By not enforcing laws created to hold tech giants to account, the Canadian government is failing victims who’ve experienced sexual violence and exploitation at the hands of the porn industry, says New Democrat MP and Ethics critic Charlie Angus.
Angus made the comments at a news conference on Tuesday, flanked by victims’ advocates from around the world. The event also follows a study by the House of Commons Ethics committee of the protection of privacy on porn sites such as Pornhub, which is run by a Montreal company called MindGeek.
