'Terrible Tragedy': Community Reacts To Fatal Accident | News, Sports, Jobs

FLUVANNA — The Bemus Point community is mourning the loss of a 22-year-old who died after he was struck while riding his skateboard late Sunday.
The New York State Police said its investigation into the accident remains ongoing. First responders were alerted to a vehicle-pedestrian crash shortly after 9 p.m. on Route 430, west of Fluvanna Townline Road, in the town of Ellery.
According to the state police, a 2011 Chevy Malibu being operated by a 19-year-old was traveling west and struck Bannon Eimiller of Bemus Point, who was also traveling west in the westbound lane, while riding a skateboard.
