It was all down to an opportunity that we had because we were trying to have a baby and unfortunately for a few years we were not able to and we went through the nhs process and to do that, we had to give up smoking otherwise pay a large sum of money, which, in The Grand Scheme of things, it is one of those choices, and we were quite, i would not say we were heavy smokers, i dont know what you call a heavy smoker but we were 10 15 a day and we had been smoking from the age of 16, i was 30 at the time, my wife was 29, but when youre confronted with that, and the opportunity to have a child in your life, as we were, we did it, we actually went cold turkey, no Nicotine Tablets or anything like that, it was just, Nicotine Tablets or anything like that, it wasjust, we have got Nicotine Tablets or anything like that, it was just, we have got to do this, so we did. It was hard, i must admit, i must admit nowadays, it is probably quite, when you are out having a drink with your friends and things like that, but you look back at it and think, it is almost like an incentive, and im not saying everybody is going to go through the same journey we have, everybody is going to go through the samejourney we have, but everybody is going to go through the same journey we have, but maybe people could think about, if they think about their health, but it is everyones choice at the end of the day, your individual choice, but if youve got some sort of incentive, that could help. And that could be a personal thing, that could help. And that could be a personalthing, it that could help. The inquiry wasnt due to consider the impact on children at all but pressure from campaigners prompted it to be added to scope. Save the children and nspcc are among the groups saying the delay is unacceptable. So lets talk about the damage. It may have been useful in stopping the spread but did we properly consider the long term damage . A recent survey of more than 6,000 parents in england suggested Lockdown Damaged the Emotional Development of almost half of children. Emotionally, educationally, socially . My main concern personally as i work with teenagers and the amount of teenagers and the amount of teenagers vaping and using vaping to access is for many more concerning than trying to stop adults who have their own minds and thought processes from Stopping Smoking. We need to concentrate on this dynamic of society. Young people are vaping, inhaling, even though it clearly states on the box do not inhale. The nhs is promoting vaping as an alternative to smoking and i think there is no research, not real Long Term Research being done on vaping and next generation of smokers to be using vaping to the extent that they are, i think that will cause a massive, massive impact on the nhs in ten years time. In terms of cost to the nhs my mother in law died from copd, we looked after herfor 18 my mother in law died from copd, we looked after her for 18 months so its notjust the cost of the nhs, its notjust the cost of the nhs, it is the cost to people looking after people debilitated from smoking and there is a lot of home care going on and people talking about obesity and alcohol as a problem and they cost the nhs money. They are making the argument we should take smoking more seriously. If something cost the nhs more money we should tackle those problems. The food lobby is very powerful, just as is the tobacco lobby and alcohol lobby and we should be looking at ways we can improve Peoples Health across the board. 50 ways we can improve Peoples Health across the board. So yeah, by all means, tackle obesity, tackle alcohol problems and tackle smoking as well. And it seems to me most of the people that are saying this is an individual choice, and it is true, i have no problem with people smoking but we need to look at the system, the marketing, the fact suppression by the Tobacco Companies who have made a huge amount of money by lying to the public about the damage this does to their health and that has been well documented. Kamel was using cartoons to market to children which is the same is vaping so i think we should dismantle the Tobacco Companies and they should be held accountable for the damage they have caused. They knew it was causing damage to health so the people that are saying they enjoyed smoking, used to be a smoker, they arejust addicts and smoking, used to be a smoker, they are just addicts and we need to be honest, they are feeding an addiction so anything we can do to dismantle the smoking industry and told his people to account, of course, doing untold damage to peoples lives, take them to court, prosecute them, hold the executive to account, find out why they have lied, its an absolute travesty we have allowed these people took us so much damage to people.
