CIVIC leaders are urging residents to express their gratitude to the NHS workers, local authority staff and volunteers who have spearheaded the battle against coronavirus this weekend.
Sunday is the first national ‘Thank You Day’ to acknowledge their work combatting Covid-19 and Blackburn with Darwen Council bosses have thrown their support behind it.
They have asked borough residents to join them on social media using the hashtag #ThankYouDay to praise the individuals that have helped them through the pandemic.
And borough bosses have highlighted the efforts of NHS doctors and nurses, the council’s own staff and hundreds of volunteers who rose to the challenge posed by coronavirus and to help those ill or isolated as a result.
