youre watching mornings with maria live on fox business. Millions of products have been shipped, now speatin competing h Industry Leaders like purell. Joining us now is the ceo of soap box soaps, david simnik and danielle dahl. Thank you for joining us. David, tell us about the companys tremendous growth. What do you think is behind it . Absolutely. First and foremost, thank you for having us on the show. A lot has gone into how the brand has taken off in such a dramatic way. We have been in the industry for 10 years and weve broken bread and had many cups of coffee with all these different buyers. When the crisis hit, we had all the relationships that were built on trust. There were a lot of people who entered into the Hand Sanitizer business but we already had the relationships. Through the cunning skill of dan who is in charge of our operations department, we were able to scale in an unprecedented way. We went from one factory to seven and just overnight throughout the United States turned on manufacturing everywhere. Maria you know, its just incredible because now the need is so strong. Daniel, you also have a Mission Behind this brand which is also something that gravitates people toward the brand. Tell me about the mission. Absolutely. Thank you, maria. Every time we sell a product we donate a bar of soap to people in need. Thats been our mission from the core, when we started the company in 2010. It was always bar for bar. So this year well be donating almost 10 million bars of soap to people in need all around the world. A huge portion of the bars this year are going domestically to help stop the spread of coronavirus. The cdc recommends washing your hand with soap is the first line of defense to stopping the spread of the disease. Maria so where are you seeing the most interest in terms of sales right now . What are people gravitating toward . You know, its really fascinating. Our company was in about three different verticals prior to covid and now were in seven. So were shipping to medical distributors, were shipping to food service. Weve expanded into further expanding into hospitality, our ecommerce partners. Dagen, what do you think . Dagen yes, but you dont make revenue on those, that booze, because you get those drinks in comfort and first for free. But let me just raise an issue so you can take a shot at me. How do you drink if your put your mask on, how do you i guess you could do this. You put a straw in your glass of wine like that. And drink. Again, got to keep your mask on or somebody will end up yelling at you. Maria who wants to drink wine from a straw . Dagen lets not get into that. We only have an hour and five minutes left in the show. I have a whole dissertation i could deliver on the benefits of drinking booze through a straw. But ma any way. Maria another sports team name may change, now its the Cleveland Indians considering this move. Of. Additionally National Security adviser robert brien National Economic director larry kudlow calling on u. S. Railroad retirement borrowed divest. Lee zeldain pressure to see you zeldin, thank you for joining us assess the threat for us. Of the threat is huge this is something that started before the coronavirus pandemic hit our country. Obviously, china has been much more in the news, we a desperately relied on china for personal are protective equipment we rely on them for other countries around the world, for ventilators medicines, so part of that supply chain discussion is one that you find the average american engaging in now. But what we saw, whether it is social media like company like tiktok, launched an investigation last november, after they tried to musical we also, seen it with the race for 5g huawei, ability with that infrastructure, to be able to collect are personal communications of individuals the theft that takes place, of u. S. , patents, and intellectual property that list goes much further, and this has been one that congress has been engaged in for years he, that our country has had huge amount of tension, with china, on, but it is really just been over the course of the last several months that you are seeing much more of the average american start to engage, because it very personally impacted their lives due to what happened atset of this pandemic. I thinks extraordinary this is a situation where theft is actually a strategy. For the communist party that is how they believe, they will grow, to become the number one superpower stealing intellectual property largely from west military data medicine data trying to get covid19 vaccine before us stealing information then filing a patent based on information they just stole, the question really is what do we do about it is this enough in terms of the president saying dont invest in companies, that are Building Military equipment in china, and move the supply chain is there anything else we can do to stop the theft . The theyve already chris wray told us most adult americans have already had informing stolen. Yes, so for one, as relate to are, for example, the he pension investments, that is that is not just an act as far as the United States and china and leverage over the country of china, but it is also about protecting those pensions themselves because if United States takes action that can adversely impact those companies, you dont want to see americans harmed. I mentioned army the investigation tiktok controlled censor to do buy ccp collecting, information, one of the tactics used by china with regards to cybersecurity effort is looking at individual social media accounts to choose, who has connections to government who a to target, we can stop that activity with tiktok. A list is long. Isnt it interesting strategy what xi jinping has come up with with while president is is pushing these Retirement Funds, whether the thrift if you have anied Railroad Retirement to stop investing in Chinese Companies xi jinping rallying company to buy stocks so you see a huge rally in china, then servers can say well wait a second telling us not to buy stocks look at a rally he is interest strategic xi jinping interesting to see what he did this last week by telling the crunch buy stocks we need a bull market exactly what happened millions of chinese opened accounts, let me ask you about defunding the police amid crime surge terrible numbers congressman new york city seeing shootings up 130 in june compared to 2019, after moving to cut more than a billion dollars from nypd budget i spoke with former mayor Rudy Giuliani last bhour up tick he in crime. Now challenging chicago as a killing field, it is a tragedy the man is a disgrace, and the governor is way past the time he should have removed him this is not this is not even debatable any longer, people are dying because of his incompetence. Congressman i know you also took to twitter last night to call out de blasio you wrote this mayor de blasio is straying our great city from the insideout new york will not make it rue his term he needs to immediately be removed from office to protect state and people who live there smallest electorate to vote for the mayor de blasio what will turn it around if public keeps voting for him people like him in terms of leadership position . As to of for one, new york city is not going to be able to make it through the rest of the de blasio term as you he pointing out he has to be removed i agree with mayor, and it is about public safety, we see it with policies, on defunding the police, to the cashless bail launched earlier this year something that in many respects, albany was directly involved in as well, what is ironic about blair deblahs yoo pandering to radical left when he stands in front of them they are bioing him what are you doing this for, are why dont you just stand with our Law Enforcement, stand with you know for rule of law for safety, security, because there are a lot of people who live in new york city love the city want to see it flourish prosper about improving our education, providing more opportunity, on the economic front, you know, you have a point where new york city if you work paying essential second highest income rate in entire country next to california so many fronts mayor de blasio has the city going in the wrong direction. Yeah i mean but shootings are going on, do you think there is going to be a more moderate person can win in new york . At a yeah, absolutely. This is feels a lot like when david incidentkins was finishing his determine moving to Rudy Giuliani coming into office right now i believe new yorkers are desperate not based on republican democrat, they are looking fore a person to lead the city to be better Stronger Public safety to address these concerns. Congressman very concerning, good to see you this morning get your insights, thank you, sir. Always good to see you. Maria welcome back, new york City Reopening mayor de blasio announcing Child Care Centers could open next week in phase three of getting back to business, the pandemic hitting new york City Real Estate hard, the Second Quarter seeing a steep decline, in commercial property sales could hit city tax collections, joining me right now Peoples Corporation founder chairman ceo peebles assess situation in new york we spoke with mayor Rudy Giuliani went through crime situation it is a sad story what can you can you tell us about real estate . What happened maria. Is prior to this pandemic, new york was struggling in terms of reindustry, people were leaving the city high income leaving fleeing to florida more tax friend bigs friendly better quality of live new york city quality of life diminishing past six years or so quality of life diminished as a result people left the pandemic is now accelerated that companies have been looking at new york city questioning why they continue to operate there because of the fact that the Business Environment is so antibusiness, so as a result, youve seen businesses leave area go to supbelt state other states around the country more business friendly what is happening you are seeing acceleration. Youve got, businesses all over the country, florida you are seeing people come into florida, in some cases. Crime surging in largest city new york city violent 4th of july weekend 44 shootings 11 homicides for june city experienced over 200 shooting compared to less than 90 one year earlier have you ever seen anything like this . Is not in if a very long time in fact when i saw weekend statistics i thought i was looking at one of the Second Quarter stits i couldnt believe that was just one weekend of activity, clearly what is happening again, is people are being frustrated because being quarantined, two, weve got economic crisis, three a real absence of leadership in terms of what are essential services got ought to provide new yorkers krbd to this, of course, other reforms if um that have lent itself to acceleration, of criminal activity. Have don let me ask you this, we had ben carson on a couple weeks ago he said we dont need he commercial real estate anymore in big cities people want to work from home he said maybe we can use some of that re, for lowIncome Housing, do you think we are going to see a transition, in new york, where, you know, big buildings used to be for big business, maybe now there will be low Income Housing . Well, look i mean there is one school of thought if you look at detroit 1950s the city of two Million People now a city of 600,000 people decimated as well, new york greatest city in the country, and one of the greatest cities in the world, as a result of that resilient, very powerful and innovative industry Financial Services industry i dont think you are going to see people back up offices i think there is going to be a change in how people work there is also going to be a change in terms of how Companies Account now people dont have to live close to where they work, so, whole country is a place where you can attract talent going to see much greater increase in you know, about working. Will. Quick before you go don you are a democrat a businessman, you are a moderate. Will you run for mayor of new york . I inlike the person that you heard, had on early i am not sure a moderate can win in new york city look i am focused on, navigating my business leading my business through this great crisestive in cities i am going to focus energy there right now see where politics go later. Go on amc theatres nearing a restruct you are to go avoid filing for bankruptcy according to the wall street journal, the deal would require bondholders provide a senior loan 200 Million Dollars o postponed opening until july 30 your reaction. This is a really risky deal, even if we get the other side, coronavirus and everything normalizes they are in structural decline because viewing experience continues to improve, as well as content competition from likes of Netflix Streaming services i think this is risky. Dagen what do you think. Dagen i think that mainly movie theatre chains part of group including amc Regal Cinemark had to sue the governor of new jersey about reopening saying churches shopping malls can reopen state continues to bar sin north americas from resuming operations again not a levelplaying field, if you can go to church and wear mask keep distance i know not same thing freedom religion i understand that you should certainly be able to go to a a movie theatre sound quality better and so are snacks than anything useful got in your house. That is true steve what do you think. If you dont mind spending a lot of money paying three times as much for popcorn as you should it is a great experience. He they are in secular decline i think will have a revival but amc others done in by the Coronavirus Crisis, enhanced what was happening theatres of come back Television Nearly destroyed them after the world war ii they came back people liked experience going out the whole deal, journal said nearly complete you still have fights among creditors about who gets what puts in how much things like that has first lien second lien all that kind of stuff sooner they can get it done more they can create an experience where people like me dinosaurs that we are are will go and pay 20 for popcorn. Maybe when we get out of this we will want to go out even more, so there is that. Lets take a break when we come back we are going to talk with acting department Homeland Security secretary chad wolf a lot to talk about with secretary, including increasing crime across our country and combating china that is coming up next chad wolf live then wine woes issues industry is seeing as tariffs loom taking a look when we come right back. Maria all right cheryl, thank you, weve been talking about the crime across the country this morning, crime is on the rise, cities across the country have seen, dramatic spikes in Violent Crimes shootings, deaths, the Trump Administration, announcing it is ready to help cities tackle this growing epidemic, joining me right now acting secretary of Homeland Security what had wolf secretary great to have you this morning thanks very much for joining us. Thanks for having me. The numbers are dreadful number of shootings incredibly violent july 4th weekend new york city is one should states cities be reaching out to federal government for help, in terms of these spikes to in crimes . Absolutely. The president has been very clear about that, that lockets states if they need oxygens should call federal government i think what were swleeg atlanta chicago, new york is a direct effect on what we talk about when we talk about Defunding Police or Law Enforcement, attacking Law Enforcement politicizing what Law Enforcement does criminals are really taking notice of this, criminalize at core are violent opportunists seeing that opportunity to take advantage do violent act across country i think having a direct effect the comments about again Defunding Police, and really attacking Law Enforcement, this is the result of that, and weve got to be very, very careful about that. Well unfortunately, not just comments, new york city did in fact mayor de blasio take a billion dollars, out of the nypd who is going to bring law and order back to this country. You are right new york we also saw portland vote to defund i believe 15 million from their Police Department as well, the president has been clear at core of this, though this is a both a local, and state responsibility when their ability they can no longer protect cities they need to call federal government but they have to request that what with wean in georgia gd kemp called out National Guard to parts of at landa right step we need other governors to follow if they dont want to i got through National Guard we can provide civil Law Enforcement they have to ask for it that is how law works President Trump very clear that if they ask we will respond. When you look at some of the democratic run cities mayor giuliani was just with us named a number of cities that are run by democrat mayors, are i dont know if sanctuary city policies but why are all democratic run cities are going off the rails right now are these policies, killing our cities . Absolutely. And i think, the core of this is a lot of those mayors individual leaders running those big city metropolitan areas are playing politics when sanctuary tee policies or attacking Law Enforcement they are doing or that for politics. It is having a very, very dote mental effect we are seeing we are seeing a rise in a number of Violent Crimes in cities, a direct effect of that criminals taking notice ins what is going on and, again, at the core, violent opportunists taking this opportunity, to, again, do what they do every day, in a very criminal way. If that is the case playing politics, the American People should be outraged voting these people out, that is the number one job that any official has keep the citizens safe. Let me ask you about new guidelines from the immigration and do you means he enforcement force International Students leave United States if school only offers only classes we are learn whattinged harvard it suing he department of Homeland Security ice over this secretary wolf reaction . Sure what we did wanted to make sure as went into the fall session, that, about students, and universities understood rules of the road what i think they dont understand is right now under the regulation, International Students can only take one only class, we have amended that we told them, as much. We are going to move of that up to three only classes giving them more flexibility, but at the core of this is they want students, to still come here to the u. S. Take a hundred degreed percent on line presence required in u. S. Why you get visa if take one hundred percent Classes Online your pressens isnt required in u. S. To do that schools need to think hard again our change, providing them more flexibility, right now they can only take one class online, we are giving them the opportunity to take up to three classes on line. Well, look this brings me to the threat posed by Chinese Communist party, of course, yesterday another speech from fbi drsh are director Christopher Wray talking about chinese theft of intellectual property, information among the largest transfers of wealth in Human History a month after a harvard professor was dietindicted over criminal ties to china i know there is a massive Espionage Campaign going on, is it largely the Chinese Communist government sending researchers in to this country to work, get jobs at universities so they can send info back . How are they doing this . This absolutely, maria i think all the above, i agree with director wrays comments when we look at china we know they have a number of bad behaviors activities across the spectrum, whether National Security, economic security, is what they are after they play long game we have other nation state threats whether russia iran, china playing long game weve got to be about very, very concerned about that we talk about at department, Foreign Investment into u. S. China is actively doing we take measures against that, or whether they are using our immigration system and visa system, whether coming over agency he researchers, as students. Many then sending that information back to the president as you know last month took action regarding Chinese Students with ties to the prc making sure they dont do that graduate Level Research study sending back for military purposes, the department has taken action chinese media, making sure they check with department we know who they are where they are, we are with able to vet them the department and administration, we are taking concrete actions, to to really tamp down on what we see a lot of espionage by Chinese Government a variety of different sectors. , by the way, no different than what they do to us, i went to china, 15 years ago, and i had to travel the country with a minder, called him a minder followed me around everywhere, he wanted to know exactly what we were covering what we were doing, so their much more diligent about doing this now u. S. Is doing basically what china has been doing. Let me ask you, about the threat in terms of go ahead what you want to Say Something secretary . You are absolutely right. I think what we see china using is our open society our Democratic Society and understanding our laws what they can get away with what they cant i think this mingleslike are previous administrations perhaps admired the problem we are taking definitive action to tamp down on what china is doing with students researchers, and stealing that intellectual property calling them out on it again taking that action. Let me switch gears did about daca Trump Administration is expected to file new executive order apodaca sometime this week Supreme Court recently blocking the move to end daca program what are you expecting here secretary . Yeah, well, two things i would say, about the daca, decision from the Supreme Court, one, none of the justices said that the program was lawful i think very is very, very concerning. We know that it is unlawful program the president has been very clear finding a lasting solution for this population. But we will not continue to operate an unlawful program two court said department had every right, to rescind the program they didnt like rationale how we did it we are taking a look at opinion we have done thatdrawing up paperwork should president be ready to end the daca program we will be ready to do that. Good to have you this morning thank you so much for joining uss. Okay. Thank you. Secretary chad wolf there coming up wine woes the industry seeing as tariffs loom stepbystep 10,000 steps a day we have heard best for health but that number may be a myth you are watching mornings with maria live on fox business. Maria well, wine woes industry taking a major hit due to decline, in restaurant purchases now tariffs could so everybody up more setbacks, Kristina Partsinevelos joins is live from a winery on long island. Maria, although it may feel like irdrinking a lot more wine at home, due to the pandemic and lockdown that boost in sales still not enough to offset the dramatic decline, in in purchases from bars and restaurants, vineyard in long island you can see a worker taking sauvignon a winery multifamily estate said a drop in seams because he primarily sells to restaurants in long island and new york city, are now bigger trend iwfr, affirmed globe alcohol sales you culmination 2020 will plunge more than 10 , meaning the Wine Industry he could potentially lose six billion dollars, almost six billion dollars in 2020, talking about 2019 we have seen first decline in wine sales in almost 25 years. We could face sticker shock as well white house put in to increase tariffs from 25 to one hundred percent on european imported wine one wine with importer about what that would mean for prices in america. This is going to have to be paid cost is going back to the consumer eventually whether higher prices acquisition comforts by restaurants, or retail establishments eventually the consumer will feel brunt. Are importers reeling from added cost could be a benefit for domestic producers americans are drinkers here wine could stist to the vip yards where i am made in america might be good for the industry but wait and see the wine vines growing wipe keeps flowing back to you.
