Due to public-health restrictions and periodic school closures, 2020 was a challenging year for child abuse investigators, the Chatham-Kent Police Services Board heard at their April 20 meeting.
The annual report – part of an overall presentation involving multiple departments in the service – stated it had been a different year working with children and families since the global pandemic changed the way officers conducted investigations.
