During my late high school years — which will not impress the folks at MADD — we used to drive to the ‘Burg (Ogdensburg)’ in upper state New York in the winter and the St. Lawrence River party town of Alex Bay (Alexandria Bay) in the summer.

The purpose, of course, was to drink underage. My hometown of Brockville, Ont., was only 13 klicks from the bridge to the ‘Burg and 35 klicks to the Ivy Lea Bridge and Alex Bay.
