Deputy police chief to fill in as interim chief while Naperville does search for Marshall's successor
Naperville Sun, Ill.
Jun. 30—Naperville's deputy police chief will serve as interim chief when Robert Marshall retires Friday after 44-year career with the city.
Jason Arres, currently in charge of the patrol division, will oversee daily operations and the department's 275 employees while city officials conduct a search for Marshall's successor, a city news release said.
Public management consulting firm GovHR has been tapped to conduct a nationwide search for candidates, which is expected to include internal applicants.
Finalists will be invited to participate in a series of panel interviews with city leaders, elected officials, police/union representatives and community members. The process is expected to take up to 16 weeks to complete.
