Four patients are admitted in private hospitals also in the district. The rising figures of black fungus cases and casualties have left hospitals and district authorities jittery as demand for Amphotericin-B injection used in mucormycosis treatment has gone up and supply is likely to normalise in a week. Medical superintendent of BHU hospital Prof KK Gupta said, “A 55-year-old man from Mau and a 45-year-old patient from Ghazipur died of black fungus infection on Sunday. Muslim women pray to Lord Ram on Ram Navami in Varanasi VARANASI: Muslim women performed aarti of Lord Ram on Ram Navami at Lamahi village on Wednesday and prayed for the end of corona pandemic and the suffering caused by it. The women associated with Muslim Mahila Foundation celebrated Ram Navami and prayed for the safety of humanity from coronavirus while following Covid protocols. Setting an example of communal harmony, the members of Muslim Mahila Foundation have been celebrating Ram Navami for the last 14 years. “Lord Ram is the saviour of humanity and so we prayed to him to save the world from the dreaded coronavirus,” said MMF president Nazneen Ansari. “Lord Ram had killed even demons and so we firmly believe that he will also eliminate coronavirus,” Ansari added. She also advised the people suffering from coronavirus infection to recite mantras of Lord Ram and Hanuman for quick recovery from the illness.
