Helen Formet lived through the Great Depression, World War II and now the worst pandemic in more than a century.
Formet, 100, of Dublin, got her first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine Tuesday as Ohio's public rollout of the shot began with residents 80 and over.
Formet said she read in The Dispatch about how to get a shot and joked that she felt like a celebrity as she received her shot at Ohio State University's Schottenstein Center.
"I'm just looking forward to feeling secure and not getting it because I've had so many friends that have lost their mothers," Formet said. "It's a sad time for a lot of people. They don't even get to see their loved ones when they're in the hospital."
