eastern time. we'll have it for you right here. coast guard rescue. now, they're dramatic by nature, but one just-released mayday call from a ship off alaska's coast yesterday shows exactly how terrifying those moments are as endangered crews wait for that rescue to come. four crew members aboard a commercial fishing boat were left to grasp at floating debris after their ship capsized. but as nbc's ann curry reports, not all of those crew members made it out alive. >> reporter: robert jack described the horror watching his 70-foot commercial fishing boat overtaken by a large swell, tipping near the icy gulf of alaska. >> we were cutting through the water in a circle. it was almost a straight up and down wall. >> reporter: just after 5:30 on tuesday evening, the coast guard received a distress call. >> mayday, mayday, mayday. this is the northern belle. >> vessel northern belle, this is comms station today yak. request to know if you are in need of assistance. over. >> absolutely. we are going down!
