A Covington, Kentucky man was arrested Thursday by the FBI in connection to the Jan. 6, 2021, U.S. Capitol breach.
Nicholas James Brockhoff was accused of spraying officers with a fire extinguisher from scaffolding set up for President Joe Biden's inauguration, according to a U.S. Department of Justice release.
Numerous people were above the officers on the scaffolding U.S. Capitol Police and the Metropolitan Police Department officers who were trying to control the crowd, according to the release.
The 20-year-old is scheduled to appear in federal court in the Western District of Tennessee Thursday afternoon.
The charges filed against Brockhoff include assaulting, resisting, or impeding certain officers; use of a deadly or dangerous weapon; and obstruction of law enforcement during civil disorder, according to the release.
