A Fayetteville man was sentenced to 10 years in federal prison Monday in the 2017 armed robbery of a Yadkin Road gas station.
Kareem Jaquian Dennings, 21, pleaded guilty in July 2018 to possessing and discharging a firearm during a crime of violence. In exchange for the plea, a charge of interfering with commerce by robbery was dismissed, court records show. Upon completion of the active prison term, Dennings will also serve five years of supervised release, according to a news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of North Carolina.
The charges stem from an armed robbery shortly after 4 p.m. on Oct. 9, 2017, at the Fast Trip gas station at 6295 Yadkin Road, Fayetteville.
