It looked like they were in good position to win, whereas georgia, when it flipped for the first time in decades in 2020, was helped by the momentum from those two Senate Races being on the ballot at the same time, although they then went to the runoff and so Thats Part of the reason that democrats have felt like North Carolina could be more competitive than georgia this time around when you see the state narrowly flipping from one side to the other, as in that chart that you put up, its not primarily because theres a lot of voters in North Carolina changing their minds. Its because different voters are coming out and so if youre republicans are coming out because they feel demoralized about that gubernatorial race, or they Cant Stomach Voting for their own candidate if more democrats are coming out because theyre enthusiastic to vote against a gubernatorial candidate that potentially helps the momentum at the top of the ticket. So its a big part even before these revelations, but even more so after these revelations, the Mark Robinson dynamic has been a reason that North Carolina is competitive and there was another Development Yesterday about the potential debate, or perhaps not a debate yesterday, the Harris Campaign said that they would agree to have a debate in october. Well, maybe she is and maybe she isnt. One of the things i wanted to say as a prelude to this whole conversation is we are victimized by a flood of public polls and we treat each as if theyre stone tablets and not all that data is reliable. There are there are organizations and campaigns that are doing steady polling that i think are a little bit different than this. There are areas where shes behind biden among younger voters, shes shes improved dramatically over where biden was this time. But shes still needs to improve on that. And particularly young men and young black men which is a target of the Trump Campaign. These are areas of concern. She clearly there are voters hanging out here having made a decision, they tend to be younger. They tend to be more influenced by the economy she needs to speak more vigorously and specifically about the offer to them and convincingly, shes very passionate. We see her on abortion rights. Shes incredibly riveting on that subject. She needs to bring the same passion to some of these economic. Lets talk about the Blue Wall. Those voters with male voters here we have maybe the votes are off, but i think we can probably agree that she is still so this is an area that she does need to improve upon the Pennsylvania Wizard among white man, male voters in pennsylvania, the Critical Battleground Say look at 60 to the third. Well, this is one of those posts that im talking about. I think there is a margin, theres a 25 point, theres no to that shes trailing among man and look at michigan, but 15, maybe 15 maybe not, but she could be trailing that comes close, that comes closer. And wisconsin white likely voters, no clear leader here. So, you know you she does have cash. The one thing she does have a significant cash im a tutor, 35 Million in cash on hand for the final stretch of campaign. So how if youre the cares campaign, do you try to cut into prompts advantage . Maybe not 25 points, but maybe significant in a critical state like pennsylvania. Well, with this group, specifically white male vote yes. Again, i think the Margin Molly was speaking earlier about the fact that there . You have to look at together and trump thought he could offset her advantage among women or bidens, but now hers with men. And the fact is that she i think she is eclipsing him among women. Her margin is larger with women than his oh man, she has to keep that in place, but she has to obviously get her share. And again, i think especially in a state like pennsylvania economic issues are important, there fracking is a big issue there. Shes spoken to what she probably has to do more on energy in that state, but that Money Advantage is really, really important to me that says a she is, she is beating him handily on television, but also in digital which allows you to microtarget constituencies. And shes got like a five to one lead the acc terms of spending on digital advertising. So this ought to be a big concern to the trump camp. And of course, the get out, the Vote Effort as well. So critical here and thats one development that has happened over the last several days. One about the effort by the Trump Campaign to change the canton, nebraskas the only reason for it. Theres a reason for that. This is of course, one of the two congressional district so states that award electoral votes by congressional districts. The other one being made, but there is this effort by the Trump Campaign to make it look every other State Winner take all strategy. I am guessing that Hogans Campaign will make an issue out of this is sort of surprising to me given the money that was spent in the competitive primary that we covered, that her democratic opponent it didnt uncover this before you did he spent a lot of money on other issues. Shes outspent of course, ten to one in that primary, was he evaded david trone, just zoom back about where the race for the senate is. Just look at the map. So remind viewers about the challenge that democrats have to maintain the senate majority. Theyve already essentially lost west virginia. Thats going to almost certainly flip because Joe Manchin has retired that, that puts it at a 50, 50 senate. Then they have all those battlegrounds and those blue states there that they have to hold that includes maryland there to potential pickup opportunities, but those are long shots of sorts, texas and florida is going to be tough for them to flip. There is a ton of money being spent across the airwaves, ohio being the top of the list. Its 67 Million for the democrats reserve for future ad reservations, 70 Million for republicans. Theres a lot of money in maryland, not as high as those on the list. Maryland 11 Million so far, democrats have spent compared to 7 Million for republicans. Republicans are spending more though in future ad reservations, then democrats. Perhaps that those numbers could change though in the aftermath of some of this controversy, The Big Picture here is its the defending a seat in maryland is the last thing that the democrats want to be doing in a cycle where they are on defense across the map. As you say, theres, theyve got to spend huge amounts of money funny to have any Prayer Holding on to montana and ohio two Red States where theyre incumbents are struggling to put it mildly to survive and then theyve got all of these other Battleground States that are going to be hugely expensive Media Markets because of the president ial race where are their candidates . Again, are either on defense or an open seats in very tough states. And then to also have to be Spending Money on a seat in blue territory. Its just a nightmare for the democrats to try to hang onto it and it makes it very, very difficult. I cant remember a worst map for any party democrats have faced. Look, democrats say that they have strong candidates. They can still hang on. We will see these sensitive to run the table, to keep it at 5050, then theres a question about what impact thats Kamala Harris have on some of those redstate democrats are talking about mile just talking about ohio and montana. I caught up with the montana senator Jon Tester. Hes actually the one senator who is not in doors seeing Kamala Harris right now. And i asked him if theyll you do with the fact that hes running in a Red State and trying to hang onto his seat reasonable. Im running against a guy from minnesota that does know montana. He wants to talk about anything but montana. I wont talk about my case i want to talk about Health Care. I want to talk about public lands. Want to talk about distance. I want to talk about everything and he does not want to do that. Why . Because he doesnt know the issue, doesnt know any of those issues because hes not from montana and so thats thats the reason thats the only her politics to block from montana. Our politics too liberal thats for the people of montana and to the side on how i asked his opponent, Tim Sheehy to respond is off Office Campaign did not respond, but the National Republican Senatorial Committee did it saying that its surprised that Jon Tester hasnt endorsed Kamala Harris because he said because it was tester who personally recruited harris to run for senate in 2016, referring the time that dusters the head of the democratic campaign committee, mike berg, the spokesman for the committee, went on to call him to face test or who talks like a moderate farmer in election years . Maybe like texas. Theres a chance say, we can try to pull some money out. No indication theyre doing that quite yet, well see how that ultimately shapes up.
