Northeastern Pennsylvania Volunteer Firemen’s Federation will meet at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 8, as guests of the Crystal Fire Company, 201 Bacon St., Jermyn. COVID-19 guidelines will be in effect for meetings. Members should practice social distancing and wear masks. The fire/safety education committee will have information about concussions and the effect on fire and EMS responders. The information will be derived from numerous sources, including fire engineering, Facebook and the NFPA, along with information from the NFL and doctoral research. Information will also be available to apply for the DCNR Forestry Volunteer Fire Assistance Grant. The grant application period started March 15 and ends Thursday, May 13.
