Appleton Post-Crescent
APPLETON - A man accused of shooting and killing a woman more than three years ago entered a plea to a homicide charge Tuesday, averting a trial expected to take place this week.
Johnny Scott, 62, was arrested shortly after 2 a.m. Sept. 21, 2017, in front of a Canary Street duplex he shared with Annie Ford, 48, and her son. Ford was found in a bedroom with multiple gunshot wounds and taken to St. Elizabeth Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Scott pleaded no contest to one count of first-degree intentional homicide, while two other charges — second-degree recklessly endangering safety and possession of a firearm by a felon — were dismissed, according to court records.
