the thief stealing almost $400 from the register. >> and she claims the company demanded that she reimburse them for the missing money. but she is refusing. abc's ryan owens has the story. >> reporter: the robber with a mask on his face and a gun in his hand jumps the counter and demands the fast food manager empty the cash register. the manager hands over nearly $400, and the suspect takes off. two days later that manager is fired. marisa holcomb, a mother of three with a fourth on the way, says she lost her job at this popeye's near houston because she refused to pay back the money that was ripped off. >> i told them i'm not paying, i just had a gun to me, i'm not paying the money. >> you got it? >> reporter: when holcomb was fired earlier this month franchise owners said it was not because she was robbed but because she repeatedly did not empty that register, which is company policy. if she had, they say the crook would not have gotten away with so much cash. still, they now tell abc news
