Polk Street United Methodist Church — Worship at 11 a.m. in-person at our historic sanctuary, online (psumc.com or on our Facebook page), or on television (News Channel 10 or Suddenlink Channel 6). This Sunday, Jan. 24, Dr. Mark Welshimer will share the message “Stand As One” from Ephesians 6:10-18, our Sanctuary Choir will sing special music, and we will have a time of prayer for our nation. Sunday School Classes are at 9:45 a.m. and are meeting both live and virtual. Holy Communion is offered every Sunday at 9:30 a.m. in the Ware Chapel. Everyone is invited to wear a mask, social distance, and sanitize as health and safely are prioritized at Polk Street UMC. At 6 p.m. Sunday, there will be a Town Hall Meeting in the Sanctuary (also online at psumc.com and our Facebook page) for all people. Discussion will include response to the COVID-19 pandemic, what we have learned, what changes we have made, and what ministry might look like in a new COVID-19 landscape. Thom S. Rainer’s book “The Post-Quarantine Church” will be discussed as Dr. Mark Welshimer will a discussion with our staff and our church about “Lessons from Covid-19.” Wednesday nights at 6:30 p.m. check out our “Church on the Move” live podcast (psumc.com or on our Facebook page) as we consider biblical truths for a practical world.
