I would suspend that in creative ambiguity, wait until we get a deal, and then solve the problems of the Northern Irish border. New rules mean electric cars must now make a noise at lower speeds. England prepare to face india in a crucial World Cup Group stage game at edgbaston in the next half hour. And, at 10 30am, talking movies takes a special look at how film studios are trying to incorporate Environmental Concerns into the latest hollywood blockbusters. Thats coming up on bbc news. President trump has become the first serving us president to step foot inside north korea after a historic meeting with kim jong un in the demilitarised zone on the korean border this morning. This is the moment the two men met at the border. After handshakes and a brief chat, President Trump was welcomed across the border by the north Korean Leader. The event has been presented by the white house as an impromtu meeting, and some critics have dismissed it as pure political theatre. But there will be hopes that it will pave the way for future constructive talks. This is the third time the pair have met, although their last meeting in vietnam ended abruptly, without any progress being made. Well, kim jong un was the first to speak heres what he had to say. Translation President Trump has just walked across the demarcation line. That made him the first us president to visit our country. I believe, just looking at this action, this is an expression of his willingness to open a new future. This is what President Trump had to say. I just want to say that this is my honour. I didnt really expect it. We were injapan for the 620. We came over and i said, hey, im over here, i want to talk to chairman kim, and we got to meet, and stepping across that line was a great honour. A lot of progress has been made. A lot of friendships have been made, and this in particular has been a great friendship, so i just want to thank you. It was very quick notice and i want to thank you. There were further pleasantries when the pair had a sitdown meeting back on the Southern Side of the border. A further meeting took place after the cameras left, before they re emerged about an hour later along with president moon of south korea. Earlier i spoke to our correspondent stephen mcdonell, who is in the south korean capital, seoul. He gave this analysis of this mornings meeting. The speed as well that brought these people to this historic location has certainly led to a lot of the drama of it. The village on the demilitarised zone which saw the end of hostilities when the korean war was wound up, so for the first sitting us president to meet a north Korean Leader there and not only meet him but to step across the border into north korea has been quite remarkable. If we are to believe, donald trump, just 2a hours ago, he came up with this idea, first informed king jong un via twitter, and for the north Korean Leader to cobble together a plan to get himself from pyongyang to meet donald trump is incredible. Critics will say it has not brought us any closer to denuclearisation. The leader of south korea says there is no other way to peace than dialogue so he has welcomed this initiative on the part of donald trump. There had been some criticism by former us diplomats whove dealt with north korea before that this was rewarding mr kim without him having delivered anything at all to that ultimate objective of denuclearisation. Precisely. Many people have said that you are giving him something for nothing. You could have asked for anything at all. Something on human rights, something on Nuclear Weapons, closing one facility for example, and yet on the north korean side they might say we didnt have any notice, you called us to come, we just turned up. So i guess they would argue that it has been goodwill on their part to match the goodwill in the states site. Whether this comes to anything in the long run is what really matters. From the perspective of the south korean government, especially when you compare the situation to a few years ago, when tensions were high and there was serious talk of the possibility of war, at the moment the mood is quite different. Moon came to power in a landslide election victory trying to engage with the north. He would say this has been the right path and the majority of people in south korea backed that, and even though the Nuclear Weapons have not gone the peninsula is not sort of moving towards serious conflict. Investigations are continuing after a woman, who was around eight months pregnant, was stabbed to death in croydon. Her baby, who was delivered at the scene, is still critically ill in hospital. They tried to make efforts to save her life but unfortunately she died at the scene however she was eight months pregnant and they were able to deliver her baby. The baby is in hospital and we do not know the gender of the child that we know the babyis gender of the child that we know the baby is in a critical condition. This has shocked the neighbourhood as well. We have spoken to one neighbour who spoke of the level of distress at knowing Something Like this had happened on his street. Absolutely shocked. I had to get my car yesterday and it was taped in. They were all on the street. Upset. Upset for her. Upset for the child. The neighbours are definitely upset. Mrjohnson said the borrowing would fund education, policing and infrastructure projects. It comes as his rival for the conservative leadership, the foreign secretary, jeremy hunt, appeared to be toughening his stance on brexit in an effort to win over supporters. Here with me now is politics correspondent tom barton. In terms of what borisjohnson as saying, we have come through a period of austerity. A lot of concern among the incoming governments when the conservatives first came to power, the coalition, the lib dems, that labour had spent too much money and had been profligate in its view, the famous note saying there is no money left. It was a joke but it illustrates the point. Now they are saying we have done that but we have to borrow money to spend money. Boris johnson has been talking about his economic plans. It is twofold. On the one hand he is talking about trying to cut taxes. For some people. He says there is now fiscal headroom, enough coming in in taxes to allow the government to do that, but he is also talking about spending and in particular spending on infrastructure, those big capital projects, roads, railways, power stations, that cost a lot of money but also generate economic growth, and this morning he told sky news that he was willing to borrow more money in order to make that happen. If you look at february the chancellors revenues exceeded expenditure. February is different. Indifferent months you are in deficit. Believe me there cash available. Are you prepared to see borrowing go up . At the moment there is the headroom available and we intend to use it and i think you can do some great things to stimulate economic growth. A very simple question. Are you prepared to see borrowing go up . If it is borrowing to finance great infrastructure projects. That is the opportunity to borrow at low rates and do things for the Long Term Benefit of the country then we should do them, but there are some projects. In this country we are spending about £250 billion on public procurement per year of one kind or another. Do not tell me they are not significant savings to be found in the way we spend that money. You are prepared to see borrowing go up . spend that money. You are prepared to see borrowing go up . I am prepared to borrow to finance certain great objectives but overall we will keep fiscal responsibility and keep going with the general trajectory of ensuring that this country pays its way and lives within its means but you can do that within its means but you can do that with some sensible tax cuts that will stimulate growth and get revenue end. How very John Mcdonnell, an interesting comment. They suggest that this Leadership Campaign is seeing the conservatives move towards that position labour have been advocating for a long time that you need to spend money in order to get the economy moving. Talking about labour, a bit more detail about policy from them, John Mcdonnell suggesting may be more to come on taxation of wealth. The much more interesting story this morning on the labour side, given they are not in government so they make promises but they do not have to deliver, is aboutjeremy corbyn himself. There is a big internal row in the labour party about their position on brexit. John mcdonnell reported to have described it in shadow cabinet labour policy has a slow motion car crash. This policy, which is, and i think many people in labour would admit, has been a bit ofa labour would admit, has been a bit of a fudge, trying to keep labour heartland brexit supporters happy while trying not to alienate those people who would back remain in the south and east of england. It has been a very tricky line for them to walk although John Mcdonnell been a very tricky line for them to walk althouthohn mcdonnell has over the last few weeks been moving himself towards a possession which is more strongly pro remain at odds with some in the Leadership Campaign and this morning he has gone a step further, saying that he thinks labours possession would become to almost certainly back another referendum. Jeremy corbyn said we are moving towards a decision on this. We have agreed we have to go back to the people. We have to go back to the people. We have to go back to the people. We have to go back to the people on any deal or no deal. Most probably in a referendum, lam deal. Most probably in a referendum, i am almost certain. What attitude should labour take . I have said publicly i would vote remain and campaign for remain. Potentially setting us up for a big row later because Len Mccluskey the leader of unite is one of the Andrew Marr Show and a few minutes and he is well known to be strongly in favour of the labour party taking a much harder pro brexit line and there could be fireworks. Thank you. President trump is talking at osan airbase in south korea. I outlined the incredible prosperity that awaits north korea when there is then get settled. I have been talking about this for a long time but this is a country with pretentious tremendous potential. They said it was so different before we had the meeting, the big summit, in singapore, it was different, it was really hostile. We understand it better than anybody. Since our first meeting in singapore we got along, we had a great feeling. You will see it tonight on television, you will see it wherever you see it. Today there are so many forms of looking at things. As soon as you pick one another one comes up on the first one is obsolete but youre going to see some really nice acts. I stepped in with chairman kim to north korea and they say that its a historic moment and i think that is a historic moment and i are very good moment. He asked me would you like to do that . I said it would be my honour. We went over the line and turned around and everybody was so happy. Many people i noticed from korea were literally in tears, crying. This is a big thing. It is a big thing. We are going to work on something. We have a tremendous team of people who know how to do this and we are going to put them in charge and the secretary of state is here. Where is mike . Is he here . Where is our secretary of state . Mike, come up here. You know who else i have . Has anyone heard of ivanka . Come up. She is going to steal the show. What a beautiful couple. The us secretary of state and ivanka trump being praised as a beautiful couple by President Trump. That meeting that took place with kim jong un at the demilitarised zone earlier today. Eoin morgans side are under a lot of pressure. Heres the bbcs test match cricket special commentator prakash wakankar. I think first and foremost they just need to have the belief because, look, this is a side that until very recently, last week, was number one in the world odi rankings. They have played a different brand of cricket since 2015 16 under eoin morgan. They probably bat as deep as any odi side. Theyjust i think need to adapt. Thats the key word. Eoin morgan said that in his press conference last evening, saying we need to adapt a little, so you may not be always able to play your game and you will need to adjust and adapt to the conditions and the opposition. With india, they know that the chink in indias armour is early wickets and if they can get virat kohli back in sooner than later, then that middle order, which has always been a problem for india, as in this tournament, as we saw against afghanistan, it could be an area they could really exploit. That match gets under way in ten minutes. Dont forget coverage begins on radio 5 live sports extra. You can also watch in play video highlights via the bbc sport website and app. Well, yesterdays result means its advantage pakistan in the race for a top four place. Defending champions australia beat new zealand by 86 runs, despite being restricted to 243 9 from their 50 overs. New zealands trent boult taking a hat trick at the end of the innings. The other semi final will be the netherlands and sweden. Sweden did it the hard way they had to come back from a goal down to beat germany 2 1, the first time theyve beaten them in a major competition in 2a years. Stina blackstenius with the winner to send her nation into the last four. The dutch had it a little easier, securing their spot with a 2 0 win over italy. Two second half headers from vivianne miedema and stefanie van der gragt carried them to the last four for the first time. Their semi final will be on wednesday. England, of course, take on the usa on tuesday. Both matches will be live on bbc one. Lewis hamilton was penalised three great places for todays grand prix. World champion marc marquez could only qualify fourth. Britains Cal Crutchlow was sixth. Grieving families will no longer have to cover burial or cremation costs when a child dies, under a new government scheme. Each year around 3,800 children die, with a further 2,700 stillbirths. The Childrens Funeral Fund aims to ensure families wont have to pay Funeral Directors in england for burials or cremations from next month. That moment of tragedy, when families will be thinking about the child they have lost, having to work out how to pay for and arrange a funeral is just Something Else that they really dont want to have to worry about. What were doing here is trying to take away that worry about how you can pay for that funeralfrom them. Everyone whose child dies in the context of england will be eligible, we are not means testing this. Itjust removes that extra worry and stress at a very difficult time for families. The Justice Minister speaking earlier. Earlier, mp Carolyn Harris spoke to my colleagues about her personal experience of struggling to cover the costs after losing her son martin. The Welsh Government had introduced a Childrens Funeral Fund within six months of me first mentioning it and scotland came on board later and local authorities in Northern Ireland did it bit by bit but now we have it across the uk. Can you tell us about your tragic circumstances, losing your son and the situation you found yourself in . I was a dinner lady at the time and my husband worked on the railway, he was a manual worker, and we lost martin injune 1989 in a Road Accident completely unexpected. We gave him the best funeral that we could and within three weeks of the funeral we had the bill, which at the time was for 1750 i think and we just did not have the money. The local community had a whip round and gave us £1000 and my husband went to the bank and borrowed £750 and that is how we paid for the funeral. More people in the uk are now managing their Bank Accounts on mobile apps on their telephones, rather than through internet banking. A report on the future of Digital Banking says that this year 25 million customers are using their mobiles to run their accounts. The proportion of Customers Using app banking is expected to continue to rise over the coming years, reaching 71 by 202a. All new electric vehicles must be fitted with a noise emitting device similar to the sound of a traditional engine to alert other road users to their presence. The European Union rules follow concern that vehicles without a petrol or Diesel Engine are too quiet, putting pedestrians, cyclists and other vulnerable road users at risk because they do not realise they are approaching. Katy austin reports. As well as being better for the environment, for some drivers the quietness of electric cars is part of their attraction. It is fairly busy today and you can hear all the traffic, but if it was electric it would be difficult. For more vulnerable pedestrians, including john and his guide dog, it is a problem. Stepping out across the road with your guide dog is something i might do, and if suddenly a vehicle appears out of nowhere when an engine is started up, so yes it is very difficult to make a safe decision to cross the road when you cant hear a vehicle. Some electric models already make a sound. From tomorrow, eu rules mean new electric and hybrid models must have a sound producing system fitted, and from 2021 that will apply to all new cars. The uk government backs the idea for safety reasons, and says it wont create too much noise. I dont think it is going to create any unnecessary noise pollution. The reality is that this device will only be active when the vehicle is travelling at 12 miles an hour or less, so very low speeds. It will switch itself off when the vehicle travels faster than that. John says it would be good if all electric vehicles had an acoustic system that worked all the time, but says the new rules are a good start to making roads safe for everyone as technology develops. From stormzy to the killers to kylie later this afternoon, this years glastonbury certainly hasnt been disappointing for its big names and stars, but whats the festival like for up and coming bands making their first appearance . Weve followed two british bands whove both been signed by a huge label in the us and are on the rise here in the uk idles and fontaines dc. Fiona lamdin was waiting to meet them as they came off stage yesterday afternoon. This is one of the most magnificent moments in our lives. And to be playing one of glastonburys biggest stages for their debut shows just how far idles have come in the last two years. Weve waited 12 years to play here. This punk rock bands latest album joy as an act of resistance reached number five in the album charts. We met frontman joe talbot just moments after they came off stage. Weve got to be quick because im doing something on tv. They have a huge following. Meaning our interview took a while to get going. Youre amazing. One of the best gigs of my life. This was the 12th selfie. And to play to a stunning audience and to my wife and child, im never going to forget it. Its the best thing ever. Halfway through their performance it just got too much forjoe. And within minutes, his wife and newborn baby came up on stage. Thats my babys first. She was asleep through the whole thing. When did you think this is happening . Ive made it. Right now. Really . Tonight . Yeah. This is stunning. Sometimes in your life its ok to allow yourself to take a breath and accept what youve done and pat yourself on the back. And that moment was tonight . Yeah. Im so happy for you guys. Later, in the backstage bar, more people delighted to seejoe, but these arentjust regular fans. Meet fontaine dc, a less well known band who are also signed by the same label. A postpunk band from dublin, they only released their first album in april. They may be less famous than idles right now but they were still spotted by a keen fan. Earlier they played on glastonburys john peel stage, definitely their biggest gig to date. You think id love to do that but its always in that kind of sphere of dreams where you kind of think they are just dreams, and then suddenly they stop being that. Playing here at glastonbury was a first for these bands. Something they could both only dream of. A performance, an experience, neither will forget. Now its time for a look at the weather, with sarah. If youre not a fan of the heat and humidity we had yesterday, today will be much fresher. A lot of dry weather with some sunshine. It will feel fresher, less humid, not as hot as it was yesterday. Still a few showers to come today through the west of scotland, one or two in Northern Ireland and the far north of england, as well. Further south, long spells of sunshine with temperatures between 17 and 25. Keep the cloud the north and the half of the cloud the north and the half of the country. A few showers in Northern Ireland and the north of england. Temperatures down to around 11 or 1a degrees. Through the day tomorrow, the chance of an
