Critical race theory debate hits New York City public schools

A classroom at this Detroit high school in 2019 was filled with images of famous Black leaders and thinkers. New York City is planning a new Black studies curriculum as well as a separate culturally responsive English and math curriculum. Some parents have spoken out against such efforts and claim that schools are bringing critical race theory into classrooms.
