Brothers in Lumberton to serve in prison for drug trafficking

LUMBERTON — Two Lumberton brothers have been sentenced for drug and firearm crimes, U.S. Attorney Robert Higdon announced Thursday. 
U.S. District Judge Terrence W. Boyle sentenced James Floyd, 29, to six years in prison and Jerrick Floyd, 36, to seven years and six months in prison for selling drugs and firearms from a house in Lumberton between 2019 and 2020. 
The charges state James Floyd distributed cocaine July 24, 2019, and both brothers distributed cocaine July 30, 2019. 
The charges stated both brothers purchased firearms “in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime.” 
In a sentencing memo filed Monday, a lawyer for Jerrick Floyd said his brother admitted the firearms belonged to him and not Jerrick Floyd.
