Kanpur: On Thursday, the reports of National Institute of High Security Animal Diseases, Bhopal confirmed H5N1 avian influenza virus in the samples of three of the total eight ducks which were found dead in a pond in Hadha Bazar area of Unnao district on January 17.
Following the arrival of the reports, an alert was issued and the entry within one km periphery of the pond has been restricted, said the officials.
To recall, the samples of eight ducks found dead in a pond in Hadha Bazar in Unnao on January 17 were sent to NIHSAD for confirmation of the virus. The pond now has 60 ducks.
