Ocala police say it is miracle no one was hurt when bullets started flying inside an apartment where a mother and her five children were sleeping.Authorities were called to the Sutton Place Apartments Tuesday around 2 a.m.According to officials, the woman was sleeping in bed with two of her youngest children when she heard pounding on her bedroom window and talking. The incident report said she was petrified and lay flat on her bed. It goes on to say the woman then heard what she thought was something being thrown through the window.When police arrived, they discovered shots were fired through the windows, leaving four bullet holes.Officials say two bullets came through the mother's window and two more came through a window where one child was sleeping by herself, with one going through walls and landing in a third bedroom. The bullet was found on the floor along the wall of the girl's closet.Ocala police are searching for answers on who shot at the home and why. On Monday, there was a gathering at the apartment complex to honor the life of 14-year-old Chris Chevelon who was shot at killed in the parking lot of the complex last December. Police do not know if there is a connection however one of the 14-year-old's friends used to live in the same apartment building where the mother and her five children currently live.
