COVID-19: San Bernardino County to move to less-restrictive red tier on Sunday

San Bernardino County will move from the most-restrictive tier in the state’s color-coded COVID-19 reopening plan to the less-restrictive red tier Sunday, a move that paves the way for certain businesses, like movie theaters and museums, to reopen with modifications, county and state officials announced Friday.
San Bernardino County has operated in the purple tier — indicating a widespread risk of infection — since last August. Its transition to red comes amid increased vaccinations and a dramatic decrease in COVID-19 cases, according to county Public Health Director Corwin Porter.
