BRIDGEPORT — James McClain was flush with cash and allegedly eager to buy drugs, according to police.
Laquan Victoria was fresh out of prison with a folding knife in his pocket, they said.
On Friday, the 33-year-old Victoria was charged with felony murder, murder and first-degree robbery for the death of the 58-year-old McClain, found stabbed near Went Field on March 19.
“This is a very serious case and the defendant has a serious prior criminal record,” Senior Assistant State’s Attorney Nicholas Bove said Friday afternoon as Victoria watched the court proceeding via video, his arms resting on the bar of his cell in the courthouse lockup.
