Just hours after Caleb Michael Whisnand, 32, and the baby’s mother pleaded publicly for the baby’s safe return, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Wednesday night announced the arrest in the death of the five-week-old.
Sheriff’s Capt. Leigh Persky said Whisnand is being held in C.J.’s death on $100,000 bond in the Montgomery County Detention Center. The arrest came after a Wednesday afternoon press conference where Whisnand and the boy’s mother, 28-year-old Angela Nicole Gardner, made a plea for their son’s safe return. Authorities said the baby’s remains were found shortly after the press conference.
