OPELOUSAS, La. -- Students from Port Barre Middle School and North Central High School will be participating in the Amazon Future Engineer (AFE) Program. This program is a comprehensive childhood-to-career program to inspire, educate, and train children and young adults from underserved schools and communities to pursue careers in computer science. Amazon Future Engineer offers qualified middle schools access to exploratory computer science classes through Project STEM.

Schools selected for this program will receive these courses, dedicated implementation and ongoing support at no cost, according to a spokesperson for the St. Landry Parish School Board.
