Four students from the AuTrain-Onota School participated in this year’s DAR American History Essay Contest, chaired by Onagomingkway Chapter Chair Sarah Smart. This year’s topic, “The Boston Massacre,” recognizes the 250th anniversary of the event that plunged the thirteen colonies into the American Revolution. Pictured standing are Noah Linne, 8th grade winner and Zoe Marcotte, 7th grade winner; with Isaac Merryman, 6th grade winner, and 8th grade participant Wyatt Merryman. The winners received bronze medals and all took home a certificate and cash prize. The DAR American History Essay Contest is open to all fifth through eighth grade students in public, parochial, private and home school situations.
