McCarty's decision to locate the truck dispatching center for East Sparta Pumping on Preston Avenue NE is forcing township trustees to choose between accommodating the business or appeasing neighboring residents.
To legally operate the truck dispatching center, McCarty needs township trustees to rezone the land for commercial-business use, a B-2 classification. The site currently carries an R-1 zoning, which is low-density residential use.
"He has been informed that he was in violation," Trustee Wayne Schillig said. "He is running trucks. There is concern with the truck traffic. It is not a good fit for that area."
