Activists mock launch of new buses with protest
Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited’s (
PMPML) decision to ply 50 air-conditioned (
AC) buses in the central parts of the city from July 9 is in direct violation of
COVID norms which prohibit use of ACs, alleged a city
social group here on Tuesday.
It may be noted that the PMPML has announced a Rs 10 daily pass for passengers on AC buses starting in the city soon. The transport body and the
Pune Municipal Corporation (
PMC) have erected flex boards around the city announcing the same. The authorities seem to be ignoring the advice to not use ACs as these contribute to the spread of novel coronavirus.
