County panel OKs contested liquor license

EDWARDSVILLE — A controversial liquor license for a Rosewood Heights convenience store was approved by a split vote Monday by the Madison County’s Public Safety Committee.
An unrestricted Class B liquor license was OK’d for SSM Dairy Corporation, which operates The Farm Fresh at 740 E. Airline Drive, Rosewood Heights.
The license was approved 3-2, with committee member Heather Muller-Jones, R-Maryville, absent.
A motion to approve the license was made by Stacey Pace, R-Troy, and seconded by Judy Kuhn, R-Trenton. Both voted in favor of the license. Voting against the license were Bobby Ross, R-St. Jacob, and Nick Petrillo, D-Granite City.
