Dance workshop kicks off plan to relocate company to Las Cruces

LAS CRUCES - Michele’s Dance Academy and internationally acclaimed Dark Circles Contemporary Dance — founded and led by Las Cruces native and award-winning choreographer Joshua L. Peugh — are hosting an immersive two-week workshop for 14 professional and pre-professional dancers from around the country in Las Cruces this August.
The retreat-like workshop will give these hand-selected artists from around the country a chance to participate in a creation process working with in-demand choreographers — Peugh and New York City-based Mike Esperanza — to develop two world premiere dances. The company of artists will create the new works while also training with Michele’s owner and American Ballet Theatre alumnus Kevin Self.
