Around 80 people attended a vigil for three beloved members of the Florida A&M University FAMUly Thursday evening at the eternal flame.
Erected at the center of the HBCU's campus to commemorate its recognition as the 1997-1998 College of Year by Time Magazine under former university president Frederick Humphries, the location was appropriate for the vigil held to honor the icon who recently passed away at age 85.
In addition to Humphries, former Student Government Association President and Board of Trustees member Jaylen Smith and longtime FAMU employee Cornelia Henry – who both died recently – were remembered during the vigil.
