Washtenaw County Sheriff Jerry Clayton says the Washtenaw County Jail has a Òcritical staffing shortage.Ó The nearly 100-employee, 400-inmate jail at 2201 Hogback in Pittsfield Township averages between eight and 10 vacancies on any given day, there are currently about 23 unfilled positions, Clayton said.
