Crown Sydney gaming floors to go cashless in fight against money laundering
Crown's newest $2.2 billion casino at Barangaroo might not accept cash in any of its gambling venues as the gaming giant works towards securing a suitable licence.
Today the NSW Independent Liquor & Gaming Authority (ILGA) reached an agreement on several matters with Crown Resorts, one of which was ruling out hard cash for use on gaming floors.
"Crown has agreed with the Authority to make all gaming in its casinos cashless with card technology linked to identity and a recognised financial institution," the ILGA said in a statement.
