Washtenaw County Sheriff Jerry Clayton says the Washtenaw County Jail has a Òcritical staffing shortage.Ó The nearly 100-employee, 400-inmate jail at 2201 Hogback in Pittsfield Township averages between eight and 10 vacancies on any given day, there are currently about 23 unfilled positions, Clayton said. AUGUSTA COUNTY, Va. (WVIR) - In Augusta County, thereâs a new program in the works that aims to keep people out of jail by helping them reroute their lives. Itâs called the LEAD program, which stands for Law Enforcement Assisted Diversion.
LEAD was discussed at length Tuesday night during a webinar which also served as a call to action.
Augusta County prosecutors and law enforcement are at the front of the new initiative, but the key is building critical collaborations. ....
