Family and friends of a teenager who was shot and killed in Pittsburgh's Knoxville neighborhood on April 18 came together on Saturday to honor his memory.Paul Hines, 19, was attending a party in the 200-block of Moore Avenue when he was shot."We're hanging in there for the most part, but it's still kind of rough," said Onneshia Moore, Hines' cousin. His family described him as loving, caring and a family person, and said he was dedicated to his music and sports."Anything he came up with in his mind he achieved," said Monroe. "Any goal, no matter what it was. Whenever he said he was going to do something he did it and completed it."That includes on the playing field, according to his former coach, John Parker, Sr. "We lost a great child. He was a good child," said Parker. "He cared for everyone he was around. He helped them out if he could. Even when he stopped playing for the South Side Bears he came back down here and was helping the kids a little bit."Saturday's vigil was at Quarry Field in Pittsburgh's South Side neighborhood, a field Hines used to play football on. Family and friends lit candles, shared stories about the teenager and released orange and blue balloons into the sky."I've been doing this sports thing for over 25 years, so I've lost quite a few of my players to gun violence, but this one, it just stung a little bit harder because I knew where he was doing and I knew what he was trying to get out of," said Parker.Pittsburgh police are investigating the homicide. So far, no suspect has been identified.
