RALEIGH — Cumberland County has a new $1 million lottery winner, a news release from the North Carolina Education Lottery announced Wednesday.
Artina Siler, of Fayetteville, purchased the winning $30 Millionaire Maker ticket from 365 Fast Mart on North Reilly Road in Fayetteville.
There are 30 Millionaire Maker tickets with the $1 million prize, and Siler is the 12th person to win the ticket's highest prize, according to the news release.
She claimed her prize Tuesday at lottery headquarters in Raleigh.
Siler had the option of taking the $1 million as an annuity of $50,000 a year for 20 years, or a lump sum of $600,000.
She chose the lump sum of $600,000 and took home $424,509 after required federal and state tax withholdings, according to the news release.
