Good evening to you.
As people look ahead to how we’re going to navigate the post-pandemic world, it’s not clear if we’ll be doing it with a vaccine passport in hand. Today, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau made it clear he’s pretty cool on the idea of having people prove they’ve been vaccinated, suggesting it could unfairly impact some who may not be able to get vaccinated because of medical conditions or other reasons. There’s also the reality that some people will have to wait much longer than others to get a vaccine. “The idea of certificates of vaccination for domestic use does bring in questions of equity. There are questions of fairness and justice. There could be discrimination,” he said in French. As CBC News reports, however, he acknowledged this kind of system might be necessary for international travel.
