But Cllr Stephen McKee wants action now to help them, including a footpath to Southgate.
'The area near Colpe roundabout is a danger,' he told a recent council meeting. 'There are a lot of houses on the Beamore Road and it is very unsafe. The gardai have been out with speed checks but there has been no long term difference. We need rumble strips or ramps,' he stated.
Cllr Elaine McGinty said a plan was needed for the area.
Engineer Christy Clarke said they had a huge problem with vehicles hitting the barriers at the Colpe roundabout and they would be looking at options to calm traffic in the area.
